As a small veteran (5"4) it is a tough life he has ahead of him. My advice to this young Marine is to be careful as well as tough. Understand that the work you put in puts greater mileage on your body. I spent ten years in combat arms in the Army and now have a myriad of knee and back problems that are service connected. Don't regret a minute of it, but I would advise young troopers and Marines to be careful, make sure they are getting the core strength they need and load-distributing properly. Treat your body good now and it will treat you better in the long run.
It's so inspiring 👏👏 I'm 5 foot 5 inches, 164.5 cms. For IPS in India the minimum height is 165cms. But, I'm definitely gonna crack Civil Services for sure. Thanks for your service and inspiration Sir

We should be absolutely embarrassed that street thugs, violent cartel gang members and rapists are streaming accross the southern border as I type and are being handed a cell phone, pre paid debit card and a housing voucher all on the taxpayers dime.
Citizenship should not be handed out for simply being the military. That just creates perverse incentives. Imagine a foreign power sending thousands of its young fighting age men into your country so they can gain military knowledge and later become spies. Japan, South Korea, China, and most countries don’t do this. Foreigners should not be allowed to join your military, this is common sense. It’s literally a national security threat.

I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the states in 1996. I am 5'05" and 119 lbs when I was in Fort Benning GA for Infantry School. I was the fastest guy to climb the ropes, no one can even come close. I joined right after 9-11 and in 2003 I was deployed to Ramadi Iraq as a mortarman. Some of the kids I grew up with in the Philippines can easily finish the training if they were given the opportunity.
This is so true. Hahaha every Filipino who grows up in the middle class would have finished it for a better future and pride for their family.
walang binatbat yan sa PMA training, no water, bullying, hazing lahat2 na
@@muysantos2859 hahaha legit
@@muysantos2859PMA alumni? sana makapasok ako😅 pma class 2029 cadet candidate
@@maeanny3435my buddies would say they've take the opportunity at USA military and USMC than infantry. Peer to peer challenge and shit to live FOB with uncertain encounters or hazing raids from rebels and terrorist. Filipino servicemen would jump the golden ticket at the drop of a hat.
I am a 5' Filipina US Navy Veteran. I too was the shortest in my company. Height does not matter if you have a goal you want to achieve. My father was a WWII army veteran, one brother also served in the US Navy, and a sister served in the US Air Force. We all proudly served.
Thank you for your service, Ma'am!
Wow, wala bang minimum height requirement ate?
@NullEvolve Minimum 5'. Any lower you can request a waiver. We had a company commander who was 4'10. She was short, but fierce.
Good Job Marine, i was a filipino too who just moved to US last year and started my process as soon as possible, i am a active duty Airman now and grew exponentially in the last year. i couldn't be more proud.
When he said he looked up the most challenging service before joining, I could have told you he would make it before he got on the bus. It's 90% mental.
We are talking marines- not USAF. 90% mental for marines? U think marines are bulky coz of their brains? Much respect for them!❤
@@rabidfarmer9765You clearly missed the entire point! It’s the most physically and mentally challenging boot camp and those without mental toughness will quit and go back to mommy and daddy. Get it now girlfriend?! Use your brain. Oooof
FINALLY a POSITIVE STORY about the USA and especially the Marines.
Congratulations to person or team that put this story together..
Damn that's awesome. Never let anyone tell you can't do anything. Thank you for your service Marine!
Hell yeah! I’m a stateside born Filipino, 5’3”, started a PVT, retired a LtCol, USMC Ret (1988-2015). Congratulations to LCpl Dahilig! Semper Fidelis!
I’m not part of the family, but as a fellow Fil-Am, I feel an immense sense of pride in his accomplishments.
"OORAH!'
5'4, from the Philippines, 23 and immigrated during the Pandemic..
That's me as well, but I'm joining the Army.😅
Kudos to my fellow pinoy!
You young man (war bag) are an example to everyone! You have the heart of a lion. And you should be very proud of yourself, and you have made America proud!!!❤
This young man is going places. He will be a great American citizen and he will be an example for others to look up to and for all to follow.
I'm 5'3 Filipino and Joined the U.S. Marines in 2000 till 2004. 0811 artillery and was stationed in Camp Las Pulgas. Oorah!

