For those of you here to avoid filler: If you watch the first 19mins of this video, that should leave you at episode 158 of the anime where (I believe) there is no more aggressive amounts of filler (just the normal amount). And yes, that DOES mean that it took the anime 157 episode to cover less than 19mins of content.

@Dozer Mramur I'm a fan of Baruto because of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. The main reason a lot if a original fans didn't like Boruto was simply due to pacing. On the other hand I think Boruto's fighs are beautiful to watch you feel every hit the emotion behind the fight hits hard many times the heart braking reality of the world they live in has brought a tear to my eye. But alas I think both are great anime but for almost completely different reasons.

The story is honestly not bad, what I think the issue with Boruto is, that it just deviated from the original shinobi style fights and values, into this alien, ninja tools type of whatever, something that actually started in the war arc of Naruto Shippuden, but still was bareable. Power scaling is just out of this world and it really kills the vibe for many people.
What did you expect ep1 seeing a bright orange “ninja” should have cleared that shit out just because you have the observation skills of a mole doesn’t mean the power scaling was unexpected I was ready for this shit since chapter 1 we also had giant ass island to mountain range sized toads in arc two arc three we had shock waves from a scream deleting large areas

Guys Boruto is a monthly manga, it means that it takes one entire year to the writer to make 12 chapters, and one episode usually uses 2 manga chapters. So it would have 6-10 episodes in a year it was 100% canon. But the anime is to tell stories that the manga can't tell, for example Boruto starts already in the chunnin examen, so the anime tells everything that happened when Boruto wasn't even a Genin yet.

Elite vid. But the anime isn’t mostly filler. In fact the first 18 episode are actually super important. There’s other anime stuff like the death of Onoki, Victor and Deepa Kara members, Sarada unlocking her 2nd tomoe, Boruto’s dojutsu, Mitsuki’s Sage Mode etc.
It’s sad because boruto has actually been pretty good in the anime since the Kara actuation started episode 157. That arc is anime cannon but provided some much needed depth to the mangas story. Victor Ao and mugino were all made better and made people actually care about these characters. When the anime started adapting the manga stuff it was made better in the anime then it was in the manga in many places because the anime added much more depth to the story. So if you watch boruto I would say don’t skip the Kara actuation arc it’s starts off weak but it gets good at up Ep 163. Trust me the arc makes the manga better
@@alexdavis6578 Really Imo i think the only Acrs/episodes that are worth watching in the boruto anime are the Sarada Uchiha Arc, Graduation Exams Arc, Chūnin Exams Arc, Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc, Mujina Bandits Arc Kara Actuation Arc and of course the vessel arc that's 7 out of 18 arcs in the anime that are iMO worth watching these are the only arcs that actually effect the story in a good way. The other arcs don't really matter and you can skip them and you would miss nothing.

I’m finding out even more about Boruto and his classmates personalities and challenges that got them to this point and so far Sarada and ChouChou has my favorite development in the show so far!

I enjoyed the nostalgia and watching the interactions between boruto and Naruto and ofc seeing jiraiya again. Also I liked when Sasuke actually saw Naruto pushing himself to become stronger after he left the village. And boruto seeing Naruto’s kyuubi form. I feel like the time travel arc is definitely underrated.

The thing I like about Boruto is the character development, the anime gives us more of the characters then the manga did, like Sumire trying to destroy the village, Metal trying to get over his anxiety. When Mugino's death came around in the manga he was just some background character, but in the anime he was someone who ended up creating a bond with Boruto, his team, and the viewers so we don't see him as just another ninja that died.

