1 day late, but Merry Christmas, and also happy new year to everyone!
Thank you so much for your support during this weird year, let's hope 2021 will be better!
Stay safe and stay awesome!
It’s still Christmas here in the U.S. at least on the East Coast, no worries👍
Merry Christmas my friend
We haven't had Christmas dinner yet here in Nova Scotia, Canada!!!!!!
Am I late?
You know, if you're gonna do a diorama with water, you might aswell go all out and do a fording test like some experiental tank at Aberdeen or a tiger II at the Henschel plant.
Merry Christmas to all
Thanks😃
Same to you 😀
@Bram van der Veen I wonder if that is a Pun in airforce?
You say that was a disaster but you know - the tannin from leaves actually do leach into patchy slushy snow making a dirty mess IRL so the end result seems pretty alright to me. So I would say it's a Bob Ross style happy little accident.
I dunno... I spend a lot of time in the forest even when it snows and I haven't ever noticed something like that. Maybe it happens in very small amounts, not like what happened here. Next time I'll give the Gravel fixer several hours to fully dry so it won't happen again :)
@@NightShiftScaleModels You could use the colour leaching to your advantage - snow caught in ruts or on the side of the road would probably get a lot of dirt and mud thrown up on it.
And merry christmas!
@@NightShiftScaleModels You forgot the yellow snow.
@@NightShiftScaleModels A well traveled road during wartime could be real dirty and trampled from dismounted soliders. It gives the model more mystery! It could be next to a village recently fought over. Way better than pure white! War is messy!
RUclips's bells jingle and it ain't for Christmas, it's for Uncle Night Shift's new vid!
Merry Christmas y'all!
Since my backyard doesn’t have many sticks…. I use those little things that grapes are attached too for trees.
Now we are talking , a project every body can follow without breaking the bank... more of them would be awesome
Yes! the lord of scale modeling is back! Merry Christmas Uncle Nightshift🎄🎁
I'm a railway modeller and i gotta say this is my favourite piece of work from you. The diorama looks very natural.
MERRY CHRISTMAS UNCLE NIGHT SHIFT🎅
I have a video recommendation: tools and equipment all armour modellers must have eg. Paints brush sizes and things like that
While watching you forget how tiny the whole piece is because of the great amount of detail. It's fantastic. I haven't the skill to make something as amazing as this, so it's almost painful to watch. As I'd give almost anything to have a piece of Art like this to display in my home. I particularly love the Stug. III AUSF. B, it was an amazing weapon that was greatly underestimated during the war, and caused severe damage to the Allied forces. Anyhow, it's a great diorama. I'm envious.
"Don't eat yellow snow!" I wouldn't see the discolouration as a problem. Wet fallen leaves have the same effect on snow in nature, so that was rather a "happy accident" (RIP Bob Ross). In the end it's a nice diorama with the cutest StuG I ever saw.
Even at the Holidays is oncle Nightshift there for us :D
Have you ever thought of doing scale model Ships? I’d love to see something like that on your channel one day
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Šťastne a veselé 🎄🎁
built a diorama like this recently for a 1/144 stug III i had a lot of fun and took some inspiration from this video!
19 70's Tamiya 1/25 Tiger 1 and a Bandai ATST is what I got. The Tiger was one I built over 35 years ago.
does anyone else get this but zvezda box art just looks so satisfying and clean to me lol.
Great recovery on the snow. I think we have all had something that ended with unforeseen consequences. The times it has happened to me, it was always from mixing 2 or more unlike products. Then, in hindsight I could see my mistake. This is a great learning video. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all. See you next year.
You do such a fantastic job, regardless of scale, Martin. I've learned so much from you, so thank you for all the videos this year! I hope you had a fantastic holiday and Happy New Year!
Hey Martin! Another really nice one! I am addicted to these 1/100 models. Already build a few and just cannot stop buying them. This video will be the final push that makes me to create my first winter scene. Thank you for the endless inspiration!
Lovely plastic on those Zvezda kits. I built the King Tiger and the Panther.
This looks great! I love the smaller projects in between the larger projects! It’s fun to see you experiment and try new products and techniques
Im 14 and i love playing with model tanks and role-playing with them
Merry Christmas to world. Joyeux noël à tous et toute.
Suggestion: make your own model tank from scrap tanks
Looks good I once went as far as wrapping twigs small sticks around small firecrackers & setting them off to try to replicate bomb damaged trees.
