I was impressed by Eoin's foot badminton skills - he picked it up immediately and looked like a pro within seconds! That's what is nice about Asia, constant random interactions with people and constant new adventures everywhere.
You guys seem like such a lovely couple. I hope you guys have some time to explore the country and it would be best to travel from South to North as the topography, the culture and the scenery will become more spectacular to give you a distinct impression before you leave the country. If you do plan to rent scooters, just stay the hell away from buses and trucks, they're maniacs and reckless as they're on the clock so don't mess with them. When you ride scooters in the city, ride slowly, that's the best advise I can give you after having lived and worked there for 10 years. Don't mistake my suggestions as discouragement because I miss riding scooters in VN like you wouldn't believe. It's the best feeling of freedom I have ever experienced. Take care and I look forward to seeing more of your VN videos.
Aw thank you so much for this! We definitely plan on renting scooters but want to wait until we are outside the big cities, get used to the Vietnam roads/ traffic and take it from there but you have not discouraged us don't worry. This is all very helpful! Can't wait to share more Vietnam videos with you!!
Thanks for sharing this video. You two are a lovely couple. In case if you don't know, Vietnam is really good in shuttlecock. They have won the most world championships. I hope you enjoy your stay in Vietnam.

They wear mask to prevent sunlight and dirt; no law, just preference for lighter skin, you see they have jackets and even long skirt for women to cover their skin under the sun. Cloth mask wearing on the street is the norm long before Covid in big cities in VN.
You should just walk normally when crossing the street, no one tries to hit you. The traffic seems intimidating but it has its own rule, you will get used to it when u live here long enough.

There's way more food to eat than that...com tam, banh xeo, bun bo Hue, etc. The best thing to do is get a food guide like the one "Chase and Shelbs" got while in HCMC, MomDuty and "Flora and Note" got great ones in Hanoi, and "Steph and Pete" got in Hoi An.
Vietnamese like to wear masks even before the pandemic. You can see we drive motorbikes mostly, so we wear masks to prevent dust and exhaust fumes and stuff like that. Also we hate the sun so wearing masks helps protecting our skin too 😂

@@EoinandAisling yeah, it’s mostly just common sense for people who don’t want to get COVID. Also, in Vietnam and Asia it’s quite normal to wear a mask when you’re feeling unwell to protect others, and people would already always wear them in traffic to avoid the bad air.
The traffic tip is a great one, we realised people were wearing them while driving to protect themselves from dust and general fumes and it's such a great idea
