Best buffet ever was this one we had in either northern VA or DC, it was called, "Chesapeake Bay Seafood House" they had all you can eat Alaskan King Crabs, and all you can eat boiled peeled shrimp, that place was insane, it wasnt the cheapest place, but you got your money's worth for sure, it wasnt sustainable to give away Alaskan King Crabs basically for free, so they were eventually bought out by the Golden Corral owners if Im not mistaken; I miss that place.
thats interesting because in self-service reustaurants- plates and dishes are usually large so people tend to put more on them and pay more. Just as shopping carts and baskets started to become bigger.
@jordanwilliams4968 for sure, I think CiCis is great. They keep the largest selection of different pizzas, quickly replenished, the crust isn't greasy and thick to fill you up on dough. I like this channel but they seem to have an overall negative impression of all food they review. I would never pay 50% more to go to Pizza Hut and get to choose from 3 pizzas that aren't restocked nearly enough yet somehow are always burnt.
I miss ci cis so much...they closed all the ones where I live and damn do I miss it. I thought the pizza, salad and the desserts were tasty for 5 or 6 bucks you really couldnt beat it!
I was bummed when Sweet Tomatoes closed, loved that place. Fresh food with lots of tasty goodies, good soups, blueberry muffins with honey-whipped butter. Nothing quasi-healthy like that anymore, Mad Greens is an expensive ripoff.
I like buffets I am old. 80, I don't eat a lot. Watch my weight. I try to not over eat. That said, I can be a pig. When young had an older brother.. Skinny, growing like weed. He finally reached 6 plus. Was skinny until late Sixty. Me,I nearly 5 ft. Now under5 feet, 4.8. Still like buffets. Don't know where any are.

At MGM Circus Circus Reno Buffet we changed the serving utensils every time we change the dish out.

CiCi’s is fine….as long as you don’t expect REAL pizza. The food is OK and you get a good deal for your money.

When I was in Houston a long time ago, cici was only 2.99. It was great. They make custom orders too.

I have not eaten in a buffet in years... One downside to most buffets are the food it a bit stale as the food has been sitting there for awhile.

Buffets overall are pretty gross. As a rule; I won't spend less than $40 for a buffet. "Perceived quality" can be a real thing.

Golden Corral. 👎 probably the worst. It's hard to screw breakfast but its happen They have free meals on Veterans Day I still wouldn't go
