I grew up eating goo-losh.. it was always made for deer rifle season. Never knew anyone outside of my family to make it. I always called it “kitchen sink soup”. Because it seemed like my great-great aunt and my mother always put anything and everything in it!! Be safe! God Bless!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Praying for your family and everyone affected by the hurricane. It's done & gone by now. We got some of the rain from it last night in SE Michigan. The devastation I'm seeing online looks terrible. 🙏🙏🙏
from MN a prayer for all you guys. I hope you all or ya'll are doing well. As us swedes and norwegian's say " yah der ya know, we'll figure it out, der ya know" I know a lot of devastation happened down in your kneck of the woods. lot of house, crops damage and etc. praying for ya'll.
WOW…my mother RIP made us goolosh, I love goolosh. That was wayyyyyy back in the late 50’s.😊 we need daylight savings time year around, your thoughts !😊
Ruthie and I made it through the Hurricane with no damage and we live 30 miles from the Gulf. Never lost power either. Our friends in Ceder Key did not fair so well. Most people lost everything. They were telling us it will take years to rebuild and some people won't be able to and just packing up whats left and leaving. I am in Awe to the destruction in NC, SC, KY, and TENN. My heart goes out to them. Chimney Rock NC is just heartbreaking. I am glad Y'all faired out . enjoyed your video, Thank you for sharing
My wife who is blind loves your videos. She was raised on a diary. And I was raised on a cow hog Operation. You bring lots of memories from our childhood. You are a blessing to us thanks.
You should invest in those LED lights that has 3-4 panels you can aim each panel anywhere. They screw into a regular light socket and use less energy. They are great. I put them in my attic and can light up all the dark spots. Plus they last longer than a regular bulb.
Our daughter was dispatched to Ashville in advance of the storm by Duke Power to help repair the electrical grid. She works in Orlando. You pray for us and we send help for you. We are keeping track of the damage while hiding behind some islands from a large storm in the North Atlantic above the artic circle.
Hoping to hear how you and your family are doing. It was surely a powerful storm... reached all the way to Indiana with enough wind and rain to take the power out for quite a few homes.
We just canceled our October Blue Ridge Parkway vacation due to the flooding in the Asheville, Boone, pigeon Forge area. We’ve been waiting all year for this trip. Praying for everyone in the area. It looks really bad.
Hello Meredith and family like always love your videos. I am sending my prayers that your family was safe. and will stay safe through all the storms. You have angels looking down and keeping y’all safe we thank God.❤
Glad y’all are safe, and I could never understand y’all being nervous around LB as ornery as he is, I was waiting for him to bounce that bucket once on ya, and ya making that extra weight for the drag lol and the horse watching you leave like he was saying I was talking to you where ya going now. lol that look he has was hilarious.. farm life ya always find some fun in the ugly days that try us. Hugs to y’all and stay safe.. Tfs
Praying for all Effected from The Heavy Rains and Winds. We Live in Northeast Pennsylvania Next To NY Border we Have Had slow soaking Rains All week supposed to let up tomorrow Praise God no Flooding Here. Our Thoughts and Prayers For Those That Have Been Effected By The,Storm Blessings To Y'all and Please Be Safe ✌️
Hope you and your family are safe from the storms, it was bad here in Tennessee, had allot of damage in areas all around us. I am glad it did not directly affect you all. Just love every video you and your family bring to us. I look forward to every time it notifies me that you have posted a new video.
Live in Florida west coast bad flooding but faired well , my nephew lives in Rocky Mount NC got hit by tornado , there were ok just very damaging system and effected allot of lives.
U tube Lawrence a video of how to open the box where you put in the light bulb and run another box into the other side. I have cut myself twice with grinders. 😮 be safe.
