I am at a loss to understand why LAVA did not send a review unit to Mr Ranjit. He is the best around. I have seen many reviews with the review units sent by LAVA. Is LAVA watching this review and our comments?
@@rajamanipv i think mainly because of the view count . You can see Ranjit sir's channel is kinda stagnant compared to other Indian tech RUclipsrs. I think it is because he is targeting Indian audiences but in English language which, maybe constricts the channel's growth.
The only youtuber who gives gennuine review is Ranjit sir...even if any company don't send review unit..still he tells the harsh truth..be like this sir always..love u..Following u since 2016..

People prefer to buy a device which bricks their device while updating rather than the mobile which doesn't give updates at all.
They can launch mobiles but regular updates are going to decide their fate in the Indian market.

I bought this phone and it's pretty great for the price. But I must say this, Lava should be ashamed of themselves. It is sad to know Lava being an Indian brand they did not give Ranjit a review unit. Till this day I feel Ranjit is the most genuine and unbiased tech reviewer on RUclips and we all appreciate him for it!
Can we turn off auto brightness? In this video it seems it will turn on automatically
@@shibasishroysarkar584 yes you can turn off auto brightness but still even with the auto brightness off the brightness changes at times like when you lock and unlock the phone

One of my friend had a Lava Iris phone during our college days.. I had a Moto E then.. and looking at his phone, I was really impressed.. Good to see Lava coming back with a strong placed device in such a cut throat market.. Hoping it does not become another Micromax!

That means it's actually an excellent device. Only few bugs like auto brightness and edge detection and selfie cam HDR processing which is expected from a newbie like LAVA and can easily be fixed with software update. Amazing man. At 20k it has the capacity to become phone of the year. Excellent start LAVA,👍👍👍 carry it up so that we can ditch the overpriced Samsung smartphones. High hope for LAVA.

Launching a good device is not enough. But I praise them for a good start. Ofc they have to bring much more device like that and give service (both customer care and software update) to built their reputation.

I have used Lava Iris 456 (Android 4.2 Jelly Bean) and Lava Iris X1 (4.4 Kitkat) during 2012-16. Those were some good device back in the time.
I got it for my mom at 20k. Built quality is super premium. The display is super smooth,but yes,it is over saturated. The speaker is decent, not loud enough. The primary camera is good. The software is also way better than the Chinese brands. The battery life is really good and it survives 2 days for a light user. 66W charger, a silicon case and 3.5mm to type c converter in the box is a plus.

@@anonymousstudent5491 Yes it will be a good device. But you can also go for a lower segment device as well. Moto G54 is a good device at 14k. I got it for my father. The battery is super impressive (6000 maah). The speakers are best at that price. The loudness is even more than my iPhone. It has a LCD display, so it is a safer option considering the green lines issue on amoled displays. The UI is any day better than other Chinese brands.

Shame that Micromax, despite all the owner's personal wealth, couldn't do what LAVA is doing now! Hope LAVA improves the camera software and image processing. The difference between the two cameras is quite a contrast.

Many smartphone manufacturers had to dismantle their newly manufactured 3G devices because customers didn't wanted them anymore & micromax and lava was among them
@webflyer035 it's because they were short-sighted and lacked vision.
4G didn't happen immediately, it took 3 to 4 years to launch in India. They didn't see far enough to make 4g phones.
Anyway, thanks to the competition, they made something viable this time. Maybe they have better roadmap now.
Lava is doing good. 2 or 3 generations later lava may get a fair share of customers as well as brand identity.
Turn on the antifake touch mode in settings for touch issues encountered due to curve. It worked for me in camera and other places.
Hi Ranjit, I have the agni 2 and it has 8mp ultrawide camera not 13mp and also you didn't talk about haptics. It has amazing haptic feedback at this price point and it is turned very well within UI. You missed that point about haptics.