Amazing work, i wasn't considering making a diorama for my new little Praga V3S in 1/87 scale but it might be fun
I absolutely love these 1/100 builds.
I was really impressed with the dirty snow. It was accurate with leaves leeching tannins..
I didn’t even realize this was a new video! I was just binging your videos all day! Merry Christmas Uncle Night Shift!!
@0:42 I have this kit and the skill needed to ream out that tiny gun barrel is completely overlooked. For me, that’s one of the most impressive things in this vid.
when making a Video takes longer than bulding a Model AND a Diorama .... ... Merry chirmas !!!! looks really Good
Don't eat the yellow snow . Great model, good scale for war gaming
Thank you! Entertaining and insightful as usual. I just finished one of these in 1/72 so it was nice to see it pop up on your video! Sweet ass dio
!
A spot of yellow snow just adds that touch of realism. Happy New Year.
Great video, loved the yellow snow problem solution. You made 2020 better. Enjoy the week off, have a great 2021 and don't eat the yellow snow.
Ideal Christmas special for me to watch! Thank you very much and have great holidays!
Thank you for this beautiful video! I really want to get a takom Jagtiger from my parents and make a big project so your videos will be tutorial for my work and Merry Christmas!
I think the 'Disaster' as you called it actually made the effect overall more realistic. A great years work Martin. Looking forward to 2021's additions.
Thank you so much for sharing your work and techniques with us! Personally I always learn so much from your video's, they are priceless treasures. I used to build model when I was a teenager (like 20 y ago), not of nice quality and I make lots of them. During first corona pandemic I decided to revive my old hobby and try to add some next level techniques and realism to the models, thank you for sharing you tips and advice really really thankful to you! ;)
Merry Christmas and thank you for the Stug Christmas present video. I am an RC airplane modeler and watching your videos inspired me to weather a 1/6 scale Stuka I am building....just a novice but the change in the planes appearance is amazing. I'm hooked!!!! Just ordered a Meng 1/35 French FT-17 Light Tank model kit and going to try assembling an armor kit for the first time. Thank you for the fantastic videos and the amazing work you do!!!!!
Your inpired work on the base adds a lot to the atmopshere, wonderful looking dio!! And happy holidays!😍😍🎄
Your trees look good. Winter trees look almost dead. So you did a job.
Now I'm back after the Xmas break I can watch this in peace. Damn, I wish I had your patience and eye for detail. Inspirational and outstanding.
I LIKED the stained snow! A lucky accident surely? Snow is always dirty at the side of a busy road. Brilliant!
Master's hand ... small scale, great effect!
Nice little pretext for experimenting making dioramas. I read sometime (once again) in an old FineScale Modeler magazine about using tea leaves for simulating leaf litter. Once again great job! Cheers! and Happy Holidays!!!
That's a gorgeous little dio. Your explanations are awesome and very inspiring. I'm going to try this!
Acrylic gesso makes a good primer sealer
Great video! I`ve had the exact same reaction from leaves with pva-glue, so I don`t think it has nothing to do with alcohol. Next time I`m going to varnish the leaves before applying snow effects.
Getting stug😂😂🙈
That ona got me😂
Happy Xmas to you and also to every modeler in the whole planet.
MERRY CHRISTMAS Modlers!!
Im in awe. I had no idea that was even possible to do all that for something so small. Inspirational it is. I am getting an italeri f7f tigercat. Merry christmas and thanks for the good content.
Dude!!! That’s amazing for 2 and a 1/2 days!!!! Merry Christmas!
ON THE LAST DAY OF CHRISTMASS UNCLE SHIFT GAVE TO ME...
ONE WINTER STUG VIDEO
TWO COATS OF GREY
THREE COATS OF GLUE
AND A WASH ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE.
To be fair, with tanks running over a dirt road the nearby snow's not going to stay white very long. Awesome build and Merry Christmas!
Awesome work. Fantastic paintwork on that Stug and superbly presented on your excellent diorama. I love these little Zvezda kits. I've made two on my channel in my lockdown modelling video. I now have a Sherman and Panzer IV on their way to me for another forthcoming diorama project. The detail on them is better than many 1/76 scale kits and the Zvezda kits are less than half the price! Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year.
merry christmas! and thank you for sharing all these amazing videos!
Your work is outta this world. I’m very inspired by your videos sir. Ty
Good thing I didn't start painting my tiger h model, now I can use your techniques to paint it better.💪
Thanks for all your effort this year it very much appreciated hope you have a great Christmas stay safe my friend.
