    That is a beautiful tractor. I had a similar issue of the implement wandering with my disks when I first hooked them up to my tractor, you might want to chain the 2 lower bars to the draw bar to keep the implement from straying makong the rows a little wavy. My $.02

  • @scottn7464
    @scottn7464 3 года назад +4

    Yes definitely want to lock those sway bars to minimize side to side movement. Also the faster you go the taller the hills. Pick out a spot to line the tractor up with, drop the hammer and don’t look back! Great video, like that sandy soil. Much easier to work than the red clay I have. That’s a good tractor driver you got there.

    i know earlier your rows arent straight i noticed you dont have stabilizer bars they will keep your rows straight that way implements wont go from side to side leading off !!!😊

  • @kerryvwhite
    @kerryvwhite 2 года назад

    Thank you for sharing! I've been looking for what implement I need to create rows... so far I've discovered a furrow plow, middle buster, bottom (which I think is the same as turn), Disk plow, chisel, levee, sub boiler, moldboard, reversible... and now a disc bedder. Does anyone know how well they work in a mostly clay-type soil?

  • @shelbydavis3311
    @shelbydavis3311 3 года назад

    Put the listers (disks) closer together and put some sweeps behind the tractor tires and you will have v shaped rows like a tobacco field......

    Good video. I hope your wife doesn't continue to ride the clutch, as she did the first few rows. New sub, but still have our Md-40, we bought in spring of 53.

  • @aliskarape177

    That thing needs 2 more listers to go behind the wheels. She needs to just turn around and plow back the other way instead of circling all the way around the patch.

    Where do you get original parts for that beautiful tractor? My Father-in-law has the same tractor (it is a "40 U") and it is all original but unrestored. He is giving it to me and my wife as he can no longer climb up onto it. I want to restore it, but work it as you guys do yours.

      @@dairleautoclassicrestorati6892 The sway chains can be moved to keep it from straying side to side. There should just be bolts through the drawbar support.
