Great shout for Mouse C.C.C. It's unlike any other game. Players should remember to play cards on top of other cards, moving the mouse or cat. They can't win early without moving. Games can last 20 minutes, or be over in 2 minutes, so you shuffle the characters and play again. *hidden gem*
I played PC games for years, online and offline. But this week im hooked in playing board games. For me board games makes me happy than online games, because you can interact with people. Im only playing with my younger brother cause its my 1st week playing Board Games. Our first game are Exploding kittens and Splendor. Hope to play more board games 😁
I've been switching to Board Games because you get to enjoy that with people face to face, you don't need a PC that needs to be kept updated with more better hardware (aka spending lots of money), you don't need to keep buying more storage to accommodate massive updates, and online games at some point in time diminish in value because if there is no player base, there is little reason to come back to the game. And you can't sell the game after you've bought it.
@@aos-archive yeah I had a thought to buy a PC for gaming, thought it would be more cost effective than buying a PS5 someday. But man that’s some money to keep up w upgrades. No PC and no PS5 for this dude this year.
@@privatevendetta Of course. Selling off is always an option when you are fulfilled with the game you own. Some may even rise in value unlike electronics.
Tableau Building games, each player has a visible personal array or tableau of components (cards, tiles, player boards, etc.) which they purposefully build or manipulate throughout the game by spending actions and/or resources (including opportunity costs) and which determines the quality, quantity, and/or variety of actions to which they have access throughout the game. Thanks for the interesting review and list. I've not heard of many of these games, despite my growing board game collection. While my preference is to play board games with others, there are those times when others are not available or not convenient. So, I'm attempting to make a goal to watch less TV and play a board game, solo. I do have Falling Skies, a game designed for solo play or cooperatively. Ironically, the times I've pulled it out to play a solo game, my board game loving neighbor has been available, so I put Falling Skies aside until another day. I think Wing Span or National Parks will be an upcoming purchase. Recently got Traveling Through History because of the excellent reviews. It does have a solo mode which I've not yet tried.
Awesome! Thanks James. There’s a certain contentment that comes from playing solo sometimes. I hope you get to try it out. My favorite solo plays are usually if multiplayer games w solo modes. Curious how trekking through time is.
Great list but I am not quite ready yet to accept the premise... I need them ALL to be happy. Mouse Cheese Cat Cucumber is new to me, will definitely check it out!
That rulebook…doesn’t help anyone. I’ll see about whether I can do something like a tutorial. Can’t promise! But it seems to be in high need so I’ll add that to my ideas. Thank you 😎
Just depends on how much you like the game: they are the same game with different factions, abilities and play styles. I haven’t played classics to know personally how different the factions are. One game is enough. Both if you’re a super fan.

Nice. I’m glad you know it. And thanks for the strategy. Man that game is a puzzle.
Awesome selection - I love lists like these at can be played solo or with others!
Thanks Alli! I try to stay in the range of multi and solo in one game

Awesome! I’m glad you’re enjoying board games and I hope you stick around with me. I play Exploding Kittens with my son and it’s a blast.

Love the video, Mike! So happy to see this one blowing up! 🎉 Tons of great games in this list!
Thanks man. You never know what will blow up, but I’m glad the newer lists are doing well. This was a fun idea to do.
@@BoardgamesforOne Absolutely! I think a "buyers' guide" like this, especially with the solo perspective in mind, was a great idea! ☺

Thank you. It helps for a day. Don’t worry I’ll forget by tomorrow.
Great list
You don't need a lot of games to be happy.
But having too many can make you bummed.
Trust me.
Agreed

Oh I have failed! MCCC is worth checking out.
Well presented - subbed
Why thank you James. Glad to have you here.

There's only one thing to be said about your mustache:
GODLIKE
Excellent video as always 😉
Thank you for the list!
Ha thanks man! Dad stache ftw
Great list!
Thanks Shannon! Anything you’d add?
I’m a grandparent with 3 grandkids ages 11,12,13 we love wingspan, what should be next on our list?
@@shannonmccure6972 I would go with Small Islands, (review w my son, Daniel and I coming soon) Explorers, or Butterfly Garden.
@@BoardgamesforOne thank you!
Also, Canva! They might love making their own “paintings”.
I like the fact that you are focusing on solo games.
Thank you! That’s my jam. But I also do play w others occasionally so I try to feature games that are strong as family games and as solo games.
Can you do a solo playthrough of imperium legends? I have it but could not figure it out from the rule book lol

Do you know if the imperium classics/legends games different enough to own both, or are they basically the same?

Why is this missing The Crew?
It would be a good addition. I personally haven’t played it enough to review it.
I’m confused you talk about Star Wars but show the pandemic game? Maybe you should punt pandemic it’s a good game
You’re right. Thank you. I’ll see if I can edit in with the Star Wars images.
Haha I thought this was maybe a critique that the clone wars game is a copy of pandemic😅😂
@@pinkunicorns3185 I wish 😅. Nope just a good ol flubbub
To end up with the right ones takes a decade.
Yeah it could. Choosing carefully.
