I hope career wise she stays a bit more active and not have another long break. Jesy will need to look beyond the charts and views and really dial into her artistry as a vocalist and performer.

Idk if anyone has said it but Jesy wrote this song from a somewhat personal experience. She worked closely with women’s aid to shine a light on what it’s really like to be in a domestically abusive relationship. The story she’s using in the music video is her mum’s (apparently with her dad) and it’s so beautifully done. It really does show the reality of domestic abuse and as a survivor i felt seen.
Like your reaction and I also think that Jesy should give these type of songs a try. Sorry to see that that things she's said and done is influencing her possibillities in the charts, but she should keep on and perhaps things will be better.

After the awful track Boyz and seeing Jesy parting ways with her label, I had really low expectations what Bad Thing was going to be like. Wow, I ate my words, it is a really good track. Great balance between vocals and musical arrangement. Throughout the song it has great emotional feeling and nothing was overpowered. Sad part, even though it was a good song, it only reached 98 in the UK Singles Chart. Now she is an independent artist, there is no big record label to manipulate charts.
