In the early 60's every kid with a transistor radio listened to Dave Mickie on 590 CKEY or Jungle Jay on 1050 CHUM Remember those days well!

I lived very close to the little yellow house and one afternoon me and a buddy threw gravel up at the second story window and screamed out a request for "Complicated Game" by XTC which Dave played for the "crazy guys" in the parking lot. CFNY formed my entire taste for music. Thanks Dave if you ever read this.

I remember listening to David Marsden in the late 70,s on CFNY. One evening during his live show he cranked up the reverb and said that one of the DJ,s put acid in his coffee.Oh how I miss those days of listening to David Marsden on the radio.

I found that awfully arrogant leaving out the 3 years Dave Marsden had with Coast 800/1040 in Vancouver. The station wasn't even mentioned. Like it didn't matter. It mattered a hell of a lot to me. Nobody in Vancouver commercial radio was playing the more daring music from the local/national and international music scenes before or after Coast. Just skipping over it is a crime.

I had 12 minutes to write and direct this episode. I did almost 45 minutes of interview with David. Some things had to be left out. Sorry you felt it was arrogant.

@@dougthompson6424 Maybe arrogant was the wrong word ,but, his 3 years with Coast meant a lot to people. There's been nothing close to it since in Vancouver. I do my best with Radio Bandcouver on Co-op Radio, coopradio.org in Vancouver every Wednesday ,24 years and going strong, 3:30-5pm PST. Cheers.
