It’s funny because all the people he alludes to that are strong are the best characters in the game for that class in radiant dawn. Soren was the best mage, Titania was the best cavalier and shinon was the best sniper.

@@eddy9819 it's never officially a "confirmed" thing (this was the gamecube and wii era of course it wasn't) but several fans speculate he's gay based on how he seems very disinterested in women and how the only two paired endings he gets are with Soren and Ranulf if i remember correctly. The only "evidence" that denies this is the existence of Priam in Awakening who's supposedly the "descendant" of the Radiant Hero (Ike) though the only correlation between Ike and Priam are their hair color and the Ragnell (which isn't even a weapon that's passed through blood it's just a special weapon anyone could use)

@@DuskNeko It's kind of sad that many speculators seem to forget that Ike's case is similar to the mercenary archetype in the series who chooses to travel alone in pursuit of getting stronger or disappear to never return. And I say this because in Radiant Dawn, Ike's no longer the central character the game revolves around, though, he's still a major character as the game shifts towards him in the purpose of defeating Goddess Ashera in the end. Characters like Ogma, Dieck, and Kamui (from Echoes) have the same trait on not marrying and disappearing as such. Raven also falls on the same boat. Alternatively, he can A support Lucius (and him only) and they have an ending together just like Ike with Soren. With these characters and their endings being said, the fandom never speculates them as being gay (or gay potential if supports are met) so it's sad to see how Ike gets treated differently from the rest of the mercs.
I usually don't like retconning established characters to be gay like they do nowadays, seems agenda driven. But Ike really has some natural gay vibes in the Tellius series. Organic, non tropy gayness on an original character that is well written? I'm down for that.
That first one is a reference to Ike's boss convo with Homasa.

@@Anonymos185 What I respect about the character is that he never falls for the typical trope of FE9 or FE10 of "Character meets Ike, discovers that their views on Laguz were wrong after a 5 min conversation" Shinon had his reasons for hate, he never discloses them, knows Ike since forever, stays true to his own beliefs. I find it very human and very real. A flawed person that regardless of what others think, stays true to themselves. The whole theme of Tellius is "The cyclical rule of oppression can be ended if we work together, regardless of differences" and even a cynical character like Shinon eventually warms to some laguz he respects, I liked him way more than other bigoted characters that just essentially go "full Ike" like Jill or Lethe. Plus he's a monster in FE10, I had so much fun using him as a tank.

I don't think Ike ever had anything against Shinon.
And for the brief earlygame period of POR you had them, he and Gatrie were purposefully overpowered units to demonstrate how long they were in the Griel Mercenaries and how experienced they were.
