- Pandinus imperator, the Emperor Scorpion rehouse and care
The Emperor scorpion once a very common scorpion in the pet trade it is now a rare and sought after scorpion in the hobby, we now have three of them and hopefully they will be the beginning of a new and exciting breeding project for the Beastie Room .

3 Scorpions with 3 personalities, I didn't expect that. Well done camera lady, you deserve a pay rise.
Funny how they were a bit like the 3 bears. The first one was very chill, the second one was active, and the third one was a bit hyper.
Great video as usual!
I’m 41 today and I remember seeing these in pet stores since I was about 7. I’ve always wanted one as a pet.
I lived in Phoenix for about 1 year. Let me tell you, I didn't have scorpions in my house but I had friends that did. I ALWAYS walked with a blacklight if I had to get up in the middle of the night. We had to shake our clothes out if left on the floor. I checked the bed before climbing in. NEVER walked barefoot at night outside. We kept our cricket population at bay as well through extermination. I can assure you, if I saw ANY scorpion, I'd be running in the opposite direction. lol!! Now back in MA, no worries. :)
I lived up north in kingman.. But I just got chickens and they cleaned out the scorpions, siders, stinging ants and such.. Let them have a sort of free range around and under the house.. they even got the snakes that would come.. If you have never seen a bunch of chickens taking on a snake you should see if you could find it on the YT it is amazing to watch.. Plus I had free eggs and some fresh chicken once and awhile.. But I to have moved further up north to Washington state..
Thats awesome my friend 👍
I've never seen scorpions mating before, looking forward to what you do with these beautiful animals 👍
Fingers crossed 🤞
Scorpions are under rated animals, really cool to watch and fairly simple to care for.
Very interesting Dave, Ive never had scorpions. As a youngster my mother absolutely insisted that I leave them alone - I could have snakes, turtles, lizards, spiders, praying mantis, stick insects, roly polys and anything else but she would dust my britches if she saw me fooling with a scorpion. I guess she just had a thing about them.
Looking forward to watching them grow
I remember seeing these all the time in the pet stores back in the 80s and 90s. Im surprised they have started to disappear. Glad you got some back in and will try to breed them. Good job Dave!
The absolute best scorpion criminally underrated and not taken seriously.
It will be a crime if we lose them from the hobby. They need a lot more serious attention from dedicated keepers.
Thats the plan 👍👍👍👍
Cool! Never I knew it they eated termites!
Hello Dave and Camera Lady. I hope y’all are having a good week. I have never been to keen on scorpions but, as with everything else, you have made them fascinating. They are kind of purple. I like purple.😀 It will be super fun to see the babies. Have a lovely rest of your week and we will see you this weekend. Take care and stay safe.🕷🕸🪳🦂🐝
So much stuf I didn't know about scorpions, thanks Dave! Thats why I call you the David Attenborough of the arachnid world.
Your too kind ❤️
I had emperor scorpions years ago, before the internet. The shop I bought them gave me the wrong information, and they died. I'm so glad of the information about now, you can verify if what you're doing is correct for the animal. It's why what I've got now, is doing so well.
I do look forward to seeing what you can do with these... I love their individual personalities.
Well you’ve done it again Dave! Never thought I’d be into watching scorpions but here I am. 😆 👍🏼 Great video once again!
Thank you 🙏
Dave, your videos always bring a smile to my face. Thanks for everything you do.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Omg dream scorpion absolute stunning Dave
Hi Scott! How ya doing? Beautiful scorpions, these.
Yes crazy to think they were so common when I was a kid 👍
Three chunky boys. I love the Emperor. Even if they are "weak" on the venom, their physical strength more than compensate.
lil' Fatties!!!!!!! Great video, and I'd like to see more scorpions. They're awesome!!
This is a great learning lesson on these black scorpions .. I’ve seen a few of these or very similar ones here in my garden in Cambodia .. I feel not so scared of them now .. thanks so much for all the info
They are very snappy little things . I bet the smallest one is a girl, because she was the best behaved . I saw them in Longleat just last year .They were in the nocturnal exhibit about 4 all under a UV light to make them glow . With scorpions when it comes to stings the bigger the scorpions the better .. As always wonderful work camera lady and see you next time 🥰🥰🥰
It's amazing how Scorpions and Spiders have their own unique personalities.
the second one was determined to get out of the enclosure 😆
great video guys 👍😊
Thank you 😁
Really interesting video from the beastie room 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I usually don't gush over arachnid babies/ slings but these are adorable. Thanks Dave.
