Lucky ME! Catching your cool, calm and highly informative painting sessions getting right to the point without rushing. Getting back into the sport and have a JC Finnisher body that's been looming over my head for years! Inspiring! In going to have to backtrack and binge watch to catch up! Very nice work! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Oh well!! This body on the other hand looks amazing and now the attention to detail and knowledge really shines. I'm not sure about the toxicity of Acryl paints when breathed in, but at 18:52 you can really see how all the bursts of airbrush rebounce in that body and fly towards your face.
This is the best video that I’ve seen on RUclips to guide through how to properly paint an RC car! ...and it looks really beautiful! Love those flames!🔥 👌🏻😎Thank you so much!! I have all of my supplies ready to go to attempt my first one! ❤️😁
For those looking for liquid masks, AMAIN HOBBIES carries Bitty designs, and Spazstix liquid masks. Bob Smiths' industries liquid mask is hard to find as I think it was discontinued. Mike D, no wonder Traxxas comes to you. Nothing short of breathtaking paint jobs. I wish I could do a 10th of what you can do. Insane, bro.
I really enjoy painting the bodies for rc cars. Mostly because I can try out different ideas that I want to try on a real car. If I'm happy with it on the rc car I will go ahead and do it on the real thing. There are also the hard polycarbonate bodies that you need to paint on the outside and those are great for trying out body mods too.
I would definitely love to see more painting videos. You do some nice work. I got 3 bodies at home waiting for paint and this video helps me out. Thank you
after years of brushing it on, I used a paint spray gun from Harbor frieght and sprayed in on the bodies, and it turned out much better. I didnt have any thin areas causing me problems, I only had to do 1 good coat, and sprayed a couple areas that looked a little thin. But that works great right out of the bottle..
My problem with spraying it on is the overspray that gets everywhere. It does go on more evenly but I have never had issues with thin spots anyway. Plus I can just sit on the couch inside and mask multiple bodies at a time. Lol
Dude that's nice I've really been thinking about getting back into the RC scene I use to race them back in the day. Watching this I could get into painting bodies as a hobby and get back into racing them. Great video
Once I saw the slash bodies you did for Marks boys I had to find your channel. Very nice tutorial, makes me think maybe I could paint a body! Thanks! Jim
Looks amazing. I wonder whether the same process would work in 1/24 / 1/28 slotcar or RC bodies. The bodies are super thin so I‘d be concerned to cut through them or weaken them too much. Also in those small bodies I imagine it would be very difficult to work with the knife and also to cut stuff like the chrome trim masking so that it looks good. Your trim looked phenomenal! I have no idea how you managed to cut the masking so that it looks so equally wide throughout all the chrome trim?!
Good evening Sir. I learned something new today. Thank you. I've never washed the lexan bodies and I've 3 so far. Liquid mask is the way to go. Where can I buy it?
Because it's hard to find purple iodized Traxxas parts, I think a spiderman theme body suits the e revo well. Metallic red, white, black and blue. Oh and awesome video, really cool
Dude where are you located in texas. I just moved here from Pennsylvania and sold all my rc cars .but started up again. And I'm looking for a painter that old school paint job was amazing. Can you paint some body's for me? I'm in texas as well.thanks and keep that amazing work going.
You make it look easy! Thank you for sharing the liquid mask trick I can’t wait to try it! I found your other video on the patina paint job you did on the truck, I was wounding how you got your lines so crisp. Anyway you got yourself a new subscriber.
Just curious, with those faskolor paints...are you adding any sort of reducer to them at all? I keep having clogging and splatter issues. But I also have a cheap airbrush gun so that could be why. Would appreciate any info!
Neat video, thanks for sharing. I know there are a variety of liquid masking materials available. Do you have a favorite brand for using on your RC bodies? I like the Bob Dively for use on slot car bodies.
@@TexasOatmeal do you have any info on what you use to make your mask? New subscriber, so haven't looked through all your vids yet. But thanks for this awesome tutorial. Love the chrome!
Man this is exactly what I needed. Definitely a super informative vid. Appreciate it so much. How much time did you allow between each coat that you applied of the liquid mask?
As soon as it looks dry, you're good to go for the next coat. I put it in front of a fan and the first coat usually takes 20-30 minutes before I do the next. I let the final coat dry overnight
@@TexasOatmeal Dude I actually just finished watching the vid. Man that body looks nothing short of spectacular. Wow. 😳 Do you normally wait till the last step to cut out your wheel wells? Also, is the liquid mask that you haven’t peeled out yet still easy to see after you have painted over it? - Thanks man!!
Awesome video man, so when you'd finished the black and was ready to do the red pinstripe on the flames had you already cut the liquid mask or did you cut the pinstripe in after you added the black coat lol So in other words do you make all the cuts before painting or do them as you go 🤔
You could except for the orange fade around the edge of the yellow. It's also just very expensive to use all spray cans as it's spraying a large area and wasting most of the paint.
Unless you are just trying to remove a very small amount, its probably not worth trying to remove it. Once it's painted it's just too much work to fix...better off starting over with a new body

That was an excellent tutorial! Appreciate it
I’m so glad I ran across this video before I ruined my new car body... I had no idea the paint job was done on the inside
Same here, glad i watched a master at work before attempting my first paint job

So great to see you back. We all kind of missed ya. Still love your warped sense of humor and your great tech vids. If you need anything let me know.
I was digging it with just the pinstripe flames! Looks awesome, thanks for showing everyone how it's done.
Super awesome!! Please make more videos so we all can learn from the master of RC painting!
More of this. Dang!! That was an incredible result. Would love to see how the others came out. I’ll check your library
EXACTLY the look i want on my truck. Great result.