Proud of you guys! I was there also back in the 90’s. All sweat and tears, all dedication and teamwork. Now retired and proud of the Marine Corps and the Navy.
another Filipino pride 🇵🇭💪♥️. we salute you sir. Dahilig.

Tear is joys on my face for this young man, the true meaning of a find us citizen! I wish our youth would stride to do better just like war bag!
Gen. Douglas MacArthur once said this about Filipino Soldiers: "Give Me 10,000 Filipino Soldiers and I will Conquer The World".

my ggp was one of his command in ww2 he is a great warrior to serve and protect democracy and freedom. We filipinos can easily adapt any kind of environment.
Aye
hes just kidding
WarBag, im proud of you. Be strong and proud as an American soldier. Mabuhay ka!
Hey War Bag, my hat off to you. I wanted to join the Navy, but after years of working as a refugee, I had so many broken bones that disqualified me from enlisting. I wanted to do the same thing you did, but life had a different path for me.
Unlike many, we know the value. Keep up the good work, and never give up. You still have years ahead of you. You can use your GI bills to go to a top graduate school.
Oorah!! Semper Fi!!! Congrats from one Filipino Marine to another!! USMC 1991
He is my countryman from the Philippines, he maybe short, typical Filipino but with a big heart and courage..
he is plenty big enough. Filipinos are famous for big hearts and courage to match!
Average height of a filipino male is 5'4
As a Vietnamese American, graduating from USCG boot camp (L-148) was one of my proudest moment in my career, then went on the serve 25 years in law enforcement. Paid my dues to be a citizen of this great country.
I’m Filipino 5’3” U.S. Army Airborne and retired as a First Sergeant. It’s not the height or stature but the heart that counts.
OMG! I can't imagine what my son had gone through @ the training though they're on different field . Small but terrible!!! Just like my son❤️, and I'm so proud of him! This young man made his parents proud too as well as the country. To my son & to all the service men, Thank You for your service!!! Thanks for sharing this video also.
Speaking of Filipino, there’s a 3 Star US Army General, now retired Edward Soriano.
This just shows that no matter how impossible something may seem, where there is a will there is a way!
For Filipinos 5’4 is big enough ,we have a lot of heart for what we do and give 💯 always ,congrats bro 🔥🙏 ,
Yeah, I’m 5’4” 125lbs during BCT 2/54 inf in Sand Hill back in 98, mentality and endurance is the key to success especially during summer heat of training. “Pinoy Pride”
This one bring tears to my eyes. As a Filipino I'm so proud of his achievements, sacrifices and determination. I hope his journey inspire our politicians to do the things we deserved. Mabuhay ka WarBag 🇵🇭
I had to do the mock marine test during a football season at 16 in high school. It was the most debilitating and humiliating experience of my life. It showed me I’m capable of so much. Respect and love to all military personnel, those in service, and to our vets. God bless your souls for fighting for our freedom🙏
My younger brother was 2nd Recon Scout/Sniper and he is about that size. It is truly not the size but the bite.😅. God bless them all!
As a fellow Filipino-American, i salute Lance Cpl. Daihlig for his perseverance and dedication to becoming a Marine, and thank him for his continuous service.
This guy is giving me a motivation right now to finish my Navy bootcamp that will start in 3 days! I am also doing this to expedite my citizenship so I could petition my parents and will use my GI Bill to finish my Bachelor's degree in Nursing! I cried a lot after watching this video!
These are the best of times for the young man. As an American I’m so proud of him.❤
Filipinos are beasts
I have a few men in our family that were immigrants from south east Asia that served and still are serving the country that were born in Laos. I hear that the majority of the military force now are mostly minorities, or people that have immigrate parents. Thank you for your service and sacrifices.. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yes, recruits from US-born cirizens are dwindling since Bush's wars 10 years ago. High fatalities of our soldiers from those wars influenced the decline in applications from locals.
I had the strong urge to give a salute for this guy and I just did. Warbag may be small, but he is indeed terrible. One hell of a Marine. Thank you for your service, fellow countryman!
My 5'2" Filipina cousin graduated at West Point, she was denied of her dream, the Apache 64 due to height requirements but was later given a command while on tour in Kabul and did a heck of job.
I love this content, most people who are already prejudiced might not understand, I lived on military bases while my father served for 24 years, if it wasn’t for immigrants they would not function as well, and have the same values that the immigrant population and their children serving in the military have. ! Thanks for revealing the truth about military life, bases and support that ALL people share and support.
Why do I want to marry you?
He said im "ONLY" 6'1" like if 6'5" is Average Height 😂😂😂. My Cousin became a Marine at only 5'2"
I caught that too. If it was made in one of those northern tall people countries, it would make sense.
The Average height of a male in the US is 5'10". Only 14% of the population is 6 foot and above.
This man is a real American Hero, he came to America, and he is going to earn his citizenship, I salute you Devil Dog!
We are proud of you man! Small in stature but with a very big heart! 👍
OMG! This was so hard to watch. I was bawling. I am 5ft tall combat army veteran, pilipino and woman. I felt every moment, every grunt, every sore, blister and breathe how hard it was to complete every obstacle and think "I can do this!" THANK YOU SO MUCH whoever put this up.
5-Foot-3 Marine Corp vet here. Went through boot camp with a few guys the same high, and the company Gunny was about 5 foot 4. YATAYAS!! Or tracker for the ones that don't know. Went to my MOS school with 3 guys the same high as me. Used to call us the Mighty mouse platoon as we were the 3 squad leaders. The rest of the guys in the platoon were on the taller side. Not trying to say that Marine story should not be told, is a great story. Just not abnormal.
Height, not high
@@tommydong8070You’re in the wrong thread girlfriend.
As a 5' 0.75" man of Filipino descent, I am proud of you War Bag.