Gosh those are so lovely! They are each completely different characters. 🌻 fun
I thought that I wouldn't like them but your information about them and seeing them changed my mind.
Oooooo
❤️❤️❤️
I have a Vietnamese forest scorpion that’s around the same size with a huge attitude to match, she’s lightning quick and her nickname is “Tap Tap” for obvious reasons 😂 I’m so glad I got her as something different to my tarantulas who are all adult females of various species but Damn all these girls in the man cave certainly has its moments 😂, thanks for the video and now I’ve learnt that mine is really healthy and looked after so cheers Dave 👍
Another fun project to look forward to! I'm rather excited!
Interesting video and facts about the Emperor Scorpion 🦂! Thank you Dave and Sweet Camera Lady for yet a another great video! 👍 Have a wonderful day! Susanne and Trollet.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@daveslittlebeasties 🖐❤️👍
Three great specimens cant wait to get the follow ups on these beauties ....
You kept a scorpion as you was a kid? Wow...I wish my parents would have been that cool. As I bought my first tarantula (I was 14 or 15) I had to sneak in und hide the spider (a very brownish Grammostola rosea, at that time called G. spatulata) under my bed. About 3 weeks later my mom found it, because of a cirping cricket. Thanks god, I survived that day. And the spider went back to the pet store. There my mom found out, that I faked her sign, to get the spider.
Really not the luckiest day in my life...
😳😳😳😂
Wow scorpions didn’t think that was on the cards. Great video as always thanks Dave and Kelly
As always Dave... SPECTACULAR!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
❤️❤️thank you
Dave, I do love you and how you describe things ❤️
Thank you 🙏 ❤️❤️❤️
Another really great video the boy and I loved it. Hopefully we can pick one up at the next show. They look fun.
They're beautiful, Dave. Fascinating creatures.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing your scorpions. They are very interesting and faster than I thought they would be.
Dave's lil beasties ,Dave your a beast love your videos
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Back in the mid ‘90s, I worked at a pet wholesaler. We had Emperors and Rosehairs. Each one’s attitude was the reason I keep Ts. :)
That is awesome!
They are pretty cool. I was under the impression that their sting is deadly to humans. Guess I was wrong. Glad you are happy with your new beasties.
These are reasonabley harmless
Totally enjoyable to watch great way to finish my day, very interesting one to watch the progress.
amazing video with information that you have given for these scorpions PROFF. first class as we expect from the beastie room. BRILLIANT. another fine project to add to the vastness off projects that you have ongoing. great work camera lady many thanks. take care guys many thanks
So nice of you my friend ❤️👍
I'll look forward to seeing your progress with them Dave and Camera Lady atb!
Thank you 🙏
Awesome video Dave and Camera Lady. I like how you show a variety of animals. Thank You!
Thank you 🙏
Imperator was also my first ever critter. I got her at pet shop (for peanuts) and my parents were absolutely furious and almost flushed her to toilet. Luckily after few shed tears and tantrum they let me have her at our house attic. Eventually as I grew older I managed to "educate" them (and after they find out that the "evil venomous killer" barely moved in years") about invertebrates and the whole attic slowly turned into zoo.
Fun addition: every morning for MONTHS, I had to check that the Scorpion is locked in his terrarium before I left for school
Absolutely brilliant, Daave, and what,, a gorgeous 🦂 scorpion Anyway Dave another brilliant job by yourself and camera 📷 lady.
Thanks mate 😊👍
You got them from a good seller. Well fed and healthy. Good luck with the breeding. Such a wealth of knowledge Dave is.
Thank you 🙏
18:32 what a beautiful beast
Baby bugs are so cute.
Great video! and amazing camera work . Thank you guys
Another fascinating video Dave. i remember when these were cheap as chips too! I too was stunned, when, a few months ago, I found how much they cost! think i saw one for sale at about £149! Always wanted one but never got around to it. So if, in the future, your breeding project works, you'll certainly have a customer in me! Beautiful species! Justin
Yes they are very exspencive now
Very interesting David thank you very much now I know a bit more about scorpions.
Great video again Dave, 3 stunners to add to the collection 👍🏻
Looking forward to it trying to breed them 👍
Those are some thicc speciemens. Scorpions are my favorite animal, nothing quite like them. Hope to see more of these three, and maybe other species as well.
another great video with some very fun beastie's! Thanks Dave from Scott in Bountiful, Utah.