I have had a chance to work with their R&D folks probably more than 5-6 years back. Everything was deeply dependent on Chinese ODMs. Smartron, Karbonn , Micromax etc… all were of same at the mercy of Chinese ODMs. You could get your own protos made with few lakh INR with you! Hope situation has changed from then and we now have some ecosystems in place
I work in an Indian ODM myself, we design protos out of platform vendor supplied documents, EVK (and our own R&D on them), EVK schematics and all and have sent many from proto to mass production but ODMs in India are still only taking off... in fact we have our own SMT lines yet don't get projects from big brands

Great to see someone finally listening to the consumers' views on bloatware. I feel it will get tough competition from Edge 30 which is now priced at around 20K (although with just 128 GB ROM, I bought the Edge 30 for around 21K, the 8 GB variant), although it is 2022 device, I feel it is a worthy competition as the camera setup is better.
How did you get it for 21k? Planning to purchase one. Any nitpicks i should be aware of?

I have been using this phone for a week, its pretty good for the price. I faced a big issue, the indisplay fingerprint is not working after I applied a tempered glass. Other than that the experience with the phone is satisfactory.
Edit:The indisplay fingerprint is working good after an update given.
May be your Screen guard quality is not satisfactory
And buy the good Quality Screen guard
Since your issue was fixed by an update, it was surely a software but but still if anyone has issues with ud fingerprint after screen guard application, try registering the fingerprint again

@@deepakostwal2905 it's been almost i would rate this mobile 7.5 out of 10 , battery backup is decent , display is good but if I play RUclips video with black background some pixels do not render properly(i think it can be resolved by an update correct me if I am wrong) gaming is good i play genshin impact with medium graphics phone gets heated after 30min play.
Price is low right now(19999) than the price i bought for(21999) , back cover is hard to find i found some cheap quality back cover in shopsy and using it.
Except for the above this phone is perfect for a regular user.

Lava should be Ashamed for not sending review unit to the youtuber who is reviewing smartphones for many years with passion not for fashion . They had sent review units to many youtubers , most of them don't even know how to give in-depth review of a smartphone . Kudos to Ranjit for his honesty , passion & spirit , he purchased the phone with his hard earned money & highly praised the brand for making such incredible value for money phone . I have used the phone for few days & the experience was really great . Lava is doing great job but they shoud sent review units to those who has some sense about technology & who knows how to make a full in-depth review without skipping any important aspect of the phone .

If they improve the fine tuning and provide promised number of updates, Lava can become a great brand that rivals other brands.
I don't know why Lava couldn't get a dual speaker setup on this, they would have nailed it if they had done that!

@@manofculture1578 not everything, just an extra speaker which would make it ideal for media consumption coupled the screen which is the products usp.
I think they have large amount of spare mono speaker parts in their inventory.
They will provide stereo speakers after they manage to sell those mono speakers and recover some cost to purchase/manufacturer new parts in the process.
How's the haptic feedback? I'm happy for Lava that they are taking on the big guns.

I will see the long term performance and update situation till the big billion days sale, and if all is good, will get this for my mother hopefully for a lot cheaper by then.

Auto brightness issue tells the story of a half baked software 😅😅
There are so many bugs here and there in the UI. Camera app is also no functioning smoothly.
BUT, i will definitely lookup for this phone if i am buying in this segment.
I personally wants Indian companies to grow.

Finally a decent review for this phone. I have seen so many sponsored unboxing videos and was sick of them repeating the same script. Ranjit's take on it is fresh and accurate and confirms some of my suspicions about this phone.
Lava doesn’t allow bootloader unlocking. So, these smartphones don’t have custom rom support.
95% of the users buy for normal use,
5% or less than that flashes custom rom,
But ya company should give bootloader access to the consumers

Company is basically forcing you to use their software.
I hope Lava maintains this consistency with its products, so that people have a choice when buying a good smartphone, rather than buying an overpriced Samsung, we could go for Lava
