You've been a great source of inspiration and knowledge on not only Starcraft but learning and life in general. Thank you Neuro
Some of his books recommendations have deeply changed my perception of things, and I've passed it on to my brothers who are not passing it on to their friends. Neuro's energy is part of every meritorious action sprouting out of all that. 🙏
15:15 - it's funny that you say it cause I remember my entrance to master: I worked my ass off, it was 2345, last quarter to season lock and finally hit it... I took a phone and called my friend! hahah, good times. As for the Blizzcon, I remember you standing in a queue and asking them then they gave you "thanks" off the stage, I still remember your genuine smile back!
I’ve been hanging around on and off for years now neuro. So glad you’ve built something you’re proud of 👍
I've played SC since I was a little kid but never MP. Watching your videos has kinda lit this fuse that makes me want to get good and try to push up the ladder. It's a very rewarding game in the sense of learning and putting that knowlenge into action in several different scenerios against different types of players. I always thought "no way I can do that", but now I want to try. Your dedication and positive vibes while playing a competitive game are to an extent non existent in most of these online competitive games, and it's incredible to watch. Thanks man, for the entertainment, but also the good vibes and showing you can still have fun even if you're not winning every single game, but learning from those losses. You're a God among men, and have even Godley-er hair.
Words cannot describe the joy and nostalgia I felt when reading this title. You're in a different time zone from me so I can't really tune into the stream but your content has always resonated with me. Haven't watched the video yet but very excited for this one.
Awesome story Neuro. Doesn’t change the fact that Protoss players are lower life forms akin to rodents Kappa
Zerg is the new Protoss.
You cry because the death ball was a thing.
How did you beat it? You couldn't turtle.
Guess how you beat a Zerg today? Guess what happens if you don't do what is needed?
Yup, thanks for playing.
By your own logic, you should hate your self as a Zerg boyo.
@@NinjaOnANinja ya troll bot 😝😝🤣
@Mactakun man don’t sell yourself so short🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻🤜🏻 protoss is quite strong as a zerg I only stand about 45% chance of winning in zvp 😢😢
@NinjaOnANinja build some robo units and 5 void rays and you counter every single Zerg unit known to existence.
@@Mactakun if you are in bronze.
Great video! Loved the IdrA bit and the stuff about old LANs!
It's kind of amazing to deep dive into what your life has been for the past decade around this game. It almost feels like I've digged into ancient relics lol. I've always had a tendency to read and spend most of my gaming climbs on psychology/neurosciences topics, and as an ex Poker and CS semi-pro player it's always been a relief to play some SC2 ladder, just like you said, just to develop my skills in a "safe" and calculated environment. Not been around here for much, I've only known your content for about a year now, but you have this amazing ability to summarize and use the right words to describe situations and concepts, it just feels like I've been there during the whole journey.
This game and RTS in general are purely fascinating, it even comes to the point that I've sometimes felt frustrated that other genres took the lead on the competitive scene. Other games are just so much less rewarding, much more prone to volatility... The very best soloQ players on League don't ever reach +66%WR when getting into the max tiers, it absolutely fucks my mind up that this is considered normal.
You've been a very big inspiration for me so far, and I very much HOPE that Stormgate will put RTS back in its rightful place.
Also love how you seem to be connected with nature lmao, just feels like you're such a great human being in general.
Love
The realization that others playing the same game are enjoying the same hobby as you is such a refreshing and simple reminder of how we should be treating people. I do my best to always be positive and helpful, but that advice will further help me to avoid back-biting and negative views on teammates and opponents. Thanks Neuro
Thanks Cookio for supporting Neuro while he was starting. I wish I had friends like that
everyone wishes they had a friend like that but very few want to be a friend like that
i am in gold league and the first time i beat maxed skytoss (archons/carriers) with my ultra corrupter army, i felt like a god. and recently i beat a good battle mech player for the first time by flanking with my lings and attacking with my roaches, i felt soo good. ive played like 900 matches of sc2 (a big portion of these games are just smurfs leaving before the game even starts) but i think im starting to make decisions reactively and it is such a cool feeling.
the best video of the day without a doubt.
