Hey, thanks for your comment. If you do it, just pull the tongue out a little bit, it's enough to flatten it. Don't pull it out so much until it hurts. :-) It's a great trick to get high notes better with a modern sound. Have fun practicing! 😀
Hey, thanks for reaching out! Yes, it is, because it takes such a little thing to change the sound of the voice :-). It's the first exercise I teach new students, who had classical vocal lessons before and want to learn how to get a contemporary sound. Because they are so used to keep their tongue down & back, they first need to get aware that the contemporary singing tongue placement is different: flat, more to the front and higher. This way they are able to create a modern sound. This is especially helpful for classical singers, who want to sing high rock songs.
Cool, I'm happy, if I can help. If you try it, please don't pull the tongue out too much, so that it hurts. A little bit is totally fine. I once had a student with a strong Bavarian accent and she could not sing the eeees and eys, because the way she was used to speak kept her tongue almost always in the back. This exercise really helped her.
I'll definitely try this thanks 😊

I did this tongue thing with a tissue today :-D
Hi, if you did it with a Tempo, I know the struggle 😅 But I hope it still helped. Best wishes! Anna 😊
@@VocalCoachAnnaG@VocalCoachAnnaG For me, it isn't a struggle. I have a warm-up here, and she demonstrated the same thing. It is a good stretch.
Great, that it helped! (Bei mir bleibt das Tempo Taschentuch an der Zunge kleben, das habe ich mit struggle gemeint, haha).
