I am repotting, rearranging, and making plans for colder weather for my many “porch plants”. I saw some yellow fellows in a tropical plant I’ve managed to keep going for 3 years in the Midwest. Before I made funeral plans, I saw your video. Informative AND your positive attitude is contagious! I’m actually excited to be outside and surrounded by plants. Thank you!
Thanks Anna. Is the yellow scale from the dapperling toxic? The dapperling has come up in my greenhouse/hothouse lettuce. Do you know if just a usual wash of the lettuce leaves will be enough to remove possible toxicity ?
Found my first purple spore a few weeks ago. It was about 6" across at it's widest point. Went back to the spot yesterday and there are 3 more coming up. I breaded and fried in slices, kind of underwhelming, but still cool to find edibles.
Do you like the giant puffballs? I had some years back. I made it a couple of different ways, grilled it, and made a puffball parmesan. I wasn't crazy about it. It was kind of like tofu ish. I've been wanting to try it again, but I haven't found any. Love your channel, you're a delight.
Interesting, thank you, I just had one of these pop up in the berm right outside my front door. So weird it was all by itself, yesterday when I saw it, it hadn’t opened up, checked this morning and it was opened out. I was nervous about it because my dog kept wanting to check it out, I pulled him away from it. Now that I know it’s poisonous I’ll yank it up and trash it.
Hello, I'm very interested in mushrooms. I've recently subscribed to you and you explaine very well the details. I would love to send you some pictures to check out. I'm located around the Cumberland gap. So our climate is similar.
My first encounter with this species and yes, in an outdoor flower pot! Really enjoy it.

Also very surprised to see these growing outside
I love these. Can I buy spores??
I would take a graduate course on mycology if you taught it!
