I know you listed the build parts previously with the BCM upper and Areo lower and MK16 handguard. But was wondering what barrel you run for this setup and what BGC and springs and buffer tube? Love your videos thanks!
So I just got my pvs 14 gen 3 white phosphorus unit. I've been doing transitions and such with my rifle. I'm running a red dot on a 1.93 mount with a g33 flip to center magnifier. My question is, how hard is it or ineffective to run a magnifier? I don't know if there is a rule of thumb here but as you can imagine the optics are all In a pretty tight array shooting with and without the magnifier. What's your thoughts?
As far as using the magnifier with a pvs14 I probably wouldn't recommend it simply due to the fact of it being a bit cumbersome when trying to line everything up, in addition to that when light passes through glass it loses some of its "strength" if that makes sense. So if you figure your red dot has two lenses, plus the mag having two, plus the two on the night vision itself the image may become somewhat dark or convoluted making it harder to use in that sense. Hence why most if not all "night vision magnified setups" are clip ons that sit in front of the optic. If you wanted a dedicated "mid range" setup I would recommend maybe mounting the 14 to the rifle and using it like that, or just keep it to the red dot for using it at night with a good laser as well. It's not impossible to do what you are asking about but you may run in to the issues I mentioned as well as smacking the magnifier into your pvs14 a ton. Hopefully that helps!
@@RedactedGear yeah it does actually. I tried dry fire reps last night with and without and I think it's a no go for most of what I want it for. It was defense darker and could be done but it's a one off and seemed more cumbersome to have it on. I appreciate the feedback.
@@RedactedGear I did have a suggestion if you're into it. I saw an article with SEALS and the ROK training together and they had their binos down coming out of the surf, civvie question, do nvgs have any use under water or what are your thoughts. They are obviously IP67 or so rated so that let's me know they are divable.
I'm sure they wouldn't have any problems, but going back to what I said about stacking glass in front of NV the image gets darker (due to light loss) now this is speculation since I have never actually been in a position to use NV underwater, but if I had to guess the water is blocking out a lot of light (hence it looking almost mirror like at night) so they may have had them down (and possibly on) just so that way they were immediately effective and not having to fold down and turn on. Just speculating but they probably had the units prepped just before emerging to reduce down time when surfacing and probably did not have them in front of their eyes while under the surface. BUT again I could be totally wrong so take that with a grain of salt. I will see if I can get in touch with someone I knew on the Teams and maybe get a more clear answer on that.
@Redacted Gear yeah the prep for action made total sense but it made me think, there is minimal light transmission and some clarity so I wasn't certain if there was any use in function or if it was old school dive masks and lights for underwater ops etc.
I think the best or "budget" tier sight I would use on something like this would be a holosun. In my opinion having owned a few I think they are reasonably priced and they do seem to improve over time as they keep releasing new products. All in all my opinion would be make your "bare minimum" be a holosun or save up some coin for Aimpoint, Triji, Eotech.
Yeah sits back there for right now just until I get the can, just trying to keep it clear from the warcomp absolutely caking it in carbon. Hence the one side thats already caked (moved it back after that 😂)
Just starting to get into the NVG game. Do you think paying the extra 1500 for the la5 uhp is worth it. Or is it better to save that money and just get la5
La5 in my opinion is a little too much "umph" in most cases. If it were me and I was doing it again I would just get a fp peq. I was just able to get the la5 at a very good price. Only real benefit for any normal person who is using this is the raised illuminator knobs so you can quickly adjust the illuminator and re-center it on the fly vs the normal peq having the flat head screws to re-adjust.
i’m liking the more consistent uploads
😎😎
HRF Tactical Magwell is an amazing product, have it on my night rifle as well 👍
Hrf is da wae 👀
Sweet rig

Upper is Aero, lower BCM, barrel bcg are Daniel Defense. Buffer is an H with a springco red 308 spring.
Nice rifle. What barrel lenght and gas system is it?
14.5 Mid gas on that one
Maybe you mentioned it and sorry if you did but, whats the barrel length? I'm guessing 11.5? Awesome setup!!!
RailScales front sight for PEQ.
If they existed 😂
Right on G! lookin forward to seein more
Appreciate it!!
You should do a review on the somogear laser since it's full power
I have been seeing them all over the facebook groups, I am strongly considering one to pickup to see how they preform.
The vertical grip…is that the regular Onyx Stubby Mlok or the Thicc one?
What rifle is that man it looks light weight.
Bcm lower, aero upper, mk16 g rail and its fairly light for what it is!
@RedactedGear really nice rifle man. I like your style!!
What kind of upper is that?

Who makes the rail
Geissele. He made a video about it a while ago.
How do you feel about using airsoft red dot sights? Can they be good enough quality for the range?

Is there a reason you don’t push out that light more to the front ?

@@RedactedGear i see ya that makes sense. I use that Vaseline hack to have a layer in-between that comes off easily
whats your front grip?
Onyx Arms
No can on a night rifle? Your tubes must get autogated like a mug.
Actually not that bad with the warcomp till the can comes in it works good
have you used the okw head yet?
Not yet thinking about getting one to mess with for a video!
