I upgraded from a fogstar 100 to a fogstar drift 230ah....which incredibly is delivering over 250ah and apparently is a thing with fogstars that you get over the stated ah. The Campervancodgers are good humans who have hearts of gold, we met them through this community and they have become close friends who have shown us and many others kindness so they deserve a little Christmas present!!! We where already on those settings as our previous battery was already lifepo4 just smaller in size, the only thing we had to do was change the settings in the victron equipment for the size of the battery

Hi massive fan of your channel...just got myself the numberplate flippers..carpark reasons 😆 could you tell me what size cable you orderd to extend the cable for the rear plate lots ov love from me and my day van 🎉
You should of got the active balancer with the battery, it should come with this battery, mine did. You plug it in every few months to rebalanced the cells.
@ oh cool. Do you find it better than other dc to dc you have used? Iam running the Renogy 60amp charger but unsure if my updated 180amp alternator is ok with it. Any suggestions? Sorry for all the questions but Neil is right crafter all the way 💪🏼💪🏼
It’s a funny one with the new 50 amp one we are still unsure on it as sometimes it gives good numbers like 48/49 but sometimes it doesn’t currently driving and it’s giving 9.4 so we are still trying it out as we have had to reset it a few times. You currently have 60 amp which is what we previously had with the 2 x 30 amps. If your getting good numbers off it stick with it
Always good to do your own research for your own personal needs we always say that, but we have been with fogstar for a few years now and we can’t fault them.

@@chris-e8v3z it will, I have had 2 for a long time now. Cheaper and without a silly name. All the cells are made in china anyway. Eco worthy are grade A, confirmed as I took both batteries apart to see the barcode and workmanship etc.
We full-time with 700 watts of solar and 270 amps of lithium batteries, we use a 1600 inverter/charger b to b etc victron . Never been below 70%. 8 x kettle a day, 1 coffee machine, slow cooker 3 times a week, frying pan, ironing, all lights, charging 2x phones 2x tablets. Etc . The important thing is the solar and a smart alternator. Ps we have no problem even through the winter .
Although we have up plated the van and are now at 4320kg instead of 3500kg we still have to think weight and they are two completely different batteries, we could of put 2 560’s together but these have different BMS’s inside
Awesome vid as always guys , I’m currently on a van build with the 560 battery how long do it last if you was to say run 12v lights and a tv say without it being charged ? Thanks im looking into getting one but not a full time van lifer not sure if that will be over kill , thanks guys ❤
We had the 560ah fogstar prior to this and that full time in Ireland running everything we lasted 12 days of grid without a lot of driving and not the best weather for the solar to top it up.
Yer but we won’t have to worry cos if a 40ft wagon has a blow out that could be the last of us We also don’t live our lives on what ifs and maybes . I mean what if we don’t wake up tomorrow . It’s Al been a pointless worrry hasn’t it
So the subtle hint here is this persons user name - from the boating community which pretty much only use Victron stuff. My concern would be I don’t think watching your previous videos you have a single suitable fuse for a lithium ion battery of this size. Lithium ion is amazing because it has al its no internal resistance - ok in a English that means you can charge it fast with lots of electricity going in to fill it up same as discharging or using it. You can run powerful stuff of them and use inverters to run powerful stuff off - like induction hobs. You can’t do this with normal old fashioned lead acid or similar ‘leisure batteries’. So the problem - if you have a short circuit all the energy in this battery can empty out of it almost instantly. The ‘short circuit’ amperage that comes out is thought to be between 10-20 times the amount your battery says it has. Mega fuses and other ones melt at this high current and then the electric simply jumps across them (arcs). So basically you need a T-class or MGBF at the positive terminal of the battery. MGBF are Marine grade battery fuses - hence maybe why this original persons comment was well informed and shouldn’t be dismissed.
So I’m guessing our blue sea mrbf fuse block will have us covered . No one knows the extent of our electrical system or what we have or don’t have fitted most see what we show them . The same goes with the whole van people only see what we show them . We don’t offer electrical advice and never have so we don’t go in to specifics cos people will do what we do . So by leaving a lot out it meant they have to actually do some reserch. But we will defend our selves when some one comes out with a stupid comment like the previous person and adding no real advice apart from if it explodes your done for .
@@UrbanVanlife Hey Jedi maybe it would of been better to explain to your subs how you protect the battery rather than trying to be a smart ass ! One sub has already explained on your behalf ! You Jedi's are a different breed :)
@UrbanVanlife only if you've isolated both leads. If your spanner bridges earth to earth not much happens so you disconnect it first (& reconnect last) but if your spanner bridges battery live to earth problems happen, even if the live lead is isolated.
Sorry but we have already given it to someone who hasn’t helped us in the past as we show later on in the video, and I think they have already forwarded theirs onto someone too who hasn’t got much either.