Wanna know something I've always realized boruto and sarada are wearing their clothes from part 1 of boruto in the manga but in the anime after they become ninja they change it in the anime
I have mixed feeling about that lol. I don't really like their new, or rather, current outfits that much. Mainly because their jackets (mostly Boruto and Shikadai) go over their ninja "bags" that carried their weapons and stuff so it looks awkward (they look like they got implant lmao) . And because of that I preferred thier manga outfits but not only for that reason. Since the manga is a still illustration they could add more details and I find that they have more character there. The sole problem is Sarada lol, as people have pointed out, she is very sexualized in the manga so here comes my own preference: I like the their character designs *on the first few episodes in the anime* Sarada's outfit was toned down but still kept faithful (just a nitpick but I hate the new gloves they gave her, notice how the early anime she has 2 different kinds of gloves? Since she throws punches, one is like her moms while the other looks like Sasuke's when he was young lol, I like that touch). Also I felt like by removing the quirkiness in their outfits they just became stale (duh), if u notice, Boruto in the manga wears a lot of bands on his wrists and even on his ankle (also him and kawaki have matching shoes! I haven't noticed if it's the same for the other boys but I really found it cute), Sarada's scarf I find really extra and I love it, I feel like they should've at least replaced that with a choker lol. I think it would've looked cute with her hair since they decided to make it short anyway, if u can't play with the hair add extra shit like earrings etc so they can pop jeez. I'm only glad they kept Mitsuki the most faithful (I don't think they knew what to change lmao). Also EXTRA: RIP Inojin's overalls, I really liked it on him 😔, it gave that artist vibes even tho he lookes like his mom so it feels very balanced and original on his part. Goddamit why'd they have to change that. Ok artist rant over. If anyone even read this lol.
I grew up with Naruto and I was so excited to see him become an adult, a husband, and a father now that I am about to do the same things. I tried watching the Boruto anime, but was so turned off by the filler, that I gave up entirely. This video saved me from completely writing off Boruto and it reignited my passion for the continuing story of Naruto and his family and friends.

I'mma be honest. I expected the video to cover the Anime Canon as well BUT thank you for covering this Manga because some people trash both or one over the other. In the end, people will come watch the fight scenes animated.
I'm actually impressed that Kishimoto has the guts to go the dragon ball route and suddenly make the stories about aliens and sci-fi, also I do think it is cool that he tried something different with the ninja tech. With that being said, i do think that Boruto hasn't really managed to leave much of an impression on me, though that might be due to loosing a lot of faith in the series towards the end of Naruto and a lot of the stuff i didn't like about Narutos end still carries over to this series (though it does feel like Kishimoto is aware of that, hence why towards the end people start loosing their op powers).
Kishimoto had a lot of inspiration from db and DBZ so it's normal but with the kaguya and otsutsukis plots holes okyo kodashi (the principal author of boruto but kishimoto was assistant (now is taking the hand of boruto)) clarify all these plots holes okyo kodashi wouldn't not start a series without saying any words on this

@@coldplayfan7357 In my observation and humble opinion, the core of Naruto as a series, and by extension the Shippuden storyline, is about relationships, in particular, how people relate to Naruto or how Naruto relates to them. Nearly every major story arc features some kind of complex dynamic of friendship , frenemies, rivalries, romances , etc. The focus of the Naruto storyline is about community building and how Naruto decides to put himself in the middle of it all. Even from the high level synopsis provided by this video, it seems pretty clear to me that Boruto doesn't hold a candle to his father. To that extent, I'm really not interested in Boruto as a series. The storytelling structure doesn't seem to keep me on the edge of my seat in the same way. Perhaps it's because I've grown and changed, or perhaps it's because Boruto's story hasn't. Granted, especially toward the end of the Naruto Shippuden story, the formula that I mentioned left the story highly predictable and certainly less interesting than the first several seasons of Naruto. I could easily go long stretches before binging to catch up. On the other hand, it makes sense that Boruto hasn't changed it's formula from Naruto at all, if that's actually the problem, because that seems to be the status quo of contemporary anime these days, carbon copies of carbon copies of carbon copies. Copies. How many different isakai do I need to watch? Some anime even presumptuously assume they've already seen other anime of the same genre, especially in isakai, such that they make tropish references to known genre features, literally. I couldn't expect anything more from Boruto, as a copy of the original story, could I? At least One Piece is telling an original story with original characters.

I actually liked naruto fillers. I know not many people would love them since they want to see the actual plot of the series, but I personally love how it gives the anime a slice of life kind of feel and also lets us get to know each character in depth. There would be times when I would rewatch some of the fillers aswell. And i absolutely love the fact that more fillers means the anime won't end anytime soon and as a late naruto fan i also get the chance to grow up with it.
One of my favorite Naruto filler episodes is the one where Itachi tries to fry a perfect egg, this episode literally taught me how to fry my first egg when I was a child and I felt very proud
I can't even imagine the amount of time you had to put into this, you are awesome. You should consider doing more of these recaps for other manga as well. It's great for people who'd like to get caught up but don't have the time to read all the chapters. I would suggest One Peice but I'm sure that would have to be a multi part video.
It might be good...but I won't advise it as one piece is an action filled adventure where watching it gives it the utmost feel of goodness...I won't say the anime is the best I would only give it a 8.5/10 coz there are many cons But the manga is so good and is perfect in every way...as how a manga should be...one piece is an anime that has to be thoroughly enjoyed and not to watch in the sake of watching...

