I do meal prep, I shop every two- three weeks (I don't at this time have a garden or can items, however that's coming soon- we are moving to land in the next couple of weeks). When I come home I ask for all hands on deck and we work together to wash and prep all veggies and fruits. Its a long job, it takes all seven of us for about four hours to do the prep. However this is all done so that all meals and snack are ready to go. We have been doing this for about three and half years and it is so wonderful to know we have all the things we need and we can relax about our meals going forward. I have a large lock and lock veggie tray that I refill about ever 6 days or so, this is a game changer for me. I just started this about two months ago and its wonderful. I pull from it for lunches, quiches, bulk up salads, snacks... but not actual "meals". I prep by wash and lay things out to dry. I will make a fruit salad with items that we will use in the beginning of the week and keep apples and oranges clean for when those more perishable able fruits are eaten. I will cut up broccoli and cauliflower ahead for roasting. I have learned of these years to know what to have in the home to make meals from and now its just about restocking and doing bulk shopping and ordering when things are on sale. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and idea!!! I enjoyed learning new things to add
@@aleshalipsky1684 thank you for taking the time to type this out! I greatly appreciate you sharing. I also do a veggie tray in the summer when we’re flush with cucumbers and other veggies, but don’t have one going currently. The kids LOVE it for quick snacking.
@@marshabryant9429 thank you so much!! I honestly spend a lot of time trying to decide what will be helpful to others versus just recording whatever I’m doing, so I really appreciate this feedback!
I make a menu every 2 weeks. I'll make a list of what I have in both freezers and pantry. I like to have crock pot meals. Especially on the busy days or in my case, when all I do is sleep. I have chronic fatigue, so meal planning and meal prep make my life easy.
You will rarely find me at Sam’s, I’m more of a pickup girl! We live about an hour out. I hope you took away something useful, and I will look forward to seeing you back soon!
Thank you! The one I have is no longer available, but this one offers the same features and has great reviews plus is listed at a MAJOR sale price! amzn.to/4hofERB (affiliate link)
I can see how that would add a different layer of consideration! I would suggest making a regular size meal and freezing the leftovers for a future date. I did this recently with a pork roast and having pulled pork when needed has been super helpful. Thanks for watching, hopefully I will see you back soon!
One is a banana and here is the other. They’re amazing and taste like a bell pepper but take less time to come to maturity. I will grow these from now on! www.rareseeds.com/pepper-sweet-giant-aconcagua

I check the weather forecast also. This is such a good video especially for those of us who learn more by seeing the process.

Thanks for inspiring me to think about prepping on a more consistent schedule. Even as empty nesters meal prepping saves us so much time and money.

Random, but could you tell me how big your secondary freezer is? It looks so spacious!
@@kaylawalden4599 I have several. 🫣
The standup is really large. I think it’s around 24 cubic feet?
How did you cook the tri tip?
I seared it on all sides and finished it in the oven. I use a digital meat thermometer to get the temp right and it comes out amazing every time!
What are those yellow peppers you were cutting?
