Watching this Orthodox edit of HolyName's video has been an enlightening experience. As a Catholic, this band has lead me to to the depth of Orthodox spirituality, and it's been a profound influence on my own musical journey. You'll find a familiar quote at the end of my last video I uploaded!

You should become Orthodox and come home ☦

@@SwoleSlim I am home :) Our parents (our fathers, not the Heavenly Father) are in some disagreement but we're both in His house, hoping one day to be one!

@@EternalArchetypeMusic Our understanding of God is radically different, our approaches to theology, prayer etc., are very different. Unfortunately Rome has fallen, and the grace has slowly leaked out over the centuries. May you see how many forgeries and lies that the papacy was built upon and come home.

@@SwoleSlim This is the endless problem with the Catholic vs. Orthodox debate, we go back to the same place as in the 11th century, both claiming the same thing you're claiming and both excommunicating each other. I personally believe "you guys" should have accepted the papal authority and the medieval popes should have kept humility (as JP2 and now Francis do). Imagine, we'd be East and West united.
Our Catholicism is papable, we're the only church that's truly universal, we have one head on earth, one body of consistent teaching, and we're in every culture, every country. This is (lowercase) catholicism as it should be, and the Orthodox lack it.
But the Orthodox have such beautiful and rich tradition, the appeal to Protestants who want to go beyond what modern Catholic liturgies offer, and some of your theological views resonate better in a culture that is post-Christian.
Sorry for the dissertation, it's just sad that in 1,000 years we seem to be in the same place as the Great Schism, and we should try our best to realize we're in the same home, and try to see the entirety of the home and not just "our" sides.

@@EternalArchetypeMusic I wholeheartedly disgaree that we should have accepted the universal papal supremacy that is lined out in present days Vatican I. That did not exist for the first 1000 years and even presently doesn't exist to be completely honest. Universal jurisdiction over the entire church and universal temporal power?
Orthodoxy is fully Catholic, before Vatican II you have almost no hold to that as almost everyone was forced to pray the mass in Latin instead of the vernacular. Absurdity that you would claim that's more universal than Orthodoxy. And not to mention that every objection you have against Orthodoxy is an objection you have with the first millennium Church. It was always a conciliar model not a Papal form for Church decisions.
The Orthodox Church has retained the traditions of the first millennium all the way till this very day, that is why it appeals to the Protestants. They look back at Church history and see that the Vatican I papacy is nowhere to be found and then they come home to Orthodoxy.
The reason we keep having to come back to this topic is because it is simply the closest ground we have. From the 1054 split we have not been on the same track and the Latins have shifted further from the truth. Your own church agrees that EO holds to the 1st millennium traditions as lined out in the Chieti and Alexandria documents signed off by the Papacy.
Even the prior Pope Benedict XVI said "These Churches have an authentic doctrine, but it is static, petrified as it were. They remain faithful to the tradition of the first Christian millennium, but they reject later developments on the grounds that Catholics decided upon these developments without them..."
So to say we are in the same home is untrue, you hold to the innovations of the Latins while we remain true to the teachings and faith of the true apostolic Church.
