I found your video a while back. Finally trying the flames on a clear sheet of plastic and I goofed up. Rewatched and now I'm excited to retry. Thank you!
Do love watching your work take form. The thing I find tricky about doing bodyshells - when airbrushing - is the fact that everything is in reverse front first the layers after. I’ve just finished a proline with front end in on fire. It was a challenge - but well worth it.
Absolutely awesome. Love your style. You really should put a direct link to where you sell the templates (and the Facebook page I suppose) in the video description. Keep it up 👍
Any chance you can do this with spray paint? If so would the ultimate flame or pro series set be the better stencil option? And which would be the easier skull set to do flaming skulls with? I like the styling of the demon skulls both 1 and 2. Shooting for a pirate themed paint job and everything else I want to do, I’ve figured out with spray paint. Trying to see what I can do with real flames and skulls next before I move onto the flag.
I never use cans, but i know several people who have. both flame stencils are designed to give you different out comes. the flames they can produce due to the shape of the stencils makes all the difference. Same for the skulls it will come down to what you like.
@@skinjobs1237 i’d like to push myself as much as I can with cans before I consider moving to air brush. Plus don’t have a dedicated shop to set up an air brush yet so cans make it a little easier to paint. Just more work up front masking, drawing, cutting out shapes but I’m starting to mix in a lot of techniques I’m seeing people only use with air brush. Sometimes successfully, sometimes not. Either flame set easier to start with? Seems like the ultimate set would be. And between the deadman skulls and the two demon skulls either of those easier for someone starting out with this? Which would you use if you were doing a flaming skull, real flame pirate themed paint job?
Great Video. I purchased your stencils last week and they should be here any day. Are all the createx paints you used to this pearlized including the black? I'm wanting to do my ghost flames in orange for about half the body and then fade to black. For something like that would you just feather fade out the orange and then do the white with the templates or is there another method to ending the flames before the solid black starts?
MCD thanks for reaching out to me. The paints in the video where not pearls. Sorry about that i just mixed my white in a large pearl bottle. The black & white are opaques and the blue was candy. So what your trying to do: Use candy orange first on your body where you want your flames to be. 2nd use the white to lay your flames. 3rd. your going to need to seal your white so the orange flames stay bright i use a transparent base and spray over my white flames before i use the black. If you choose not to the black will muddy your flames and your orange flames will be more brown due to the black mixing with all your other colors. The sealer or transparent base will stop the black from bleeding into your work. Hope this helps.
Second video of yours I've watched. You're an excellent instructor, IT LOOKS SO EASY! Although, I know it takes practice to perfect the technique! Keep the videos posting, cuz you're really good at it. I'm wondering though, how hard is it now to take these types of techniques and apply them to a 1/10th scale body ...... tight spaces.
SKIN JOBS yea I got two directionals n one filler. I used them last night n also the bio skull on my first body. It was my first body n only the third time ever using a airbrush
In the video from start until 3:15( when I notice this comment) you can clearly see it says “Pearlized” on the white! Not trying to funny, but do not see it?
I just finished my first body n it didn't come out like I thought, idk if I used wrong paint cuz color ended up jacked. I used createx with createx wicked. I used a lime green like a neon I thought that was wicked, then after I based the body with it I used white for flames it was opeaqe then backed it in black opeaqe. When I did a practice pic day before I didn't have the lime green yet so I used my green transparent n same white n black n turned out ok.. can u lmk what the opeaqe paint does n the transparent does n how to use together
Sorry Steve I just watched the video above and looked at the stencils in the video. That was the old set, the new set only has three stencils in it. You got a new set.

it starts off being hard if you have never airbrushed before. Time will make you better i promise you that. Thanks again for the kind word.
What can you use to practice on if you don't have a bunch of old bodies laying around can it be done on practice canvas please let me know

Hey my set of flames I bought from u has two directional stencils n only one filler is there suppose to be two fillers?
Did you get set 1 Steve?
SKIN JOBS yea I got two directionals n one filler. I used them last night n also the bio skull on my first body. It was my first body n only the third time ever using a airbrush
What color white do you use for the flames?Opaque white, transparent white or pearlized white?Thank you in advance.
Yea a few people have asked this, but I couldn't find the reply anywhere
He said the white and black are opaque. The blue is candy. He said it on a reply to someone else asking about doing orange flames
He also said something about using a transparent base to seal the candy before you go over it with the black to back it or it'll get muddy
In the video from start until 3:15( when I notice this comment) you can clearly see it says “Pearlized” on the white! Not trying to funny, but do not see it?
give me the link for your stencils please I like them
www.ebay.com/usr/skinjobs
What brand of bulk black is that
Do you still sell these templates?
Can this be done use spray paint instead of airbrush?
I don’t think it will look as good as airbrushing, but if you mask it off pretty good you can achieve the same look.
