This is exactly what I tell my kids. 0-0, 2-0 especially. So many times I find myself saying "That's not an 0-0, 2-0, 3-1 swing." They are afraid to take what they believe the ump will call a strike and get behind
I have a mlb the show baserunning tip I saw from Twin Gaming TV. He held the left stick back ( as in return when picking off ) so as soon as the pitcher picks off, you automatically go back. But if he lifts his leg up, only when he wants to steal, he moves the left stick right to steal so he doesn't get picked off. You can also still extend the lead while holding the left stick back. Thanks. I look forward to your videos every day.👍
Great tips. And you are so right. Batters over look this and swing at the first pitch and develop this bad habit and pitchers will catch on that the batter swings at first pitch and pitcher who is team oriented will pitch to the batters weakness. Advantage of waiting for your pitch is pitchers are human and the more pitches they have to throw more chance they make a mistake and throw the hitter what they want anyway. Keep up the great vids. You should do a video on loading on different types of pitchers. I think a lot of hitters could benefit on this as it separates the great hitters from the good hitters.
@@AntonelliBaseball I more than got it. I play in 2 leagues. One league is 27 & up, and the other league is 40 & up. I always preach to my teammates about taking the 1st pitch for exactly some the reason you explained, and also for some of the reasons that Ted William talked about in his book " The Science of Hitting".
RTTS Matt needs this

Nice. Now he'll definitely get called up
Great insight coach. Would love to see some more videos like these.

Great videos btw.
Great advice! Thank you
Bro keep it up also what college do you coach at
Carla Ruble he doesn’t coach in college anymore but he coached at wake forest but now he coaches high school
Nathanael Schraeder that’s what I thought
Can’t strike out on the first pitch. If it’s not your pitch 0-0 then take it and battle until you get your pitch
Can you make a video on where to hit the ball in the field? That’d be greatly appreciated.
Where the defence isnt.....
Obviously you gotta protect with 2 strikes but what about 0-1 or 1-1 what is the approach there?
0- and 1 is not 0 for 1 what a great point.
D Sep I’m not sure you got it
