- Fencing Duels caught on camera in the in the beginning of the 20th century in the streets of Paris. I have colorized this footage and upscaled it using A.I. Could be better but I am still learning.

In most cases the object of the duel was to just draw the blood of your opponent. If you did that, the duel was concluded and your honor was upheld. That's why you see the duelists' "seconds" checking their charges after each lunge or thrust, to see if he'd been punctured. Rarely did an epee duel ever result in death. In the duel starting at 0.18, the man facing us with his hat and moustache is Leon Blum who in 1936 became Prime Minister in France with the "Front Populaire", giving French Workers the first opportunity to go on holiday and be paid at the same time, and work only 40 hours instead of 48 hours a week (basically getting a full week end).
Later in 1940 he was arrested by Petain as a Jewish man considered responsible (among other politicians) for the defeat of France in WWII. He survived imprisonment and became in 1945 a witness at Petain's trial.

@@serialkillerminds833 Okay, thanks for listening. Just I have my Roku and its hooked up to TV, and it goes from normal volume to SUPER LOUD then back to normal. I wish I knew an App that would keep that from happening. But, also, I let Video-Makers (like you) know too when they have these videos where the sound is like (NO KIDDING) a 10% of what it should be, so I have to turn my volume up to 100% to hear it. I keep my volume about 25% which works on almost all videos. So, I crank it up, listen, then have to jerk it back down; and, I just hope no Notifications or other beeps come in, then it'll reverberate throughout the house. I only get to watch stuff at night -- since I work late, so I'm watching when everyone is asleep, so I have to be careful. But, I just wanted to let you know where you'd be aware of it. Because I feel like your channel is gonna get to 100k subs in no time.

this is a stupid way to settle disputes. winning a duel won't prove that i'm right-- it only proves i'm better with a sword. a civilized gentleman settles disputes by filing a lawsuit.