Thanks, and yes...if I can't get my regular liquid mask I use Spaztix. It's pretty close to what I buy in bulk.

Just want to chime in and say this is one of my favorite vids of yours.
Thanks
Best paint job I have ever seen
Badass paint job.. you inspired me to take my paint job to the next level..
Wow that GTO looks awesome. Nice job and good tutorial and tips. I learned why my truck body did not turn out that good. More! More! Please!
Thank you for this video its so helpful I'm going to use this method on my next body
Great job love how the chrome came out. I wish I could find that body GTO I awesome..
thanks
Freaking awesome video mate. Made it so clear and answered all the questions I had before I F'd up every body I had. Thanks so much

Wow that Pontiac GTO looks awesome, great paint job!!😊
I've watched this video a few times now and I just noticed the KC's paint shop hat! 😁👍
Awesome 👍. Would like to know what are the brand of these body shells. Can't find a 1/7 rally!
Thank you, you've just made my life a lot easier. Great video!
I like to the paint job. I would enjoy more videos of painting. I very new to the RC world
Sweet im trying my first one now....doing general lee for my nitro rs4-2
Thanks for making this! I was hoping to see how you painted up that Mustang body you had on the shelf.
Fantastic vid! Wow, looks great!
Where can I get that body! Great tutorial man!
Hell of a job brother 👍🏾 I’m just getting into the hobby. I’m glad I ran across your channel.
Great painting videos
Any tips on trimming the pin stripe lines, especially the curved areas of the flames?
Anyway you can add a list of products list and where to buy like the paints and bodys
Had no problem if you did all the bodies, you make it not boring.
Wow ! Very good paint job !
Awesome! I took notes. 🙌
Subbed for this.
Wow I only thought the old school way was how everyone did this! Thanks man
you are the man i see now the steps you did to get this real look great job
Good video. Learned a lot. Hum liquid mask is the way to go!
Awesome Video! Thanks for taking the time!
Thanks for sharing, fantastic work😎🤘🏼
Looks freakin sick man.
Awesome video keep up the good work, in order to use that mini air spray you are using, does it need some sort of air compressor ?
Yes, I run a small air compressor.
Amazing !!!! Thank you for posting ...... Cheers from Germany
Keep the painting tutorials coming! Looks great
Can't wait to see my brute body!!! Super stoked!!
Thank you sir. I really enjoyed learning from this. I need an airbrush kit. Lol.
And liquid mask. That stuff almost seems like having a cheat code.

Sick! Great tutorial!!!!!!
Can you post a link for the liquid mask you use friend ? Thank you so much! 🙏
I buy in bulk and essentially make my own...youre best bet is to get spazstix brand. Amain carries it

your paint work is amazing wow!!!!
Awesome job man!
U do some bad ass work love it great job
Wow what an amazing job i wish i could get you to do a xmaxx body 4 me
Braddah that is awsum thank you for sharing 🤙
Amazing work so clean looks easy lol but what kind of air brush do u use
Iwata HP-CS
Dude you got insane skill lol nice job
very informative video but cant find the liquid paint masking that you use in the video is there another one that works as well as that brand?
Bitty designs has one I think.
Thank you for doing this video, I learned a ton.
Do you have a video out on how to cut them out after paint?
ruclips.net/video/sQ3nlmSZf5Q/видео.html
Neat video, thanks for sharing. I know there are a variety of liquid masking materials available. Do you have a favorite brand for using on your RC bodies? I like the Bob Dively for use on slot car bodies.
You should open a RC paint shop 💰💰💰
Where the heck are you getting those Parma GTO Bodies?
Great Video... very helpful thank you.... What brand liquid mask do you use
I make my own but if I was buying off the shelf, bittydesigns and Parma brands both work well

I didn’t know I need one of those air gun paint spray things are they expensive I want to make one but I don’t have much money
For a good brand of air brush kits. It can cost a little bit of money. Some come with a gun and some don't.
Great video.
great video
Nice work on the paint job! How many days did it take you from start to finish and the days in between?
I liquid mask the body the night before so it will fully cure. Painting it took maybe 4 hours total.
Awesome video man, so when you'd finished the black and was ready to do the red pinstripe on the flames had you already cut the liquid mask or did you cut the pinstripe in after you added the black coat lol
So in other words do you make all the cuts before painting or do them as you go 🤔
All cuts before any paint
Can u use just the spray cans to do that instead off the air brush tool
You could except for the orange fade around the edge of the yellow. It's also just very expensive to use all spray cans as it's spraying a large area and wasting most of the paint.
What is the liquid mask again? Is it sold at hobby lobby?
Nope, amainhobbies.com is a good source for it.
Do you do custom body paint jobs?? Would be a arrma infraction v2??
Send a message to facebook.com/celphdesigns
BEST VIDEO I am 14 and want to make one thank you.
Is there any benefit / reason to not cutting and shaping the body prior to painting??
Easier to paint...mostly so when spraying you don't have as much overspray going past the edges of the body.
@@TexasOatmeal that makes sense. What about scratching the paint while cutting it out though?
nice hat. lol, live just a few miles from KC's shop
Have you used spaz stix with airbrush? How do you remove the paint ?
Unless you are just trying to remove a very small amount, its probably not worth trying to remove it. Once it's painted it's just too much work to fix...better off starting over with a new body
Yes just small amount that bled through tape