280ah is still a lot of power and we did okay before full time on 280ah
@@mpjkea2000 ive got a renogy b2b 50a and 560 watt of solar panels being dropped off in the morning so i wont be far off you then.cheers
Hi guys,if you are selling your 560ah I would like to buy it. 🙏
Not a problem at all . But before we do that just watch all the video then come back to us . Thanks
Hahaha just got to the part 😅
Arrrrrrr and found no battery lol
😂
What's the cost?
Think they have the sales on at the moment, so not 100 percent sure but around £1280
Can I get your old battery please
Guessing you didn’t watch all the video then . Also why would you have deserved it.
5:28 no Vaseline?
why not just connect both of them so have even more power?
Although we have up plated the van and are now at 4320kg instead of 3500kg we still have to think weight and they are two completely different batteries, we could of put 2 560’s together but these have different BMS’s inside
Krafter - Sprinter. Same same but different
Very true 😂😂 Neil’s just being cheeky 😂😂
@@UrbanVanlife I thought as much but couldn't resist someone having a go hahahaha, swap badges while your there
Awesome vid as always guys , I’m currently on a van build with the 560 battery how long do it last if you was to say run 12v lights and a tv say without it being charged ? Thanks im looking into getting one but not a full time van lifer not sure if that will be over kill , thanks guys ❤
We had the 560ah fogstar prior to this and that full time in Ireland running everything we lasted 12 days of grid without a lot of driving and not the best weather for the solar to top it up.
Blimey they last that long wow , ok that’s good to know then, thank you for a quick response ❤
Much Cheaper to buy two 300ah then just one
Ours is 660 plus you then need double the cables also double the space and it’s in my opinion false economy . Kind of like have in 2x1ltr engines
may I have your old battery please guys mine are dead
Sorry Gary but as we show in the video it’s already gone to its new home
so 7.5kw/h. nice
I wonder if our Chinese friends would ever shut off our batteries?
They also make the micro chips that go into most electronic items, wonder if they can make them malfunction also
QVC - buy a battery or buy some green slime😢
Links are in the description, wasn’t aware QVC gave out free lithium batteries, defo add to our watch list, thanks and happy new year!
That thing is multifunctional as it will also take you and the van to the moon when it explodes :)
Yer but we won’t have to worry cos if a 40ft wagon has a blow out that could be the last of us
We also don’t live our lives on what ifs and maybes .
@@robertfrost5020 You will upset him telling the truth like that :)
3:11 it's safer to take the earth off first.
If the battery’s isolated it dosnt matter
@UrbanVanlife only if you've isolated both leads.
If your spanner bridges earth to earth not much happens so you disconnect it first (& reconnect last) but if your spanner bridges battery live to earth problems happen, even if the live lead is isolated.
I also have a gel battery WRONG di watch video
If you did watch the video then you would know our previous battery had gone to other ppl .
how about sending me your old battery. as i have no money to buy anything.
Sorry but we have already given it to someone who hasn’t helped us in the past as we show later on in the video, and I think they have already forwarded theirs onto someone too who hasn’t got much either.
Fogstar has poor service. You can wait for weeks for a email reply, if you are even lucky enough to receive one. I'm waiting for a reply to a email from 24/10/2024. Disgusting service.
Sorry to hear this. Can’t say we have ever heard this from anyone else who has ever dealt with them before, we have only ever dealt with them through Facebook, instagram and phone and have always had a prompt response.
Yawn..,..,..
Past your bed time is it poppet.
It's all stitch stop it
I’d love to give you a genuine reply but could you give us a comment we can understand
👋Emma & Neil, Inviromentally savi /Lovely gesture passing on a perfectly good battery 🪫 (saves it going to be dismantled or landfill ). Called a hoover in Paisley & Birkenhead where my Mum came from. 👍🫶🏻🏴Jan
Thanks Jan, we also believe the other couple have passed their batteries on to someone who needed them too, so it’s an on going circle ♥️♥️
