After watching your instructional video went and replaced my radio with a radio from a Chrysler that is identical to the radio I have. On back of the newly acquired radio it says L0611/120/13 so I am assuming that it is a compatible radio. I had no problem replacing the radio but when i tried turning it on absolutely nothing happened. I have no power whatsoever. When i reconnected my radio it worked badly but it worked. My basic problem with my old radio is that the AM is all staticky. FM is fine and so is the CD player. Can that be repaired or should I just try getting another radio. Is there anything that can be done for the newly acquired radio to be able to show power ???????????? Thank you very much Jose Flores
It is a common problem that the manufacturer never corrected. It may be a cracked or broken solder joint that controls your am freqency, surprisingly that everything else works. Unless you listen to AM frequently, I would not spend the extra money to replace it. On some vehicles the replacement radio may not work because it may need a factory code, check on my comment to another viewer that had a similar problem with their replacement radio. Check the back of your car manual on the radio section, it maight have a code to reprogram the radio. Also, look up the manufacturer's website if they show an anti theft code for the radio, or contact the dealer.
Most likely it may be one of the solder joints or chip that cracked or came apart inside the main board of the radio where the antenna jack is connected. It is common on these radios. This happens because the joints are not sodered well from the manufacturer.
Just I see your Old Radio doesn't have Bluetooth,,and I saw the new one have Bluetooth my question is, ,after replaced the radio, your cellphone connected true the car Bluetooth automatically?
Thank you SOOOO much for the video. .and I will be able to replace mine on my 2016 mini van . Your video was one of the most informative one I watched. Thanks AlOT
Turn your radio off. If your radio has a "force cd eject feature", press and hold cd player's power button and eject button at the same time for 5 to 10 seconds, release the buttons and cd should pop out automatically. Sometimes the cd player will function on and off sporadically, it will free the cd when you press eject, it has happened on mine a few times. There is one other method, with an old credit card, put transparent tape around the card, with sticky side up, insert it in the cd player and wiggle it around and it might grab and pull the cd out. Good luck.
I did that. Actually got lucky with double faces tape on a metal icing spatula. Was able to pull it out and surprisingly she hasn’t had any issues with ejecting again so far.
The removal and installation was pretty easy, but the radio/deck would not work because the display read "input anti-theft code', and I had no idea what that was, so I went to my local Chrysler dealer, and the told me they don't give those out, so I'm not sure how this is supposed to work without the code.
Check in your glove compartment if you have a sticker with 5 digit code numbers, or in your car manual, if so, program those numbers and it will reset the radio, some cars have this as an anti-theft feature. Otherwise you would have to contact the dealership, if they will program it for you
don't if you can help me, I have a 2015 grand caravan and my radio or and my bluetooth while talking goes off and on about every 2 seconds, pretty annoying, sometimes it works just fine till the next time I use it. thx Greg
@gregoryv3626, Sounds like the soddering on the main board that was done from the factory is failing. You may have to replace the system or find someone that can resodder the areas inside the mainboard.
Thank you for this video, I would not have known the new radio was an upgrade to the yellow antenna was for Xmas radio ! Now I don’t have to pay a mechanic to switch them out!! Buddy from upstate New York
I picked it up at a junkyard, from a same type vehicle. Check your local salvage yards, you may have to remove the radio yourself which is very simple and cheaper, Good luck.
Hello I have the same problem with the same van , mine is 2013 grand caravan the radio works sometimes and it doesn’t sometimes, I got one from junkyard installed it , it didn’t work… yoke it back put the old one back on…any ideas what is causing it?
Man fuc dodge this van is a 16 and having issues with the parking break radio volume Stop working now the passenger sliding door lock actuator stop working motor has piston slap abs sensor needs to be replaced. this is our only dodge in the family we’re mostly lexus & toyota family this thing is a disappointment 😂
@frankgrande6274, Check in the back of your car manual in the stereo/radio section for the code. Also, manufaturer's website can help with the code. If the dealership will take care of it without charge would be great. There is one method you can try but it may sometimes cause costly damage. Holding the radio button for about 50 seconds may bypass the code and activate the radio functions, Although that would be to your discretion. Let me know what you decided to do and the outcome, good luck.
Why would you skip the parts of unhooking the antenna and hooking up the antenna? That's the part I'm having problems with. I cannot unhook mine and you just skip past it. It just showed something with his screwdriver but I don't know what you did
If your car manual does not have the anti- theft code in the radio/stereo section, checkout the manufacturer's website. The dealership can also help you with this, sometimes with no charge.
Hello Evgueni Khalkov, No, it does not work without the wire harness to be plugged in to the radio, and this minivan was not equipped with it. Although the aftermarket wire harness is available to be added but I am fine with basic AM/FM radio and cd working. Thank you
im curious i got one of the touch screen ones with back up camra and all on my rt model but mine died so i need to get a after market i got the adapters for everything but that smaller plug next to the power cable what does that do will it be needed with the new radio because i see you don't got it yet i do
PlayaOfGames, I did not have that feature in my minivan, but I believe it may be for voice command ( hands free) feature, but not sure. Since you have the higher end features, look on ebay, or contact the nearest salvage yard, and you can pick up the radio for cheap, as long as the features are similar, good luck.
Hi Johnny Ishak, You should check some salvage yards out there that may have a dodge grand caravan or chrysler town & country similar to your minivan body style year. This would be the most affordable way, as I did. I am sure those junk yards will have plenty of similar minivans that will have radios still in them. Also, facebook marketplace and ebay would be the next places to check. Good look.
Hi john jones, The video is only about replacing the radio. If your radio is identical, then hold the "time" button on the top until you see the hour blink , then change the hour with the tuning knob. Repeat same for minutes, but press in the tuning button to change it from hour to minutes blinking, then turn tuning knob to change the minutes as needed, and that is all. Check if your time button might be located on the right, but still the same steps. This radio did not have the date feature. Hope this helped.
Thank you. This video was great! 😊
Looks easy!! Now to find another radio!!

Btw, same radio as my 2010 Grand Caravan
The radio in my 2013 caravan started cutting in and out recently. Possibly a wiring issue?

@@fixallchannel Thank you.
You sure it was the radio and not the wiring? My issue is the wiring, which is common with these.

My wife’s favorite cd is stuck on her radio on the 2015 grand caravan. Radio itself works fine but was wondering when you hit eject did cd come out?

Look in the owner manual under anti theft section for the radio
Hi, your video was very helpful. I followed all your step. But it's asking for a code to enter. How do I find that code?

How do you get the anti theft code? Can you use the radio without the anti theft code?
Mark Smith,
I did not have to use an anti theft code. I replaced the radio and it worked.
Exactly... that's my problem
@@ameldaquirk3965I did not have any issues, it worked fine, I no longer own the minivan, I sold it.

Does the Blutooth work after the upgrade?

There is a tab where I am pointing with the screwdriver, you lift it toward you to free it from the little nub.
I'm trying to install my radio and it keeps asking for security code were can I find it it not in owner manual

Can you play Sirius in your car now?
You cannot play the sirius radio without the harness hook up for it. My minivan did not come with that option.
