  • “For more than 25 years, Brian Phelps and Mark Thompson dominated morning radio in Los Angeles. With his wit, creative drive, talent, and undeniable ability to command thousands through humor and spontaneity, Brian has carved out a career that many ever dare even attempt to achieve.”
Brian and Frank are reunited after more than 11 years since they teamed up on the M&B Show. The incredible, nearly two hour interview, will have you reminiscing, of course laughing, and at times, even fighting back some tears. You have to watch the interview to believe it, as they both roll up their sleeves and dig deep in conversation that is both uplifting and quite rare. What a reunion. Enjoy!

I will be honest here. I see two amazing men in this interview. Totally real and non-judgemental and I'm so happy to see it... though I knew it was that way for both in my heart. There is ZERO ego here. LOVE, LOVE LOVE this and want more.

He’s still the kindest, funniest man. I liken him to one of my favorite memories and people. I was still working as a switchboarder and sometimes they would need volunteers for the extra curricular stuff, i.e. chick night, birthday shows, etc. I ALWAYS volunteered! My favorite memory was one of a birthday show for Bri. I was allowed to shepherd the various celebrities to the “green” room. This year it was an RV. I went to check that all was well in said RV before, I thought, celebrities were to arrive. Well I walk in and who’s sitting in a club chair relaxing but Dick Van Dyke. Only my most favorite celebrity from my past. Well my face must have shown it because he stood right up and walked over and gave me the greatest real hug ever. I mention all this because after watching this podcast with Bri, I now realize why I cared so much about him. He’s just like Dick Van Dyke in the way that he’s the kindest, gentlest human I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. To his core. Now I know ppl are going to be sad that the “reason” wasn’t discussed on Frank’s, another kind human, podcast. Clearly, Brian’s the same sweet man he always has been and wouldn’t want to discuss one of the toughest times in his career. Wouldn’t want to shed light on something hurtful and why it was hurtful. So I leave this podcast with my heart full of memories from the greatest time and job in my life. Thank you Brian for not changing. I’ll always remember how you’d playfully flirt with me knowing I was newly married. You made me feel so special. And I know you’re still doing it with everyone lucky enough to be in your life. ♥️

Frank’s description of those four hours in the morning is what it was for all of us. For me, it brings back memories of driving to work (traffic wasn’t nearly as stressful while listening to M&B), then driving my kids to school and all the things my sons (as adults now) still remember hearing. We bought a disc player just to be able to listen to the CD’s at Christmas. We will always have those memories. Much love for all of you.

I was fortunate enough to hear M&B's first broadcast and their goodbye show and the majority in-between. Brian is an incredible talent and gave me and millions of others years of joy. I always felt Mark betrayed him at the end but Brian did his best to end it with class. Thank you Brian....

It is awesome to see you. I used to pray for you when you were searching for your meaning in life, and I'm so happy that you found Christ. I saw the interview with you and Greg Laurie, very touching. My sister works for Greg.
This is an AWESOME interview with Brian. Brian, thank you for opening up to all of us here on RUclips. I can speak for all of us when I say "WE'VE MISSED YOU"!!
    Blessings to both of you🙏

WOW! Brian hasn't aged! Hell! I'm 50and he looks way younger than me!! Frank and Brian both sound great! Brings me back to my teens and into my 30s. My eyes are getting sweaty with respect. (NOT CRYING !) Mark & Brian were such a huge part of those years it's like.....I thought they would never go away! youths follie I guess ! The service they did for SoCal commuters is reason enough to make them legends. Comedy is subjective, But the warmth and family love spoke to me over the Shock Jocks! Very SoCal.

I'm so grateful to have reconnected with the listener family and now to the radio family. What a trip down memory lane! Thank you both for throwing me in the way back machine. This was like reconnecting with old friends and picking up where we left off. Thanks for taking me away for almost a couple hours. Brian, I was always partial to you...never change! And come back to the show! You and Frank are great together! We can all see/feel the love and respect you have for each other. Thanks again and HOOTY frigging HOO!!!

M&B were such a big part of my life for many years (I'm listener #7). If I was awake and not at work, I listened. I was actually late for work more times than I would like to admit because I was listening. I just happened to have this pop up after searching M&B this morning...feeling nostalgic. Wow. Two of my favorites, Frank and Brian. Honestly, I didn't have to watch it...I just put my airpods in and listened and it took me back. I cannot tell you how much I miss you guys being a part of my weekday mornings. The whole KLOS family. Frank, I didn't realize you had a podcast, but I'm now subbed. Oh, and I cannot believe Tanto is 6'2" and 16. I remember when he was born. Finally, I'm not too proud to say when Brian did his sign off, that hit right in the feels. Thank you.

Like Brian said, it was stupid and silly but I loved it. OMG - I was just thinking about Mark and Brian and how much I miss then (Listener #15) and googled Brian and found this. I'm crying - ruined my makeup and am leaving for a meeting. Will come back and listen to this. I love Mark and Brian so much and miss them tremendously. They got me through so much in the 25 years I listened to them. Thank you, Frank. I'm so glad I found you. You, Chuck and Rita completed The Boys. xoxo Okay - Just finished. I felt the pain of the separation of M&B. I was pretty clueless to it all at the time which shows what professionals all of you are. Frank - You are so lovely. The genuine love you have for each other is palpable. I attempted suicide at 23 - I will be 60 in a couple weeks. The show helped me heal tremendusly. I lost a couple pets, divorced - had 2 children - all with M&B being a part of my life. We were family in my eyes and I know so many felt that way. Thank you for not leaving us completely. I look forward to the #BeGoodHumansPodcast,

The point I can relate the most is when Brian: you talked about retiring from KLOS, I retired in 2020 and although it’s great, the thing I miss most is the people I worked with every day, most days I interacted with hundreds of different people, I miss this more than anything, it sounded like this was very important to you too. M&B where very influential on my radio career. First it was Lyle and Hann in San Antonio, Mark and Brian for many years there after and everyone at KLOS at that time...Frank, Rita, Joe, Jim. And also Matt McCallister at KTYD in Santa Barbara...I think of you all often and I reference many moments in discussion within my Radio company. Thank you all...and...Frankie...I forgot...Mark got me into a heap load of trouble back home when he was on that other station for a bit. Call me. Gotta share that. Oh, and little know fact...Frankie taught a college class in radio broadcasting some years back
...thanks for being a mentor and having a significant and lasting impact on a young man who had no idea what the heck he was doing.

Thank you Frank and Brian for reminiscing some very good mornings. 1987 we had the Whittier Narrows quake it takes a second or two to realize it.
'Bench' etiquette, sitting on Newport Beach CA. on one of those 80° January days, no one was around, a group of people walked down to the water and sat right next to me( didn't ask for a shower) they were from Idaho, their home temperature was 10°.
I explained that it wasn't always this nice. They had been to Disneyland and it was So. Cal cold 50° and an attraction attended had a big coat and was very cold. A nice visit with them.
Preva Danny Tito some guy called sales scum? Chuck troy Donaho Sky Lord. What a great time that was.