Cheers matey 👍
I’ll watch in a bit excited to see this I’m thinking about getting a black emperor there really cool used to look after them in a pet shop I worked in they
Got HUGE 🥰
STUNNING Scorpions I had a couple years ago myself like you said they were really cheap but now rather pricey hope you get a good breeding program from them
very cool.... I hope your breeding project goes well!
Well done.
Thank you 🙏
@@daveslittlebeasties you are welcome.
these are so cool.. growing up glowing green scorpions would chase us around outside at night haha super cool but scary as a kid i always thought they just glowed at night when i was younger but it was the moonlight that made them look blue/ green i learned.. coolest thing to me i have yet to own and scorpions but maybe i’ll get one someday
Morning Dave always wanted an Emperor scorpion but the Mrs won't let me have one they are amazing creatures never held one though but would love to

Thank you! 😊
Love everybody, good finish. Love your videos keep up the hard work.
Glad you like them!
Scorpions give me the Creeps, but your video was interesting. Probably not gonna get any though :/ SCARY!!!
Another brilliant video, Dave. I had an emperor scorpion for 6 years and I was devastated when he passed away. I’d love to get another one, hopefully in the future.
Man these are sooo cute as babies! I've actually never seen them except as adults.
Awesome video 📹 👏 thank you Mister and Mrs Dave ❤️
Really looking forward to watching there journey! Another great video 👌🏻
Us too!
Hi Dave ✌️
Thank you for that video 🙏‼️
We have 3 also and taking care of them as a communal . They do perfectly fine in that.
We have 2 girls and 1 boy , and we hope that they breed some.
The 3 are from us are almost burrowed all the time.
Take care and stay save
Marlen and Jean🙂✌️
Good luck 🤞
@@daveslittlebeasties same to you💪👍‼️
great video
I've 3 Asian forests and they about the size of the smallest, they certainly are not fast growers, this video was a really good one for me, if you have any Asian forests, I'd love to see a video :)
love these guys though, but so hard to get hold off and a good price.
My first pet ever was also a scorpion. LoL, how funny, I’ve never thought about it. What an interesting project Dave, best of luck. I love watching your videos. I always learn a lot. Thanks!
Thanks 👍
Beautiful scorpions I would love one thanks for the video
Like these little critters. Very attractive.
I have two Asian Forest Scorpians. I find them intriguing! I may have to get a couple of these as well.
Sweet. The scorpions I encountered in the "wild" (the shower of our friend's cabin on Austin Creek, north of SF) lent a _frisson_ of fear to my childhood. But these Californian guys were also not really dangerous, no worse than a bee sting, and not at all agressive.
Cheers from (so far) scorpion free Vienna, Scott
Love scorpions.
Love the videos Dave a remember I paid £7:50 for mine way back. 👍
I’ve wanted one of this since I was a boy. I was lucky enough to own one for several months. Unfortunately I could not get it to acclimate and it never once ate in my possession. Maybe if I had this video I could have figured out a way to get it going. Thanks for the great video, as always Dave!
Here in Colorado, emperor scorpions and cactus were THE MAIN REASON you had to wear cowboy boots while walking in the mountains, desert, and my grandpa's ranch. This was about 30 years ago. Even in Colorado, you could find them everywhere! 💙
These are a forest scorpion im sure the scorpions you refer to are a little more venomous 👍
Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕hope you’re both doing well today.
I’m never, never, ever, going to be bored with your Channel and/or your content! You work your socks off with the many subjects and species that you cover within your hobby. It’s not that easy to keep things fresh, without too much repetition.
I’m telling you with no word of a lie, that this is the absolute first time I’ve watched a video about Scorpions 🦂 AND… I’m glad I have. They’re 3 wee beauties off beasties aren’t they? And all although visually similar, polar opposite’s in nature. Especially that third one with the “I’ve got a stinger and I’m not afraid to use it” attitude 😆
Tell me this Dave…? Are Scorpion’s either right clawed or left clawed? The reason I’m asking is, well, lobsters can have their big crusher on either side, the same way We are left or right handed. I’ve picked this up watching people that forage for seafood’s too 😂
Thanks so much again, and I can’t wait to see your next video.
Take care both 💙💕😘xxx
Thats an interesting question Joanne I dont honestly know ?
