    Kudos on the French accent when pronouncing Le Marais! That was on point 👏 And I agree that one of the joys of conversation is when there’s a sense of back and forth, of probing beneath the surface - and a genuine connection. Over the years, I’ve learned to be more efficient at prioritising who I want to converse with, and really not spend energy when I’m not feeling any engagement from the person I’m talking with. I’ve learned that I don’t have to be compatible with everybody. But when you get that genuine connection, that’s where magic happens, and it’s an invaluable feeling.

    It's sad that so many gay men don't want real connections...even if it's just friendships. They should make a gay friend app where romance and sex is not the goal, but If it happens to end up that way for people who meet on the app then so be it. I think that would fill a need for guys who don't want to just hookup or to just exchange messages.

    • @KevenTalks
      @KevenTalks  4 года назад +4

      True. Plus an app like that would be a good place for gays who are coupled but seeking friends...it always annoys me when I see guys on Tinder who seem great and then I scroll down and realize they're partnered, just seeking friends 😑

      There is a Parisian website made for it. It's called "diner entre hommes". It's actually pretty great. I think we can all attest that when it comes to dating, disappointment is inevitable instead of asking ourselves WHY ARE WE DISAPPOINTED we should we ask ourselves Why are we dating. I mean isn't it completely neurotic and delusional to want to have love with a complete stranger? ! So much so that finding something real and stable with that person becomes against the odds

    Hey I didn't know how to message you But I just saw this gay movie, from the late 80s and I had a lot of thoughts about it. Then I thought to myself I think Keven would have a really interesting outlook on this. I know you've done similar things in the past but I'd love to see more of that, you talking about and analyzing the gay content that is out there. You're very well spoken and you don't really sugar coat it so I think there isn't that honest perspective a lot of times on YT.
    The movie I saw was Maurice, it surprised me in a lot of ways. Anyways just a suggestion I love the longer videos!

    Found your channel today and I love your travel vids. If you make more, I will watch them. France does a better job of contact tracing than the States so I assume the chances of infection isn't as acute. Maybe that is why people were more lax with socializing?

      Just in general they managed the pandemic better. They're a more disciplined people - when the government said "stay home, you can't leave without an official notice saying where you're going (pharmacy, supermarket, etc)" - people did what they were told - just like Italy.

  • @Sean-dl8ym

    Question! I've heard many straight Parisians claim that once you kiss someone in Paris, you are considered "in a relationship," and that the French save kissing only for those who they really like. Did you find that this is the same for gay dating, or are French gays playing by different rules (as usual lol)

    • @KevenTalks
      @KevenTalks  2 года назад +1

      lol I have never heard of this - definitely not accurate as French people are big kissers - even with strangers (the cheek of course is different, but still - very intimate culture).

    Great channel.
    In a city as accessible as Paris I think it's a waist to settle yourself with the Gay scene to meet guys, that's probably why you didn't. The Marais is more a place of camaraderie than Seduction tbh.
    We still all love the idea of meeting someone on the streets while taking a walk than sitting desperately at bar with a decorative drink and a disappearing smile lol

    • @KevenTalks
      @KevenTalks  3 года назад +1

      Are you saying it's the wrong neighborhood to meet gay men organically? If so, what is the right neighborhood? It seems like my friends knew the hot spots at night in the Marais which I wouldn't have known unless I was with them.

    I’m surprised that bars are still allowed to be open in Paris while weho is dying here in LA😂 Paris is a city I wanna to go while I was a kid. Thanks for sharing this! There’s a majority of Asian using Jacked in LA too. So I just downloaded once and checked the vibe and then deleted lol

      It's so interesting regarding Jack'd.
      Anyway, the reason bars reopened in Paris is that Paris in general reopened, as did Europe - they handled the pandemic quite well and got to a point of managing it. Unfortunately in my last week or so, they decided to intensify measures again because it looks like rates are increasing again. What a mess!

    I honestly give up. Only been on one date my whole life. Had countless hookups though that didn’t lead anywhere. I think gays just aren’t meant to find love. Unless their white and attractive :(

    • @KevenTalks
      @KevenTalks  4 года назад +4

      What does race have to do with it? lol...
      But honestly I've wondered the same about gays and love.
      There's a scientific theory that gay men exist on a biological level to serve as a third parent - "the gay uncle" theory of an early human tribe. In other words, the "gay gene" pops through to avoid a tribe being dangerously overpopulated (so that not all members are meant to reproduce). Having extra leaders & parental figures in theory would help strengthen the community. Assuming this is an accurate theory, it would validate our lives as destined to be single and serve the community, as opposed to having our own love & family paths 🥴