Merry Christmas to my favourite Uncle! :) This was brilliant....this makes me want to try a snow diorama! Perhaps have a look into the leaf hole punches you can get....I got one earlier this year, it is brilliant for getting maple leaf and birch leaf shapes from REAL leaves
Very well done and thanks for the diorama idea for my recently completed 1/35 stug
Nice looking vignette Martin. Those Zsvsda 1/144 scale kits are very nice with so much detail As far as the snow "disaster" I think it was cool how the leaf scatter absorbed the snow mix. It gave the impression af a dirty layer that had melted then fresh snow on top. In reality, I'd say it was a happy accident. Have a great holiday season. Cheers!
Hope you had a great Christmas. Looking forward to seeing more of your work in 2021.
Your incredible technique makes an 'unsavable?' cheap little tank into a masterpiece. I just look at it and think; "I hope it was warm inside those tanks, all that cold, wet & muddy environment looks extremely unappealing". Well done and Happy Holidays.
Amazing! You’re a real inspiration. Merry Christmas and a happier New Year from a big fan in Canada.
Thanks for this nice little "Christmas-scene". Got the King Tiger "Porsche" from Hobby Boss.
I think this will keep me up for a couple of months because my work shifts a quite intense but i'll go for it.
Stay safe and happy new year...will see you then
i think the snow"disaster" made it turn out even more realistic. or as you like to say.... "Interesting" :D
Awesome video man! I'm very inspired to go further with my dioramas!
Liked the leaves in the cofee grinder tip. I have used herbs like oregano for similar effects
I used some cheap tea :D It works!
@@Broodlord
Great idea , the leaves in cheap tea bags are very finely hacked up , much smaller than loose tea 👍🏼
At 14:39 I know you're just playing around, but I learned a long time ago... When trying a new material or new technique, experiment in a small area first. Or even on another "practice base". I'm learning alot from your channel. I havent been here a month yet and already you've helped me. I have been watching The Terrain Tutor for years. He's very good and taught me how to wet-blend. But he doesnt really do much with models, so I'm looking forward to more of your videos. Thanx for doing what you do.
Merry Christmas, happy new year and have fun modelling.
Merry Christmas!
I'm not sure if you have or not, but the static grass applicator can be used in a much more accurate way if you add a straightened paper clip on the ground clip, therefore allowing you to concentrate the "ground" of the static applicator in a more pin-pointed method. Just a thought. And yes, I realize this video is over two years old. But I digress.
This is probably my favourite model by Night Shift.
for those who have cracking problems with air dry clay: knead it with pva glue. it will make it more elastic and will prevent the cracking!
Brilliant tip!
The dirty snow is incredibly realistic. Great video
Great Build Martin!
Merry Christmas to all...and a happy new year
even at 1/100th scale its still amazing, great work on this one, and merry Christmas :D
Amazing project. Really enjoy these videos.
MARTIN!!!! Why does everything you touch turn into absolute gold? Merry Christmas, my man!
Very nice ittle diorama.the trees look very convincing.
Don't eat the yellow snow. :) Nice job happy holiday.
Yay! Uncle Nightshift! Love relaxing with these videos after rl Nightshift 😎
Merry Christmas bud, hope you and your family had a safe and fun Christmas
Uncle Night Shift, one of the best modelling channels here !!! happy holidays !!
you should do more of these weekend project videos for us budget builders! :) love the content.
happy holidays and solstice NS great dioraman and those trees look a like poplar!
I am going to have to try this for my office desk. Love the vids keep up the great work
Perfect. I'd say that the snow is more realistic this way, then if it were clean. Because battlefield is mess, so I don't think snow there is clean.
Also I've had a similar idea, but somewhat smaller. I want to make a 1/100 scale diorama on a kitchen sponge, using Zvezda model as well. I might use this video for some help.
I am a dog, under a log, under a tree~~
U forgot the bombombombombombom
Merry Christmas uncle Nightshift. Well wishes to you and all who you care for. Happy New Years as well.
thankyou so relaxing to watch love from the uk
Great recovery on the snow!
It's a lot of fun for us seeing you step out of your comfort zone and try new things, disasters and all. What's next, an aircraft model? Maybe the infamous Soviet flying tank stuck in a tree diorama? With figures?
Merry Christmas Uncle, and a less sucky new year to you and yours.
As always my week is compleat! It would be wrong not to have a episode form this legend!! Have a gooden dude
This is awesome! More snow please.
Another great build and video.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you🎄☃️🎁
