Looks absolutely delicious! I made it for my daughter who loved it but unfortunately I have a shellfish allergy so was unable to eat it 😔. Could I substitute the shrimp for fish instead?

    • @KerriAnnsKravings

Sammie, so glad your princess loved it and you can def substitute the shrimp for fish. Our traditional fish soup is called "fish tea" soup. It's usually done in slightly different way and usually a thiner consistency. Let me know how it turns out . xx

@@KerriAnnsKravings hiya and thank you for your reply. I will definitely try making it with fish, any type of fish in particular you recommend?

@@sammie1122 Hey Sammie, Jamaicans typically use fishes like red snapper, parrotfish, or porgies in their fish soup, as these fish are firm and hold up well in soups. Using whole fish with bones can be challenging, but using fillets is a great alternative. Fillets are easy to handle and remove any bones that may be present.
It is also important to remember to add the fish last to the soup, as fish cooks quickly and can become tough and overcooked if left in the soup for too long. Adding the fish towards the end of the cooking process ensures that it remains tender and flavorful.
I hope this helps and happy cooking!

What brand powder seasoning you use?

Hey Crystal, the all purpose seasoning is from Morton’s but use whatever you typically use or homemade. Let me know if you have anymore questions. 💓
