  • This is how I repaired the tachometer (tach) and fuel gauge in my 1995 Nissan Pathfinder WD21. This should be the same for the Nissan Hardbody D21 pickups too.

    I absolutely cannot thank you enough! My dad's 1993 Nissan D21 tachometer died probably right about the time the factory warranty expired. It's been broken ever since. I took it apart and performed the same test that you did on yours, pressing on the circuit board. Sure enough, it starts working when you push on the upper right corner. I reflowed the joints in that corner, for the two diodes and the capacitor. That did not work. Then I reflowed all the microchip joints, and it works great now. Thank you!

Shops have changed my fuel pump, and my cluster. See your video gave me some good clues on how to check the wiring. Thanks brother

    Hey man, I have a wd21 too with the fuel gauge acting up, might try what you did, by the way, these trucks have a weird ABS system that they have a speed sensor mounted on the differential in front of the pinion seal and that thing mounted on the frame with both brake lines attached do it, that's actually your ABS modulator, it only decreases pressure to your rear brakes, and by the way, no ABS on the front, you can find your ABS module under the driver's seat

      @@ProjectTimeGarage anytime, by the way, you have an SE Pathfinder, if there's such a thing as a holy grail Pathfinder, you have it, rear disc brakes which are fairly rare, sunroof also fairly rare, and the rear shocks are a big one because you have the optional adjustable suspension, and I believe no one makes those anymore.

      Thanks for the video! I just picked up at 95 se, manual trans. First things on my fixit list is repairing the odometer (the rest of the cluster works), replace sunroof gasket, new CVs, change fluids, adress a couple leaks and get my dang tire carrier to fully lock in so the light goes off 😂
      New to Nissan & 4x4 maintenace/repair so any tips would be much appreciated 😁
      The dream is to get it reliable enough for trips to the mountains, where she belongs!

    These are tanks. Better than the 4runner of the same era IMO... They had very little problems other than the usual old car issues. I've owned 3 of them and put hundreds of thousands of trouble free miles on them all. Great on the trails too.

    Love all the work youve done to the car man, i have one myself bought it from new, but has less features compared to yours (sun roof, abs) i have the top trim in my country and it only has a 2.4 engine, the engine is as durable as it gets but just doesnt have a lot of juice to it..extremely lousy. Thinking of swaping engines but theres just not a lot of option where i come from. Had issues with the gauges over time as well, had to resolder everything in mine and it works just fine. Keep up the work man, apprexiate it

    The main purpose of the rear wing is to keep dirt/dust/snow off the rear glass. Without it everything curls around with the wind and lands on the rear of the pathfinder.

    Hey man love your videos !
    I have 11/91 sold 92 pathfinder. Recently I started experiencing that the door locks work when they feel like it. No big deal. My main problem is that my heater doesn’t blow warm. I can’t seem to find anything on heater system specially on this model that apparently they went to an electrical version instead of manual cable driven. Would I have to rip the dash out to access the heater valve ? Thanks

    • @ProjectTimeGarage

      Usually the heater valve itself is under the hood, passenger's side. Look for where the heater hoses go into the firewall.

    currently taking mine apart but have some questions for you or anyone able to awnser. Ok so my 95 pathys fuel gauge works accurately when its warm season. when its cold it doesn't pic up a reading. is yours as temperamental as this? ive looked all over the internet and aint finding anything.

    • @ProjectTimeGarage
      @ProjectTimeGarage  4 месяца назад

      I would diagnose it by taking the fuel sending unit wire at the tank and grounding it straight to the frame/body. If the fuel gauge shoots up, then it's a sender problem in the tank. But if the gauge doesn't go up, then it's likely a gauge issue.