The pacing in the manga is actually so good and the stakes feel really high each time, not to mention the plot twists and revelations. Probably should've just been reading the manga and waiting for the fight scenes to come out on RUclips tbh

Elite vid. But the anime isn’t mostly filler. In fact the first 18 episode are actually super important. There’s other anime stuff like the death of Onoki, Victor and Deepa Kara members, Sarada unlocking her 2nd tomoe, Boruto’s dojutsu, Mitsuki’s Sage Mode etc.

Mhmm! Boruto is actually a great anime/manga, it just has a bad outlook sadly
It’s sad because boruto has actually been pretty good in the anime since the Kara actuation started episode 157. That arc is anime cannon but provided some much needed depth to the mangas story. Victor Ao and mugino were all made better and made people actually care about these characters. When the anime started adapting the manga stuff it was made better in the anime then it was in the manga in many places because the anime added much more depth to the story. So if you watch boruto I would say don’t skip the Kara actuation arc it’s starts off weak but it gets good at up Ep 163. Trust me the arc makes the manga better
It’s been good since episode 1 the world just started to go back to its old ways thanks to Kara.
@@alexdavis6578 Really Imo i think the only Acrs/episodes that are worth watching in the boruto anime are the Sarada Uchiha Arc, Graduation Exams Arc, Chūnin Exams Arc, Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc, Mujina Bandits Arc Kara Actuation Arc and of course the vessel arc that's 7 out of 18 arcs in the anime that are iMO worth watching
these are the only arcs that actually effect the story in a good way. The other arcs don't really matter and you can skip them and you would miss nothing.

I’m finding out even more about Boruto and his classmates personalities and challenges that got them to this point and so far Sarada and ChouChou has my favorite development in the show so far!

I enjoyed the nostalgia and watching the interactions between boruto and Naruto and ofc seeing jiraiya again. Also I liked when Sasuke actually saw Naruto pushing himself to become stronger after he left the village. And boruto seeing Naruto’s kyuubi form. I feel like the time travel arc is definitely underrated.

The thing I like about Boruto is the character development, the anime gives us more of the characters then the manga did, like Sumire trying to destroy the village, Metal trying to get over his anxiety. When Mugino's death came around in the manga he was just some background character, but in the anime he was someone who ended up creating a bond with Boruto, his team, and the viewers so we don't see him as just another ninja that died.

Wanna know something I've always realized boruto and sarada are wearing their clothes from part 1 of boruto in the manga but in the anime after they become ninja they change it in the anime
I have mixed feeling about that lol. I don't really like their new, or rather, current outfits that much. Mainly because their jackets (mostly Boruto and Shikadai) go over their ninja "bags" that carried their weapons and stuff so it looks awkward (they look like they got implant lmao) . And because of that I preferred thier manga outfits but not only for that reason. Since the manga is a still illustration they could add more details and I find that they have more character there. The sole problem is Sarada lol, as people have pointed out, she is very sexualized in the manga so here comes my own preference: I like the their character designs *on the first few episodes in the anime* Sarada's outfit was toned down but still kept faithful (just a nitpick but I hate the new gloves they gave her, notice how the early anime she has 2 different kinds of gloves? Since she throws punches, one is like her moms while the other looks like Sasuke's when he was young lol, I like that touch). Also I felt like by removing the quirkiness in their outfits they just became stale (duh), if u notice, Boruto in the manga wears a lot of bands on his wrists and even on his ankle (also him and kawaki have matching shoes! I haven't noticed if it's the same for the other boys but I really found it cute), Sarada's scarf I find really extra and I love it, I feel like they should've at least replaced that with a choker lol. I think it would've looked cute with her hair since they decided to make it short anyway, if u can't play with the hair add extra shit like earrings etc so they can pop jeez. I'm only glad they kept Mitsuki the most faithful (I don't think they knew what to change lmao). Also EXTRA: RIP Inojin's overalls, I really liked it on him 😔, it gave that artist vibes even tho he lookes like his mom so it feels very balanced and original on his part. Goddamit why'd they have to change that. Ok artist rant over. If anyone even read this lol.

