But I totally agree with you, the book is just the book. For me personally I don’t need to get every variant of the same book. But to each it’s own.

Dude, I haven't physically collected comics in years. The only books I invest into are any Star Wars hardcovers I manage to find. Awesome video brother))
Thanks Ben! Yes I love Star War Comics a lot. Marvel Star Wars is great nowadays. I really enjoyed the Jason Aaron run from 2015. Also, the Darth Vader series is amazing as well. I really liked Charles Doyle’s run. The whole idea of making a kyber crystal bleed to make it red was so cool!
Canadian price variants are extremely scarce, especially DC 1986 to 1988 books. Finding high grade copies is very difficult. Canadian variants are going to see dramatic price increases in the next 10 years.
I don’t have any Whitman’s but I’ll have to check them out..

Whitman comics were not reprints. Marvel books sold in bagged sets were early direct versions. They were sold at shops and in bagged sets. Only DC only had Whitman logos on their books (except for a few treasuries) And FYI, there are Canadian Price Variants for Whitman books published in 1984 (and they were only sold in packs)

Yup Whitman did those too, but if I’m not mistaken, golden key was the original publisher of those licensed comics

Canadian variants? Y'know whats weird, they were pawning those copies at Toys R Us as well as their own custom collected versions! I still have my Transformers Generation 2 comics with Snakeeyes still sealed!

Pretty sure I have a couple Whitman issues. All my comics are Canadian price....
As for the newstand/direct market issues, even buying direct from my lcs I got some of each.
One company I would like to complete is Charlton, even the none supers.

@@Dante19883 I might be off on the Canadian price topic, most, if not all, my comics have both (or three if you count the U.K.) prices on them. Just thought I'd clarify myself.
One more question; any idea how to confirm the Canadian price thing? I was looking through and the Punisher mini from '85 has a variety of prices on every issue. But then they were confused on how many issues were in it as well.

Are the whitman star wars issues all reprints? I have a star wars 16 with a blank upc box
Yes they are.. to my knowledge the UPC was meant only for books sold on the newsstand. Books sold as Whitmans in packs of 3 had no UPC
@@Dante19883 I have been checking cgc grades star wars whitman's, it seems star wars whitman were reprints from issues 1 to about 7, as they had the blank upc plus they had the word "reprint" listed along side the character logo on top front left of cover. Cgc notes it as a reprint. From that point on though it seems they are no longer reprints as cgc does not note a reprint designation and the books dont have the word reprint by the character logo anymore