It's pretty cool we both like sc2 and kotor 😄 and also the fact when I took a game away from a master player on EU I was super excited and he also couldn't believe I won, but he wasn't toxic about it at all ❤
I am a Dimond 3 player but went undercover as a bronze player in a master tournament 😂
I don't even know how long I've been watching your streams at this point, but so much has changed since then for me. You were the first steamer I saw actually treating yourself and your opponents with respect and a truly positive mindset and I still find it so extremely compelling. Your attitude has rubbed off on me in all aspects of my life. Not to say I was ever BM or toxic, but having that growth mindset, being accountable, and solutions oriented are all traits I wanted to leverage for my own good and for those around me. I have a highly stressful job and my clients keep coming back because I am basically tilt-proof and look for solutions where other people just try to assign blame and pass the buck.
So much gratitude to you and our community for always being rock solid and fun.
Thanks for the reminisce. I remember first starting out in 2011 with zerg and doing nydus strategies, I was so nervous my hands were shaking I could barely hit the keys. What a great game to have played all these years.
Im enjoying age of mythology lately and I understood that i like to create maps before playing .
I've stopped playing actively a few years ago, but I still follow your content. Your guides have helped me so much when I was trying to reach master league - and I made it which kinda is the biggest gaming achievement of my life. You're a cool dude with a healthy view on life. Keep on doing what you enjoy. People like you are important, especially in the gaming scene.
Even though I don't play starcraft, I follow your content get motivation and inspiration in real life. 👏
You sharpened my mindset for competitive games, Neuro, thank you!
Thank you Neuro for the video! This has been a very fun listen and it did help remind me of what the mindset of starcraft should be like. I've gotten GM around a year and a half ago on EU but since then I've taken a large break, so I did not get the GM season finish, which is what I am after now. The video does help reiterate what is important about the journey and the goal, as well as generally being an interesting story about yourself.
24:27 I remember something like this too!! I beat a 4 k mmr terran player with my 3.1 k mmr without cheese... I was so happy! I even watch the replay with my girlfriend and explained how he did a mistake and I was able to capitalize on it...
Thnaks Neuro I Love it.
I was in the SC2 club at UTD too, I even played in one of our first colligiate tournaments. Do you remember Josh? I think he led the club at the time. Small world.
Always wondered what Jason newsted was up to after Metallica. Nice to see you doing well
You won with me, i am less tilted and stressed about losses in Videogames and i take responsibility for my games
Ty alot
You're a real one, man. Thanks for this
You’re a wonderful human being and mentor, even if virtually so. Thank you for sharing your journey, Neuro! I’ve learned a lot!
I like everything about this ❤
BRO sorry if Say BRO and you hate that or something... I went to UT DALLAS as well, Lived across the street(not from Dallas) I started watching you like years ago, since we're on life stories prob 2016 ish I was living in Korea at the time. For whatever reason you popped up a few months ago, I may have subscribed then cause I was like -- oh ya This guy! Anyway, when you said you are from UT dallas.. struck a chord, you're not a true blue Texan are you? Something draws me to you (no homo) and I hope you're having success. I respect you.
I have watched Neuro off and on throughout the years. I would always gravitate toward his content because of mindset and how positive you always were. I will definitely hit him up for coaching.
Love you Neuro! Thank you for the time, passion, and effort that you've put in over the years. You're a great positive force of this community
Congrats bro 🎉❤
RIP Kuukyo. You can really make a difference in the world through your choices and actions.
GG. Been a twitch sub for over 5 years now. Easiest money spent. You're doing great work.
People who would fall asleep on stream? Do you remember a terran player called Pain user? He fell asleep on one of his streams and it was hilarious : )
Neuro, I moved onto playing chess last year, but I watched your stream for years. You're great.
Damn youre a fantastic storyteller
Man, you should cast some recent Dark games... I would like to hear some explanations from you that guy is doing magic in some games.
I get your commentary on team and own progress. I played DOTA1 for 10 years or so and never past through D tier. Also it cost me a lot of IRL shit: job, split with my gf. Combined It was year or so in pure gameplay. In Starcraft 2 I'm slowly progressing and my rank grows. I hate playing with teammates and in team games probably because I suck at them and hate humans in general.
Great stories neuro. Thanks for sharing !
who doesn't love a sort of story time segment?
Very cool, excited to watch this
The king returns to drop more wisdom. Thanks Neuro
thirty-three THOUSAND. not counting alt accts, there are alt accts!
Hell yeah
Been watching you for close to a decade if not one... I moved onto dota so it's nice to see you there! I may have added you on steam hehe bet you declined tho ;p.. will always return here! Starcraft is still near and dear