If you want to add a couple lights on the side of the barn just get you a roll of Romex wire 12/2 and a couple light boxes and single bulb fixtures like you have up there and just run a wire from one of those lights to the side where you need light and in between to the other light. It's super simple just connect to the wire up there where you replaced the bulb. There should be a black white and ground wire and you just match them together. 😎👍👍 See y'all next time 👋 From Mississippi
Good evening Merdie and Family Hope Y’all don’t get to much damage from Helene and your all safe including your animals 🙏🙏🙏 My brother said they had lots of trees down and took out his flag pole. My property is about 30 miles west of him so I’m sure I’ll have a mess to clean up just praying the house and 2 shops are ok 🙏🙏🙏 Lawrence had me laughing when you were changing out the light bulb but I knew he was kidding because he loves you ❤ Y’all take care Always 🤠❤️😘 Love Y’all
I live in Northeast Florida, and I lost power and there was a lot of debris in the yard. I have large oaks all over my property and Thank God none fell on my trailer. However, please pray for those who lost everything including their lives. My brothers live in Franklin, NC and they got hit hard. No electricity, landline phones, no internet, gas stations are closed and ATM's are not working. The saddest part is my brother's neighbor's lot flooded right next to my brother's business. They were able to send me a text but right next to my brother's business they found a man floating in his truck that was deceased. My brother's business didn't get flooded because it sits higher up next to the flooded lot. Please keep all of those in your prayers! I haven't heard the count yet but last time I heard that at least 40 people lost their lives! God Bless Them All!
I was sure worried about you as I saw many a tornado head that way. I hope all is well on your farm. My area missed most of it. We remained between the bans but just 30 minutes up the road toward the mountains and as you said earlier in your vlog, they were hit horrifically. i can't believe the damage. Love you my NC sister and I hope your next report is not bad and that your farm is safe. I prayed for you.
Meredith we got 6.5 inches in Durham..Boone and Foscoe, banner Elk are cut off Chimeny rock for all purposes is GONE.. We were wondering about THE DAN... no way it can stay in its banks.. Praying for everyone
Just love your videos Meredith and your stories and day to day operations on the farm. I know it is a small farm but you and family seem to be keeping it all together and working Ok. I live in Toronto Canada and in my much younger years visited the south many times and I love the way you talk keep your great videos coming when you get time.
Here's a old farmer saying you haven't heard about. I can sleep thru a storm. Means everything is where it should be tools up tractors and equipment is out of the weather. Hence the saying i can sleep thru the storm.
Great video and even we here in southeast Missouri got a little bit of wind and about 4 inches of rain from the hurricane, so it was a big one. I’m sorry, but that was funny when your husband got tickled about the lightbulb!
Be safe and well Bernard's. God Bless and watch over Ya'll. Well be getting wet again tomorrow until Wednesday here they say at least until they change their minds. Have a great evening!!
Come on don't get in any powered bucket for any reason. I have seen lines blow and they go down faster than you can blink an eye. Be safe hate to hear about you getting hurt. You're such a beautiful and caring person. Have a great day.
Of course this video was put out before the following storm took out your power and internet. I have prayed and prayed for the people that are going to be affected by all this. Helene is no doubt a terrifying and dangerous storm. I also realize that people had not realized the intensity and were not prepared. 🙏
Dawn dish detergent and some water in that sprayer will almost kill those bees on contact Merideth.. 1/4 of a bottle to a 2 gallon sprayer works well on bees and ants .. Give a shot ..
Im very glad you and your family is ok and doing good..That was a very strong hurricane 🌀 that did a lot of damage and lives were lost too..A lot of people in florida and other states too didn't have home owners insurance and in Florida the insurance is double the cost over there..VIBRIO VULNIFICUS is a flesh eating bacteria and the world news told people to stay out of the water but you know how that goes..God bless you all are safe..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I hope you all are OK and dry. I was wondering about the Dan river being so close as the runoff goes through. Actually the storm came through fast but extremely powerful. I have never eperienced 12 inches of rain in 12 hours. We get rained upon quite a bit here in Oregon but hardly ever to where it floods.
I live in south central Georgia and man did we get slammed the town is a disaster area 😢. I thank the good lord that I only lost one tree and bent skirting on my house. You see it on TV but it sure is a whole different story when you live it.

He should wear a safety glasses gloves and earplugs😮
Meredith, changing a light bulb out of a tractor bucket is a good way to get seriously injured or killed, not a smart thing to do.
