THis is exactly what SInner did two weeks ago against Carlos in the first set. But he made a mistake (he admitted it in the post game interview): in the second set he stopped pushing thinking that he could handle the game just letting Alcaraz doing the first error in the rally. Carlos started introducing variations and reduced baseline points so he won the game.

Alcaraz has more variety and skill of shots but Sinner has more consistency on bread and butter shots: On that basis Sinner will in the long-run out-perform Alcaraz. The other issue is Alcaraz is relatively easily broken so far in his matches, his serve is not giving him easy points to focus on pressure on the opponent's serve and that's a big problem too.
Alcaraz as said is the most skillful player right now playing: Has the most best shots variety and versatility or adaptation in the moment even more than Djoker who over the years has become almost completely replete but in the long-run you'd go with those base shots and sheer consistency...
