This video perfectly explains this new version of myself I’m trying so hard to upkeep. Just this year, literally at the start of spring I finally started to build a relationship with my hair and it has been a life changer for my self expression. And just yesterday I finally looked through my wardrobe because I kept falling into the belief that “I didn’t have any clothes” and it was such a fun time last night playing dress up. Literally just gassing myself up and talking to myself in the mirror. I have so many things I would love to change about my life, but these little moments that are private to me and me give me so much comfort.
Your vulnerability is always so appreciated and honored by me. I've been in a era of trying to reconnect to fashion, but mainly when I go to parties. You've got me thinking about way I can reconnect to it in general, like having fun with it again. Much love ❤❤❤
thank you so much. i used be nervous about opening up bc in the past people would tell me they didn't care, but now i don't care it's my channel and i talk about my feelings!
You are loved and appreciated Harri! Thank you for your vulnerability and for pushing through even though you’re going through a lot of grief! Sending all my love and condolences your way!
"They dont look sad" and referring to their makeup, hair, clothes, etc is so dumb!!! Like u said, hair salons r a place to socialize plus getting out of the house is such a huge help to overcoming mental health issues Putting work into urself is so important Pple really just say anything they want without any education. Omfg
Not the video essay arc! I definitely agree though fashion and beauty (to a certain extent) take alot more explicit effort than people really talk about especially when it comes to how that effects us outside of pretty privilege convos
This video reminded me sm of Sapologie or La Sape. For context, even tho I was born in Atlanta Georgia. My parents are from Congo Brazzaville. A big part of Congolese culture is Sapologie. It's not just dressing up, it's about art n expressing yourself. it's basically customizing your character with a harmonious wardrobe that expresses who you are. I've seen my dad go threw sm threw out my childhood, but something that has slways been his fashion. As a sapeur, on the outside he looks like he's been living a good life, but my siblings and I could always see the pain he concealed. Watching him made me realize how things that might seem insignificant and vain tl others can be really self soothing.
I hope things get better for you Soon! I appreciate your reviews on animation especially as a non white woman, I greatly Value and Appreciate your Point of View 🫶🏽 Hope things Get Better For You Soon!
Sometimes the line between beauty as a tool and beauty as self care is almost invisible. We do what we can with what we've got
THE "they look good" AND THEN CUT TO THE INTRO WAS SO COOL HARRI
