Now, to be fair, Austin Dillon was competitive all race long, staying in the top 5 all race long. If Stenhouse doesn’t crash with 2 to go as the Ace has a strong lead, we do not have any of the overtime chaos.
This was honestly a pretty good short track race. And I think part of it is because of the option tires. Really made it compelling. Compared to the spring race at Richmond, this was so much better. The finish kind of tarnished it, but it was still pretty good.
Off to Michigan, where I suspect Larson will do pretty good. He got his first career win their back in 2016, then swept both races in 2017. Because he was so good at that track in Chip Ganassi equipment, some would say he would be the king of Michigan International Speedway. But anything happens. We shall see.
Edit: Like the new green screen you have set up now, Jack. Looks good.
Edit 2: Oh my goodness! Austin Dillon's win will stand, but it is encumbered, meaning that he is NOT going to be in the playoffs. He also loses 25 driver and owner points due to what happened, along with losing his spotter for 3 races because he told Dillon to wreck the 11 coming off turn 4 on the final lap! Logano is also fined $50k for what he did on pit road in response to what happened (doing a burnout in anger right in front of Dillon's family on pit road)! Well, that changes everything!
@@joshuapboston1999 fingers crossed for Larson to pull out a win, I feel like I've jinxed him since becoming a supporter 😂

NASCAR (finally) did right in their decision to disallow Austin Dillon's automatic playoff qualification based upon his banzai finish maneuvers, plus an added 25 points deduction.
Logano was lucky to not lose points for his dangerous burnout while driving by Dillon's pit box after the race. He did get fined $50,000.

Don't forget the spotter was suspended for 3 races
@@jo2832 sucks for him
Ive seen ppl saying that this was the real number 3 or dale came back into the car and won the race, which is partially true with logano the 22 but not even dale from my memory has ever or would ever right hook someone. right hooking in Nascar is extremely frowned on because you're turing someone directly into a wall. There is no way under the green flag a driver doesn't hit a wall on a right hook. I suggest taking a look at the driver interviews of denny, logano, austin, and others, after this race it really puts into a perspective how the drivers view the points system.
@@jo2832 not a bad idea, thank you Jo!

Nascar let Austin Dillon keep the win, but stripped him of his playoff eligibility, docked him about 25 playoff points and owner points. His spotter i think is suspended for 3 weeks for telling Austin to wreck the 11 at the finish. Joey Logano got in trouble for doing a dangerous burnout on pit road at Austin Dillons pit stall with non-essential personel standing on pit road. And Joey had a hot headed interview on tv!

as I’m writing this, NASCAR have actually just announced that they’ve encumbered Austin Dillon’s win 😳 That basically means that he will still officially be scored as the winner of the race, but all of the benefits that come with it have been revoked, including Playoff eligibility 🤣
@@burnsyp13 😂😂 so it was relatively all for nothing!
oof, in addition to the playoff eligibility being revoked, he’s also been docked 25 points and his spotter has been suspended for 3 races for telling him to “wreck him” in relation to Denny Hamlin 😳
@@burnsyp13 😂😂😂 YEAAAAAAAH that was NOT the best move lads haha
This is the exact penalty I was expecting. Others told me I was dumb and it would never happen. Funny thing is, this actually hurts Denny and Joey, Austin was gonna be wasting a spot in the playoffs and no threat to them, now a driver that might be able to contend will be in that spot.
I’m all for hard racing, but what Dillon did crosses a line. I think NASCAR got it right by taking his playoff spot away.
@@mattias3312 he definitely wishes he now just took the second place 😂😂
Cookout 400. Cookout is a drive thru fast food chain. There not very big chain.
This was the second time this year they used the softer rubber compound red goodyear lettered tire. The last time it was used was the non points race all star race. This was the 1st points paying red letter tire race. Each team got 2 sets of red letter tires. Dainel Suarez was the 1st car on the red tires and man he just was Harry flatters thru the field from 15th to leading the race in no time. That was very impressive. F1 has been using optional compound tires for decades. This red letter option tire is a newer thing in nascar. There using this tire cause there's been a big proplem with passing on short tracks with this current generation of cup race car. and you just saw what Dale earnhart SR. would of done back in the day to win a race in the 3 car.

This is one of those things that’s extremely fun in the moment but really makes you question the legitimacy of the Playoffs. If Dillon is racing in a full-season points system, he settles for 2nd place. Instead, he intentionally wrecks two cars he knows he couldn’t beat on the final lap of the restart, putting them in harm’s way. Stuff like this is why NASCAR’s name gets dragged through the mud
Exactly right
It certainly doesn't make the sport look good that's for sure

I was lucky enough to fall asleep before the race even started. Because if I watched that finish live I'd've been so furious I propably wouldn't sleep for days.
It was a shitshow and if NASCAR doesn’t penalize the 3 for that I will jump ship to V8 Supercars, where contact is not too frowned upon and racing is great.
Seriously, if NASCAR doesn’t penalize the 3 and take this win away, it sets the precedent that crashing people on purpose in ways previously frowned upon by everybody will now be allowed and personally, I don't want to watch that crap
I cannot agree more, it seems wild he was allowed to do such a thing with no punishment
Logano might get a penalty of some sort! He throttled up on pit road (just taking his anger out) and almost hit Austin Dillon’s crew & family members! THANKFULLY he didn’t hit them but it was close! If anything they’ll just dig into his pockets! Maybe a $100K fine!
What Austin did was kinda messed up but I think what he did to Hamlin was worse than what he did to Logano! He rammed Logano (which still isn’t good) but he right hooked Denny which that’s even worse!! You can really hurt someone by right hooking or left hooking someone! If anything I think they’ll probably fine Dillon too but they won’t take his win away or anything! Hope to find out the penalty report in a few hours

This is why the rest of the Motorsports community laughs at nascar I get bump and running and rubbing fender but intentionally wrecking two people for the win is bs keep in mind Dillon is almost last in points and because of that and this stupid playoff format he now gets to compete for a championship nascar needs to ditch the playoffs like this is freakin ridiculous the championship feels utterly worthless nascar is also taking their time to announce any penalties for Dillon and logano who after the race on pit road drove up to Dillon’s crew who also had a couple officials and Dillon’s wife and child and smashed the gas no injuries but nascar fined Suarez at cota for giving bowman a bump coming onto pit road after the race
They need to set the law, if it's one rule for one, it has to be one rule for all 💪🏻

Well NASCAR gave out the punishment for the blatant pile drive that dillon gave crybaby. He and the owner, his grandad, both lose 25pts but most importantly they took the automatic playoff spot away. That means he wont be in the playoffs unless he can win without cheatin again in these last couple races. But this is why this playoff phony champion sucks. There is no way anyone can convince me that a guy who is no better than 25th or so in the points should be racing for a championship. Im glad they took that away from him only because they have sucked swamp water all year and it totally delegitimizes the the championship if a team that cant crack the top 25 can win the title. Dump the stupid playoffs and stage racin crap, this is a sport not the WWE with contrived champions.
I'm glad the governing bodies understood the job and fined him correctly, I bet he and his spotter wishes they'd have just taken second 😂
They figure its about a 2 million dollar lose from prize pool money based on where he probably would have ended up after the playoffs. But who knows, with this fake championship stuff all he has to do is win without cheatin, and good luck with that the way the 3 car has performed this year. Like you videos big guy, keep up the good work.
