The music is sublime. Helen Grimaud is very beautiful, and her playing is remarkable. I am truly overwhelmed.

I think that it is accepted that Helene is the best interpreter of Brahms today. This is exquisite!! Thank you, Helene.

I want to go to bed but I can't; it's too beautiful. I guess I'll listen to the end.

Brahms himself would have been captivated.

Best performance on RUclips. In my opinion, better than Sokolov's or Gilels'.

I agree, better than Sokolov who plays the intermezzi far too slowly in my opinion

I just had the opportunity to hear Helene play these Fantasies live in Los Angeles on 4/19/23. The audience, myself included, was blown away. They hooped and hollered through four curtain calls and three encores. She was mesmerizing!!

@@barbaraglynn1531 Wow! I saw her play them in Ann Arbor. Weather was execrable, the dampers were sticking, she was constantly adjusting the seat. The audience . . .well, Horowitz rated Ann Arbor audiences as the most clueless. Despite all that, she started vocalizing louder than Glenn Gould ever did and seemed to will the piano and the piece into shape. Extraordinary dedication.

116/6 much too slow. Andantino. Walking. And the final crescendo too soon and too big. It's only forte.

andante and andantino are not the same.

No.6 is on the slower end of the spectrum but not so much that it is under tempo. If any are under, then it’s No.4, otherwise all seven pieces are played exquisitely.

I more have an issue with how she delays every bass note by a millisecond…. very infuriating