@@daveslittlebeasties hmm 🤔 It’s one to mull over for ya… trouble is I have too much time on my hands. 😂 😂 xx
In Arizona, black lighting wild scorpions is common.
Nice little beasties! Even the most feisty one wasn’t being aggressive. I’ve always liked these, never owned one, looking forward to seeing how they go. Hope you have opposite sexes!
Fingers crossed 🤞
I had one of these and a Flatrock over my first couple of years of Invert keeping. Once established, they were extremely secretive, I hardly saw them at all. I ended up donating both to an Insectarium in our country. I may or may not re-kindle that curiosity in a few years time. Best of luck with these, given they are so difficult and expensive to acquire nowadays, every successful captive breeding of these counts. Do you plan on embarking upon a similar quest with the classic Chilean Rose ?
Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)
No I sold all my Brachypelma adults including the Chilean roses , the brackys just dont excite me im afraid and space is limited 😂👍
These are so cool! I hope you succeed in breeding them 😊
I have had one for about two and a half years now and it is the meanest thing I’ve ever dealt with! My Asian forest scorpion was so chill, I even handled it, but not my emperor, she didn’t hesitate to let me she’s not about that life! 🤣 I just got one on a constant bad day!
😂😂😂
😂 Ha! That was a fun video, Beastie Team. All three critters showin' three different personalities. But ringmaster Dave knew how to muck around with each. Great fun! 🇺🇸👍😃👌🇺🇸
😂😂❤️❤️👍
You are so good at this, Dave. 😬
@@XRP747E ❤❤❤❤
Lovely little scorpions dave mate these and the G rosea were the 1st Inverts I ever owned my local reptile shop used to sell adult emperor scorpions for £12 each and adult female G rosea's for £14.99 how the prices have shot up now a days and there really fun to keep hopefully you manage to breed them mate good luck😊 👍
Fingers crossed 🤞
Very exciting as usual. I’d rather watch this then the discovery channel. So I would say your doing a splendid job 😊 If I ever visit the UK 🇬🇧 which I’m assuming you live, I’ll be begging to come over 🤣
That would be awesome 😎
That would be awesome 😎
Thanks Dave. Another super cool video to educate me. I’m just getting over Covid (despite being triple vaxxed) so I’m slowly catching up on all the videos I missed in the last few weeks. Luckily, I had a very mild case that was more like a head cold and nothing really serious. Hope you and Mrs. camera lady are doing well 👍🏻😊
Keep safe my friend ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How did I miss your channel? I've been watching exotic pet channels for years and just last week found yours. U Sir, have an awesome collection. Your videos are vey informative and fun to watch.
Thank you so much and welcome to our channel ❤️👍
My first spider was a chile rose, about 30 years ago. Would never have known they aren't that common any more.
My first tank pet as well! A month after I purchased her, I woke up to find a dozen babies on her back. Sadly, she ate them all even though she was well fed.
I always modify those boxes. I seal up those air holes on the lid, and drill small holes towards the top of the container itself. This cross ventilation along the sides keeps the humidity in better. I put some damp cocofiber in each (about an inch), and the one with the top ventilation (as it comes) was bone dry in 6 days, the one with the side ventilation didn't fully dry out until day 11 or 12. So, it really makes a difference. This may not be a big deal for everyone, because they just add water every few days or use moss to keep moisture in, but my job has me going away for a week or two at a time. So, it's important to me to make sure everything has ideal conditions while I'm gone.
Great advice my friend
Very interesting.
lovely little dudes.
Hey Dave!
Beautiful scorpions, one of my favourite scorpion species actually! These guys are really cool, great video Dave! I love how they all had their different attitudes as well, feisty little guys. Whenever you mention UK money, i can`t help but wonder what that is in Canadian Dollars ($). So, most of the time i just end up looking it up and let google do the math for me LOL!! I`m looking forward to updates on these guys in the future. I would like to see more scorpion videos in the future Dave, also maybe include them in future feeding videos?
Also, do you still have the tailless whip scorpions, rememeber the ones that had babies? Do leave a repy answering this question Dave and i`ll see you on Monday! Great job my Camera Lady again!
I sold the baby whips and a friend has the female now 👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Thanks for the info Dave!
Thank you for you beautiful Beasties they are all in impeccable condition and are a Credit to you and all the hard-work and dedication and love you put into them
Wow, thank you❤️
