The fact that the bigger engines can't fit on neither the turntable nor sheds sucks. I think the 2013 version did a better job at having the engines fit on the turntable and in the sheds and looking like Tidmouth Sheds overall.
Don’t forget the 2010 version, the last year for the classic round-about action turntable, which had 10 track points until Mattel in 2013 put 2 more trackways on the turntable to make 12 track points and added texture to the base of the turntable to look realistic. I personally don’t like the 2013 Tidmouth Sheds just because of the 2 extra track points. I like the 2010 Tidmouth Sheds because it was the last year for the classic round-about action turntable to be within the sheds, unlike its individual counterpart thats red and gray. I also like it because its more easy to incorporate into layouts and make track for, unlike the 2013 one.
The Wooden Railway 2022 Tidmouth Sheds is really good it does remind me all engines go and I do like those details and playability features despite my only problem with the shorter turntable the playability makes up for it 9 out of 10.
While it sucks that the turntable is too small, the detail on both the outside and inside looks great, although, how the heck did the dog and cow get there (is the latter supposed to be referencing Bluebelle and/or her calf from _A Cow on the Line_ from the original series?)? Henry and Emily can't fit inside either. It looks like a combination somewhat of the first two Take Along Thomas sets I got (Tidmouth Sheds and the Sodor Engine Wash and Repair Yard) but even the Tidmouth Sheds there had a larger turntable that big engines could fit on.
Yeah, I noticed that 2.5" straight track piece on the back of the box when I first bought this set at Barnes & Noble. I've even mentioned it in my own review of the set in my most recent birthday unboxing video.
@@MaxMonty1516 the 2010 is better imo, cause the 2012 one has one too many sidings, and thats weird to figure out where the put the track. Thats why I rather the 2010 one cause it doesn’t have many sidings and I’m used to that, especially for the 1996 round-about turntable I have!
My overall opinion on this: The sheds are pretty mid tbh, the whole sheds and turntable itself is basically just a recolored rerelease of the Wood version with detail changes. - You can tell by looking at the turntable, it’s basically the Wood turntable except they added the normal wooden track points instead of the Wood ones, you can it’s the Wood one by looking at the connection with the turntable and the sheds. - The sheds itself is a recolor of the Wood Tidmouth Sheds if you look at the details closely and find a lot of similarities. (ex. Details on the window replicate the 2010 - Wood versions perfectly, doors are recolored yet the same exact ones, etc….) - The roof of the sheds is the same except theres no opening to access the front roof and the vent is widened across the sheds, almost exactly like the Wood one. Overall, it’s not really impressive in my opinion, the gimmicks does no good in the sheds in my opinion unless you like the gimmicks (no judge). The way it’s set up, definitely feels like the AEG Tidmouth Sheds as the turntable is small enough to fit the small engines (like Thomas, Percy, Nia Kana and Diesel). I would take the 2010 one over this any day, no joke! Overall, this version of Tidmouth Sheds gets a 3/10 from me.
i think mattel knew the turntable would work with: thomas, percy, toby, nia, rosie and diesel Of course the other AEG main character kana would work on it
This new Tidmouth Sheds/Round House is kind of a let down. It's better than the Wood version for sure, but it has adapted that crummy small Wood style turntable. You'd think they'd have a turntable big enough to hold the big engines, but nope. It's a turntable only for small engines. It's disappointing that Henry, Gordon, and other big tender engines can barely fit in the shed births. Visually it's a nice Tidmouth Sheds, and including tracks and Percy is great addition.
I like these sheds. But the only thing I would change is the turntable size. And I've also heard that the original wooden railway turntable also doesn't fit the 2022 tender engines.
Solid review! The shed looks fine overall, but the fact they wouldn't change an ounce of it to fit the newer engines in this range makes me more worried for the future. definitely the weakest of the four sets
In my opinion, the 2010 Tidmouth Sheds are better cause the turntable is long enough to fit tank and tender engines, and the sheds look more accurate than the new one! Just my opinion though…. Not meaning to hate
Wish I didn’t have to, but it’s not the end! Currently we believe new products will be available around the holiday season and I’ll be there to review them!
I feel like this tidmouth sheds was mostly designed for like the non-tender engines like Thomas, nia, diesel etc, that may be why the turn table is so small and the shed births can only max out a medium engine like james
I wish I could be more positive about this set but sadly I can't be Negatives: I'm not really a fan of the Percy overall (the detail is good but as a model yeah its bad.) That turntable is just pathetic they really messed up making it so a large amount of the engines can't use it especially since that means no tender Engines can fit on turntables old or new. I don't like that they made this gimmicky they shouldve saved these gimmicks for somewhere like the Steamworks where it makes sense Positives: As mentioned the details on that Percy are good even if I don't like it overall. The outside of Tidmouth Sheds looks fantastic even if it's based on AEG it fits onto Sodor perfectly I really like it
@@MaxMonty1516 thanks. Yeah they'd work so much better in the Steamworks where engines are actually repaired like sure in Thomas' Train some work was done on Henry in the shed but the works weren't around at that point
I wasn't really, I was just more confused that they did make it when they didn't have to. It's a neat piece that can help in tricky situations when building, however.
Nice job man. Hands down the best tidmouth review yet!!!
Thanks so much!! Love your support :)
Any time bro you make awsome content!!

I totally agree. It looks nice but the inconsistency is a huge problem.
Don’t forget the 2010 version, the last year for the classic round-about action turntable, which had 10 track points until Mattel in 2013 put 2 more trackways on the turntable to make 12 track points and added texture to the base of the turntable to look realistic.

I wish they included another turntable but longer so it can fit the tender engines but at least Tidmouth Sheds looks nice.
Yeah it could’ve used some reworking.
Yes Hiro can’t fit on it or Gordan
@@MaxMonty1516 did you get this from amazon?
@@AndrewtheLNERA1 I did!
Awesome video
Very deep analysis review. Really enjoyed this!
The way the shed doors closed when the Tidmouth Sheds was revealed was satisfying lol
Every language: "Tidmouth"
Polish: "D O M K O W O"
Can't wait for more destinations and characters to come.
We got four characters left, but one is a character in a destination that hasn't had availability in Wooden Railway since, 2007.
I’m excited as well, and I definitely plan on covering them all!
I like how the sliders tell some kind of story
Same! I think they’re neat.
In my opinion I think they should re-realese the tidmouth sheds set but the set is long enough for the big engines
The Wooden Railway 2022 Tidmouth Sheds is really good it does remind me all engines go and I do like those details and playability features despite my only problem with the shorter turntable the playability makes up for it 9 out of 10.
Completely agreed!
Great vid can u do a layout vid of twr but with the 2022 ones
At some point I’d like to do one but I have something a little bigger planned.. ;)

11:20 I’d love to be a fly on the wall in the design room 😂
I own the deluxe tidmoth sheds but it’s called croven Gates shed on the toy
Yeah, that was added when they rereleased it in 2013!
I can imagine this Tidmouth sheds being used for Ffarqhar sheds
What is your favorite set from this new wooden railway?
I gotta go with Tidmouth, I think it provides the best play value out of all of them and it has my favorite exclusive item.
To Be Honest This is probably The best Tidmouth sheds From mattel
I believe the 2013 one is better but this is still very nice.
@@MaxMonty1516 I do Agree To This is probably My second favorite
2nd best

I thought you weren't getting this lol
yeah me neither lmao, but it was almost half off so…
i think theyre envisioning kids playing with the engines without their tenders or something, or theybwouldve made the sheds a bit bigger
Or they intended for the smaller engines to occupy the sheds like in AEG.

Weakest set tbh.
