Thank you for taking time to explain things in-depth. I'm hoping to do some sort of photo book for my graduating niece. Going digital for an album is nerve-wracking, as I've done some basic prints (photo calendars) off of the computer in the past (via Walgreens) and had issues with color accuracy. What looked good on my screen looked quite different in print.

I do not recommend Walmart, i had one done and took it back and ended getting done by Shutterfly and CVS which they had a drastic difference in better image quality than Walmart book.
I just ordered a book from Google photos. It was quick, easy, and relatively cheap. I'll be interested to see how it turns out, but based on your review I'll be trying Shutterfly next time.

What a terrific video - it's opened my eyes for my retirement venture. I make and sell decorative trays and what I call 3D abstract dioramas. It take photos of each build and give them to the client - my intent is to show them the build and creative process along the way. But, after watching this video, I need to add some professionalism to the pics. Can you tell me how much I would expect to pay for an 8x8 book with about 20 to 40 photos? I realize that's a loaded question because of all the options available but can you ballpark a figure for me? Thanks

A very detailed review and also very helpful. I wonder though, why you did not add Picaboo to your list. I have been using them for many years and have found them to be my go to for price quality etc. I have used Shutterfly on a number of occasions, but I still come back to Picaboo. I believe its Shutterfly’s pricing and my experience of having one of my books fall apart.

I'm going to come off a bit ignorant here. A couple of years ago I printed a book on Shutterfly. Essentially a portfolio. I want to print from them again because that first book came out great! Thankfully my last book is still on Shutterfly's site and apparently last time I paid full price and it was about $150!?!? I sure as hell don't remember paying so much!
At @1:13, he mentions how much his book would have been full price on Shutterfly but after discounts, got the price down so much!!
How can I go about finding these types of deals!? I'd love to use Shutterfly again but my next book will be more pages than my previous and I sure as hell don't want to spend so much
SHUTTERFLY Question: Can you set an option for other people to make their own photo book with your pioctures?
I have used Shutterfly and CVS and had problems with the skin color coming back with a very orange tint. Is there a way to prevent that? My originals were beautiful. CVS is same day printing by the way.

making first photobook for our 50th anniversary. Your review was perfect for sorting through all these options.
Photos will come either from pics google photos, or pics exported from Mac Photos..we are a blended family :) Would the software tell me if resolution would not create a good picture???
I’d say if you zoom in to a patch such as what would be 1/5th of the length etc and it looks clear you should be good. Unless your going bigger zoom in more but if your phone is 2” across and the picture will be 8” you can just blow up 4x the size.
Sorry I don’t know the actual answer to your question but it can give you an idea.

I'm out after the BLURRRRR came in. I'd recommend to NEVER use BLur in an informational video. Reserve that for art films, the flower blurring into the pretty girl. Blur is annoying. even the so called bokeh really shouldn't be used, its a visual medium people want to see detail not strain to see what they're looking at.