Congratulations Cpl Dahilig! You're such an inspiration!
You have proven that a hero's strength is measured by his heart. Mabuhay ang lahing hindi sumusuko!!! 👏 👏 👏
This little man is a hero in my eyes
Mad respect to you War Bag!! Thank you for your service to our country! Mabuhay ka Kabayan!
I’m 5’5” and boot camp was no issue. I wasn’t the shortest recruit. We had a 5’ 1” dude. I was the skinniest though. Weighted I’m at 109 lb when I checked in to boot camp, and left at 126 lb thanks to double rations. I was also my platoon’s scribe and iron man by scoring a 291 PFT. That’s was the last time I got that low of PFT score 😂 I loved my time in the corps, even if it was one enlistment.
16 years after graduating from boot camp, at 37 years old, I’m about to commission in the US Navy Reserves. The Marine Corps made that possible.
Semper Gumby, Devil
As a small veteran (5"4) it is a tough life he has ahead of him. My advice to this young Marine is to be careful as well as tough. Understand that the work you put in puts greater mileage on your body. I spent ten years in combat arms in the Army and now have a myriad of knee and back problems that are service connected. Don't regret a minute of it, but I would advise young troopers and Marines to be careful, make sure they are getting the core strength they need and load-distributing properly. Treat your body good now and it will treat you better in the long run.
Let's go! represent my brother Filipinos got heart of a lion, salute from Philippines!.. 🫡
It's so inspiring 👏👏
I'm 5 foot 5 inches, 164.5 cms.
For IPS in India the minimum height is 165cms. But, I'm definitely gonna crack Civil Services for sure.
Thanks for your service and inspiration Sir

As my hubby, a retired Marine Corps officer always says: Oo-rah! Great job, gentlemen…you’re still the best of America.
I am a filipino, and I am proud of your achievement praying for your success. I have two brothers who are in the military, a filipino elite soldier, and a rank police officer, and I myself and am a law officer in a foreign country. Mabuhay ka kabayan.🎉
Thank you to all marines for your service, heavily appreciated!
We should be absolutely embarrassed that his citizenship is still pending this long. It shouldn't take several months if you survived the hardest boot camp.
It's not really the hardest bootcamp anymore.
@@TheWorldsOkayestUSMarineOK Private Gomer….get back in line!!!
He's citizenship should have been on speed mode by now... wayyyy before his Marines Graduation. ❤❤definitely proud of this young man.
5'4" is not even all that short. I went to Army Boot Camp and later served in the same unit as a guy who was 5'1". He actually set the push-up records for the company during boot camp.
Well done man! Nothing is impossible in military training when you put your mind, energy and commitment to it.
as Filipino here in the ph I admire you for joining marines, that's my dream that grabbed to me and never happened. I Salute you bro
