Super helpful. Couldn't find this comparison elsewhere. Thanks!!
Awesome! I've been wanting to make it for about 6 weeks since u got the new one but i just never got around to it
Thanks for doing that sold!
Thank you, Nick, Many thanks for the crystal clear descriptions and technical data.
I do like the Blink 500 B2 pro version, a personal preference. The compilations of voice samples were highly clear and now I know what combinations to use. Thumbs up and subscribed because you are gregariously honest. Best of luck from the UK.
Awesome! Thanks for letting me know! I hope you like the Pro version, I don't think you can really go wrong with it. It had some features I really liked like the screen that you can really see what's going on and the charging case. Not to mention it's smaller too
damnnn this is the most clear review that i really need, thank you so much dude for side by side sound comparison, now i know what version to buy, also your final thought really helpfull 🙏🙏
Wow thanks for the compliment! Which one did you go for? I'll tell ya, it's been months, and I still use the original and have the new one sitting in the box. I really should just sell it...
The built-in mic on the PRO is SO MUCH BETTER than the built-in mic on the original. I just bought the original off of ebay and received the PRO instead. I was only going to use the lav mics with the original kit, but since I received the PRO and the built-in mic is so much better I may be using them that way as well. The extra battery life is reassuring, even if not needed. It let's me know I am more likely to not lose a battery during a project. I also like the headphone jack on the receiver on the PRO. The "line in" on the transmitters is surprising. I can't think of when I would want to transmit from another audio device to the Saramonic receiver. Anyway, you did a fantastic job comparing the two and presenting all the information in a simple way.
Thanks for the feedback! I've actually not been using my original one and when I go to use it the battery is dead and I've been kicking myself for selling the pro cause it would probably be charged cause the charging case. Oh well 🤷. Glad you're enjoying the pro!
Thanks for the demonstration, you have convinced me. Just purchased the Saramonic Blink 500 PRO with the automatic pairing and charging case.
Awesome!!! I hope you like it!
Thanks for this review. Very clear, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks man. I appreciate your comparison.keep making the content others aren't covering. All the best!
Thanks! I will try!!! Tell, me, which one do you like better based off of my video? I have stuck to the original and am still planning to sell the new ones. The main reason for that is I don't like how big the charging case is. Just another thing to carry around and my camera bag is already full!!!
@@NickBorsellino I'm actually ordering a set and I'm deciding to go with the older ones. Someone else made a review about the audio giving gain issues.
@@FidelTshivhasa oh very interesting about the gain issue. I'm very happy with the original ones the only downside that I like about the new ones more is the digital display to see what volume level it is on. But I found the audio metering screen on the new one wasn't as useful as I hoped.
Great review, thank you 😁
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Listening to the audio samples. I'm very surprised you stuck with the original. The pros sounds so much better. Much fuller sound.
thanks for your input! I don't use my wireless mic system as much as I used to
thank you for the review!
you're welcome! thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for sharing this information. It is very helpful. I was going to buy the original version for the price, but if you cannot use line and mic then I cannot use it with my mixer, I think.
I'm glad it was helpful! Thanks for letting me know.
Thanks for this, great comparison
thanks for letting me know you liked it! What have you decided?? I still have both but I'm planning to sell my new one on ebay I think rather than just have 2. I don't really like the size of the charging case for the "added features". Curious what you think?
@@NickBorsellino im thinking the pro, what i really need to know is if its possible to hook it up to a mixer, or PA speaker...
not sure if you know? i reckon its possible using an XLS or 6.35 jack adapter.
otherwise, great comparison review, very helpful
finally i have a choice.. thanks broo🎉.. im from indonesia
you're welcome
thanks mate for the review. I am going with the original version. i have bad experience charging cases on my Platonics bluetooth hands-free. The case got spoiled and I couldnt charge it using the case. i had to plug them in, which is a bit crap because micro-USB..
Right on. I still have both but i only used the new one for the demo. I really should sell it
@@NickBorsellino Just thought I'd let you know that I just bought it today at the shop, I made my decision based on your thorough review
1. similar sound quality
2. USB-c on the devices themselves
3. no need a case to charge (say NO to Micro-USB!)
4. cheaper
You have a great channel, please continue posting such quality videos
@@FinancialFaiz Awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback I really appreciate it! I hope you like the Saramonic as much as I do!!!
Wah financial faiz

thanks
No problem!! Thanks for the comment!
Hi! Thank you for the video! Is the pro version recording in two channels?
Good question! I wish I knew! Seems like that might actually be a possibility but I never saw anything about that anywhere... You'd think they would tell you that somewhere in the instructions or something. hmmmmm... sorry
@@NickBorsellino thanks! I bought old one.
thanx
you're welcome!!
The Mic/Line In gives you the ability to receive signals at different levels. Line level is about 1,000 times greater than mic level. A very common use would be for a wedding videographer to switch this to line in and grab an aux out on the DJ's sound console. If it only took mic level inputs, the input would be way too hot for the transmitter to receive.
ah cool thanks for letting me know!