I grew up with Naruto and I was so excited to see him become an adult, a husband, and a father now that I am about to do the same things. I tried watching the Boruto anime, but was so turned off by the filler, that I gave up entirely. This video saved me from completely writing off Boruto and it reignited my passion for the continuing story of Naruto and his family and friends.

I'mma be honest. I expected the video to cover the Anime Canon as well BUT thank you for covering this Manga because some people trash both or one over the other. In the end, people will come watch the fight scenes animated.
As more of the manga comes out, please continue to make updates to this. This is perfect for the level of interest I have in the series.
I'm actually impressed that Kishimoto has the guts to go the dragon ball route and suddenly make the stories about aliens and sci-fi, also I do think it is cool that he tried something different with the ninja tech.
With that being said, i do think that Boruto hasn't really managed to leave much of an impression on me, though that might be due to loosing a lot of faith in the series towards the end of Naruto and a lot of the stuff i didn't like about Narutos end still carries over to this series (though it does feel like Kishimoto is aware of that, hence why towards the end people start loosing their op powers).
Kishimoto had a lot of inspiration from db and DBZ so it's normal but with the kaguya and otsutsukis plots holes okyo kodashi (the principal author of boruto but kishimoto was assistant (now is taking the hand of boruto)) clarify all these plots holes okyo kodashi wouldn't not start a series without saying any words on this

I unfortunately fell out of love with Boruto as an angsty wanna be Naruto fanfiction a long time ago; I couldn't even make it past the third episode without getting literally sick to my stomach. @@coldplayfan7357 In my observation and humble opinion, the core of Naruto as a series, and by extension the Shippuden storyline, is about relationships, in particular, how people relate to Naruto or how Naruto relates to them. Nearly every major story arc features some kind of complex dynamic of friendship , frenemies, rivalries, romances , etc. The focus of the Naruto storyline is about community building and how Naruto decides to put himself in the middle of it all. Even from the high level synopsis provided by this video, it seems pretty clear to me that Boruto doesn't hold a candle to his father. To that extent, I'm really not interested in Boruto as a series. The storytelling structure doesn't seem to keep me on the edge of my seat in the same way. Perhaps it's because I've grown and changed, or perhaps it's because Boruto's story hasn't. Granted, especially toward the end of the Naruto Shippuden story, the formula that I mentioned left the story highly predictable and certainly less interesting than the first several seasons of Naruto. I could easily go long stretches before binging to catch up. On the other hand, it makes sense that Boruto hasn't changed it's formula from Naruto at all, if that's actually the problem, because that seems to be the status quo of contemporary anime these days, carbon copies of carbon copies of carbon copies. Copies. How many different isakai do I need to watch? Some anime even presumptuously assume they've already seen other anime of the same genre, especially in isakai, such that they make tropish references to known genre features, literally. I couldn't expect anything more from Boruto, as a copy of the original story, could I? At least One Piece is telling an original story with original characters.
I have read better fanfiction than Boruto....and thats sad.

I actually liked naruto fillers. I know not many people would love them since they want to see the actual plot of the series, but I personally love how it gives the anime a slice of life kind of feel and also lets us get to know each character in depth. There would be times when I would rewatch some of the fillers aswell. And i absolutely love the fact that more fillers means the anime won't end anytime soon and as a late naruto fan i also get the chance to grow up with it.
One of my favourite episodes is the ramen making competition where Naruto keeps molding the dough into the likes of Kakashi and Jiraiya.
One of my favorite Naruto filler episodes is the one where Itachi tries to fry a perfect egg, this episode literally taught me how to fry my first egg when I was a child and I felt very proud
the og naruto fillers were really good, but the most of the shippuden fillers... not so much
I can't even imagine the amount of time you had to put into this, you are awesome. You should consider doing more of these recaps for other manga as well. It's great for people who'd like to get caught up but don't have the time to read all the chapters. I would suggest One Peice but I'm sure that would have to be a multi part video.
It might be good...but I won't advise it as one piece is an action filled adventure where watching it gives it the utmost feel of goodness...I won't say the anime is the best I would only give it a 8.5/10 coz there are many cons
