You don't know skillet before you heared The Resistance, Not Gonna Die, Whispers in the dark and the neuesten Single: Dominion!
The nice thing about Skillet is that they're songs can be interpreted in many ways for many people, but this song is about God, like all their other songs. God is their Hero that is living in them.... in all of us. Skillet is an Amazing Christian Rock Band. Has been my favorite band since the '90s!!
Saw them at YCAB2013 live, a couple months before Rise dropped, got to be one of the first people to hear some of the songs off it. It was astounding to say the least, I still think about the lightshow for Whispers in the Dark, it matched so perfectly it wasn't even funny, and it instantly made me a fan (I had heard of Skillet, but never listend to them before then). Even now, years after falling from my faith and having a questionable relationship with the Christian faith I am a fan, even of their more overtly Christian songs (Salvation is a banger, ngl) and seeing Jen's performance that night inspired me to pick up the drums and by proxy inspired me to wanna make music in general. Skillet changed my life, and even if I don't listen to them daily anymore you know I have several of their albums saved on spoofy haha!

Seeing Jen play live is what made me wanna be a drummer, she is amazing, and as a drummer I can attest that singing with her consistancy while drumming is not easy, and she deserves so much more recognition
Very few people recommend their song “Victorious”, and I know you don’t know my personal music preferences just as I don’t know yours, but I’m telling you there is no way you don’t love this song. If you gave Hero a 10, your going to give Victorious an 11. The instrumentals and harmonies are amazing, and the message as always uplifting even when you’re in the darkest places.

This is a Christian band and they are Awesome.
Skillet is highly underatted
I think the only negative thing i have to say about skillet after being a fan of them since 2008, is that their live shows could benefit from them singing their iconic songs first so they have the vocals and energy required to do them justice. Oh and either lower their guitars volume, or turn up their mics, it always seems like they are slightly drowned by their instruments. But other than that they are the best Christian rock band on earth.

The lead singer from Skillet looks like he could be brothers with the lead singer of Blue October. Seems very similar!!!
Flyleaf Singer helped out Skillet on their last Tour and boy did Lacey Sturm kill it. Do a Flyleaf Song l”I’m So Sick”. It’s Absolutely Amazing. A Skillet Song to do “Awake & Alive”

This was their breakthrough song on secular ( Mainstream not Christian) stations. I don’t know if you’ e done it yet, but a great song of theirs about regret in a relationship is Lucy. You might check it out.
The tone of their songs should not be surprising. They are a Christian band. Another interesting thing is that the drummer is the other vocalist and live, she does her vocal parts while playing the drums.