Does the line in recieved a stereo signal or just mono?
@@coldtricky it’s a 3.5 TRS input which leads me to believe it’s just mono.
It's really funny that they went backwards with micro-USB for the new version's port
right. who does that?!
Hello can I pair the old model with the new one??
You don't need the charging case to charge the Pro series. They can charge the same way as the original as well via USB. The Charging case is convenient for long shoots.
That is true, but you're paying for the charging case and it doesn't come with charging cables and bricks to charge them directly so you would have to purchase additional components to do that, but it is possible!
I just got the pro B3, I got it because I want to use this for my iPhone. My question is can I use the transmitter for my camera when I decide to get one?
I believe if you have an adapter it should work basically the same. Of course, your camera would need to have a mic input which is usually 1/8" (3.5mm). So you'd need a female lightning to male 1/8" (3.5mm) TRS adapter. A quick amazon search doesn't bring anything up for this type of adapter though as this is not really a common thing to do. There is one splitter I found but I don't know if it would work but it's the only one I found that has the female lightning. amzn.to/3JC4kQn You would then need a separate AUX/3.5mm TRS cable of whatever length you prefer to go into your camera like this... amzn.to/3H7M4wF . The ones that come with the saramonic B1 & B2 are short pigtail style and they have both TRS and TRRS that go into TRS. Those are affiliate links if you chose to use them, they were just waaaaaaaay shorter than the actual link to amazon. Oh and if you're confused about TRS vs TRRS here's a quick video explanation... ruclips.net/video/m4hy63fEgA0/видео.html Basically, TRRS is usually for a stereo headset with a microphone, commonly used with cellphones. A TRS is just stereo headphones, also known as an AUX cable. That was a very long answer to a simple question, SORRY! LOL
Hey Nick! Do you know If I'm able to Record áudios in diferent channel? With The non pro version?
hmmmm. I don't think so
Have you tried to pair the old version Blink 500 TX to the new version RX
No, I never even thought to try that. I guess in theory it could work??? But why would you want to do that?
Could a B3 or B4 receiver be compatible with B2 microphones? In other words, can I upgrade just by purchasing the B3/B4 receiver to plug directly into my iPhone?
im not sure if they are cross compatible i never tried. i don't know if saramonic has customer support but that's where i'd try to ask if i was you
do you know if the original version would pair with a gopro hero 5?
If it has an aux input then you just plug it in. It's not Bluetooth except to itself (transmitter to receiver)
do you know if dead cat can be attached to the old version?
nope the old one doesn't have a deadcat option. But if you're considering that you'd be better off just using the lav mic with a windscreen.. The transmitter with the deadcat is pretty huge. Not sure if they make deadcats for lav mics but that would be the best of the best option
Can I to pair transmitter blink 500 old version with receiver blink 500 pro?
I'm not sure. Why would you want to do that though?
I've an old Blink 500 B6. There the two Mic's are mixed together into an stereo signal.
Is it possible in the Pro Version to send one Mic to the right channel and the other one to the left channel?
I believe so! Check out this video it should help you. ruclips.net/video/woqB7MQD5yk/видео.html
Basically when you record it puts one mic on the right channel and the other on the left channel and in editing you split them. Hope that helps! Also Saramonic just released the Blink500 ProX which they are sending me to review so stay tuned for that! I will be comparing all these models
My camera (Sony NX80) has two XLR inputs. Can these be connected (one mic to each channel) if I use two XLR connectors?
hmmmmmmmmm I have no idea!!! Sorry!!!
Yes u can
@@carloschacon9134 Thank you
Good vid. Question if I may.... does the old version transmitters pair with the new version receiver? thx
oh good question! I dont know!!! sorry :(
I bought one, as they were on offer. I couldn't get them to pairm
I can't for the life of me understand why they would go from USB on the non-pro model to USB micro on the Pro. Everything is moving to C, why would they take a step back?
yeahhhhhh i don't know either. They recently sent me the ProX to try out but i haven't opened the box yet. I'll have a video of that as well as comparing all three models sometime soon
so I would have 4 microphones for my sports broadcast
gotcha!
What is latency of Saramonic Pro?
quick google search tells me 12 ms
The Blink 500 B2 Pro are garbage. After about 8 months the TX unit's screen was so dim I could barely read it. A few months later the TX unit would not turn on. Now the RX's screen is dim and hard to read.
Because I have 3 transmitters with 1 standard blink 500 receiver, but I can't connect more than 2 together so the third one I wanted to connect to the blink 500 pro receiver ... in this review it says that it can be done! see minute 32......ruclips.net/video/xSbQTekqpB4/видео.html
It's in another language so I have no idea what he is saying LOL! Hopefully you get it to work though!
New version sounds better
too much useless and silly blablaba.
thanks for the feedback
