- In this video we check out the Fender American Vintage II 1963 Telecaster, the closest you'll get to a custom shop Telecaster without it being a custom shop. One of the nicest Telecasters I have ever laid hands on.

Nice Tele. Really like fenders AVii series. Got the AVii 57 strat last year and I am happy with it. Just nice to be able to get a guitar we grew up liking at an affordable price. There are also the same issues musicians have been dealing with since the beginning. 60cycle hum, 7.25 radius. Non modders stock people would probably think this is sacreligous. But I already modded my 57 reissue. Copper shielding, changed aged pick up covers to match the pickguard.
I love Teles... They are so easy to work on. Pickup options are out of this world.
Fantastic review Rich!!
Waiting for mine to arrive any day now, Gonna throw a TORT PG on it and just enjoy it for what it is, an absolute GEM of a guitar. Thank You for this Video.
That tele looks and sounds great!
If I ever decide to get a Custom Shop, I want every single bite and scratch of relic’ing to be to my personal specification. That’s the only way to justify the price (and maybe quash the madness). Great demo. Cool guitar. ✌
Thanks!
@@RichBischoff You are welcome, sir.
Awesome tele l agree that bridge pick up sounds immense… so the Fender Vintera ii is the cheaper version?🙂
Great telecaster and great review! I own this model in the same color and I love it. The bridge pickup is great, but it definitely has one of the nicest neck pickups I've played in a Tele. I just ordered a mint green pickguard for it. Can't wait to switch things up! Cheers!
Have you tried the mahogany body version?
Sounds awesome . Who says tele's are only good for country ?
Rich what fender model amp is that you're plugged into and are you using any pedals ?
Not a Fender Amp. It's a Supro Keeley Custom 12, and I'm playing through my pedalboard. I think I include a shot of my board in the vid.
@@RichBischoff thanks Rich. Great playing as always.
You oughta sell a few and add that to the keepers list. Tell ‘em Santa made you do it.
That’s what Teles are supposed to sound like.
