Just for clarity 80LPA is the cost to company(CTC), this is the amount company have to spend on u on yearly basis to acquire u not the amount of money to be transferred into ur bank account😊. In that 80 LPA 35-40% are esops, joining bonus, tax deduction, PF deduction. These podcast shorts are presented with partial info just to spice up content and gain attraction. As an SDE , Try to be more and more technically sounded with ur experience, money will follow eventually. But please don’t chase the package with unrealistic expectation😊

First of all as an engineer getting similar salaries working at us based company. I think if you are getting a feeling that you are getting more than you deserve then obviously you are... My maternal uncle is working as a director of sales in Godrej, which is one of the largest real estate company in India and his monthly salary is around 1 crore.. Many lawyers in district court in my city are earning around 5 - 10 lacs per month.. Many freelancers in software engineering are making crore a year.. You can just go and check in upwork.. Yes but that require a lot of skills but you should see that most of them are from grade 3 college. Software engineering jobs are good, even I am also into this job but influencers are making it too much...

Like it or not, money is a huge part of your life and one tends to encash on his/her skill. That’s natural. I know engineers are supposed to be problem solvers and all that, but what you are not taking into account is that big companies and startup’s in tech solve interesting problems everyday, it’s not like there’s nothing much to do in big tech.
