I was so thrilled to see another Avatar reaction! Two more incredible episodes. The Great Divide gives us some neat insight into air nomad philosophy, and The Storm draws some really good parallels between Aang and Zuko. i love the running theme between both episodes about perspectives and their opposites.
Thank you! They will definitely be up more often going forward! The writing on this show is phenomenal. I loved getting to see Gyatso again even though that broke my heart!
Aang is not only practicing air bending since long ago btw, hes already a certified *master* airbender too They dont say it in the main series but thats what the tatoos mean
Well, we see here the differences in Gyatso and Ozai’s parenting styles, highlighting how Gyatso’s nurturing, compassionate approach fosters Aang’s growth and well-being, while Ozai’s harsh, authoritarian methods lead to Zuko’s internal struggle and quest for approval. By contrasting these two characters, the episode underscores the profound impact that different parenting philosophies can have on their children’s development and future paths.
The toy relics stuff is based in how they choose the dalai lama irl. And if u notice only the addults and Aang have the arrow tattoo, that because they are airbending Masters, Aang is one of the youngest masters ever
I did notice the other youngsters didn't have the tattoos thanks for the explanation! I recently rewatched King of the Hill and the character Bobby did the same test 😂
Not sure if anyone mentioned but heres a fun fact that isn't explained in the shows: Apparently there are 13(iirc) techniques that an airbender must master to receive the markings of a master. 1-12 can be mastered in any order and at any time but #13 has to be mastered at an older age/you receive #13 via hitting a certain age (i forget which). But #13 can be negated if the airbender creates a brand new technique! Aang created the air scooter and therefore became the youngest airbending master at 12 years old! Also among fans the great divide is considered to be the lowest point in the series so congrats on hitting the milestone! It's all up from here as you could probably tell from the storm lol
I LOVE THE AIR SCOOTER! I laugh out loud every time he rides it in the opening 😂. I think the Great Divide reminded me of an episode of Parks and Rec with a few mature people trying to keep the peace between neighbors, it was very realistic 😂
Others have said it, but The Great Divide is largely seen as the "worst" episode in the series...and it's not like it's bad, it just has a bit less to chew on compared to some others. I think the fact that it's immediately followed by The Storm doesn't do it any favors. It still demonstrates a good lesson for kids that bearing grudges can lead to problems that persist long after the initial problem. The Storm is just a great way to flesh out Aang and Zuko. As early as the second episode of the series, Aang mentioned he "never wanted to be" the Avatar and now we know why. I can't imagine the amount of pressure placed on someone so young, let alone survivor's guilt thrown on top of that. And if you weren't already convinced there's some good in Zuko, this episode definitely won him a lot of fans. Here's a not-so-fun trivia bit you might see in Zuko's flashback too; as Iroh looks away when Zuko is burned, Zhao is there grinning. Glad to see more of these reactions. I was excited to see you get to The Storm but there's still some good stuff to come.
Thank you! 😊 The Great Divide reminded me of a parks and rec town hall meeting with Aang as Leslie trying to get everyone on board for their own good 🤣 LOVED The Storm, I wasn’t expecting to get Zuko’s back story so soon but I’m very emotionally invested in his journey now :( I’m hoping to get these up quicker, I’m recruiting my cousins to learn how to edit because I want to just binge watch all of these shows right now! Plus I had to skip The Music of Avatar Live in Concert thats coming to town so I don’t get spoiled 🥲
Wei Jin and Jin Wei mean the same thing, defy a prohibition, like bring food down in the canyon after told not to. 😉 Your analyses and thoughts on the show are my favorite. ❤
Love your reactions. The Great Divide is fun for it's different animation styles and the old earth bender guide. I even like Aang's fib at the end although many fans seem to dislike it. Now The Storm is on another level, one of the best of season one and it would be a top ten for the series except that there are so many excellent episodes to come.
What you described in regards to Zuko, you have to keep watching. You've got a long way to go as you watch the series. There will be moments where he disappoints and he redeems himself entirely.
It's so hard to not spoil this show for you and tell you character growth at the same time. Just keep watching. You will truly understand. I'm also watching other RUclips channels watch this show. Some are still in season 1, one is in the middle of season 3. The treats this show gives just keep on coming. SO WORTH WATCHING.
If this is considered the “less good” then I’m excited for what’s to come with the rest of the series because I still laughed a few times 😂 the guide was my favorite!
There is two theories with episode 12: One, the division of soldiers Zuko defend is the one that travels with him, at the end he prioritize his wellbeing in the plan and the field. Two, the scar of Zuko has a form like something was put in that zone, some says Ozai heat his hand and put it in Zuko's face until burn the skin and more painful
Hey!! I wanted to give you a quick feedback. Your playlist for this show is backwards!!!! with the most recent at the top of the list. I just saw this video recommended to me and I always like watching Avatar reactions, so I pulled up the playlist to catch up and watch all your videos, but if I hit "Play All", it starts with this video and plays the first episode last. This makes it harder for you to pick up new viewers and get that all-important click-through metric that will get your videos recommended to more people. Please consider maintaining your playlists so that new viewers can hit "Play All" and watch from the beginning to the end. Looking forward to the rest of the series!!

Well said!

36 by the way not 13. To be masters they need reaching the level of master by completing all 36 tiers of airbending.

You can find video of Dee Bradley Baker making the sounds for Appa and Momo.
I'll definitely need to look that up!
Wei Jin and Jin Wei mean the same thing, defy a prohibition, like bring food down in the canyon after told not to. 😉
Your analyses and thoughts on the show are my favorite. ❤
Thank you! And that is too funny 😂 I figured it would be something silly like that with the similar names, but that's great 😅

Thank you 💚 I liked Aang's fib too, it was sweet and innocent just like him 🥹

The Great Divide is considered the "less good" of all the series. And yet, is at least funny.

@catchingupkate It's kinda funny how The Great Divide is a kinda meh episode, but just after we have the BOMB that is The Storm.

Ooo I like both of those theories. I had been wondering who was chosen to accompany Zuko and Iroh!

Thanks so much, Andrew! I went and fixed them I really appreciate the feedback :)
The great divide is my least liked episode, and the storm is near the top 😅
Probably helps having them back to back 😂 The characters in the Great Divide were too realistic to actual neighbors lol
The reason why the greatest divide is the worse episode because when this show aired they constantly played this episode over abd over
Ohhhh that makes a lot of sense!
