Eek, but I know you love em Dave and T. You must be tickled pink, you look like a child in a lolly store, they are fascinating to watch and we could see the green shade too. 😂💝🕷🦂
We need a history of the Beaties Room Dave! The early videos when the room wasn't floor to ceiling beasties up to now when it's filled with cool critters. Love you guys!
That made a pleasant change - nice to hear the interaction with Camera Lady as well, asking some great questions. 👍 I’ve only a couple of tiny issues with scorpions: The sting, the claws, they don’t understand English - but they *do* look amazing under UV light, and there’s science behind that, it’s not just a quirky party trick. Could never own one though, but great footage and congrats on your new beasties - good luck with pairing; now *that* will be a fascinating video to watch. 👍❤️💙😉
Not my favorite but very impressive beasts . Really nice to have camera lady's input and asking some questions that we like to hear .hopefully she will do more of the chat sometime . thank you
I'm a Brit living in the CA desert, i started watching your channel to help with my fear of spiders. Yesterday, i was able to relocate a Tarantula in my front yard to a safer location. Helped immensely by watching you gently work with your beasties. Thank you!
Dave! I swear you’ve been keeping an eye on my collection because the last several videos have all been recent additions 😂 yet again another wonderful video. Thank you, Dave!
Had some both for myself and the shop I used to work in before I believe they became illegal to import. I will add they appear to drink a lot, so the water bowl is important. The sting isn't even that bad. They would rather push away with the tail when irritated than sting. You really have to work at it and get caught by accident for a sting. First time I got a very small blister like mark and a barely noticeable electric sensation up my arm. Nothing since (could have been dry stings, those). Only reason I was stung at all was I couldn't stop handling them and showing them off. And if you play with fire long enough you will get burned eventually as the saying goes.
I got a gravid Asian forest scorpion (with a little haggling) when the shop I ordered a spider from contacted me asked if I could cancel or take an equivalent cost alternative. Really cool experience seeing the mom carry them around. I found scorpions way easier and less worrying than tarantulas. No bolts, not teleporting, not climbing up the side, and more likely to pinch than poke haha. She always walked around like a tank too. Ended up really enjoying caring for it, but left it in China with a friend who really liked seeing it whenever he came over.
dave, I love this channel, you and your wife do such a good job filming these animals and giving knowledge. Very much appreciated! sidenote: Mrs. Beastie, you get some great shots.
I'll be looking forward to seeing more of the scorpions and how the breeding program goes. Thanks for mixing it up a little. So for them I'll be calm be gentle and love your beasties.
I like how smart scorpions are. Absolute tanks. I remember Emperor scorpions being really common and cheap back in the day too. It's shocking to hear they've gone so rare, and at the same time, good to know you've started a breeding program. Keep up the good work! I do prefer how elegant tarantulas are though.
I used to volunteer at a Butterfly Pavilion. They had several large tanks with Emperor Scorpions. I was amazed at how very social they were with one another. They had 4 adults in each tank and they seemed to really like being with one another. They also seemed very gentle when being handled. Not to mention how beautiful they were.
Very cool. I enjoyed them running up onto ur arm. It reminded me of several movies where the scorpion slips into the bed of the sleeping victim. Like they are so deadly! 😮
I had an emperor scorpion some years back. I never used to pick it up like that i always scooped it up from behind. Mine used to just lay itself totally flat on my hand with the tail laid out up my wrist. I think it enjoyed soaking up the body heat.
Aw brilliant again 👏 class vídeo Dave ma pal Well in 📷 lady🤷🏼♀️ with the questions - you keep him right hen 😁👏 .... My heart was gon when the tail grabs were happening 😳😬
Thanks, Dave! Happy New Year 2024, despite what's happening all around us, let's be determined to make 2024 the best year so far! Dave, did that missing claw ever grow back?
@@daveslittlebeasties Yes, you did mention that it will probably not but that she's okay and eating well, starting to attempt to catch her own live bait. But since it was a year ago I knew I could get an update in-case it did grow back, I was curious. She obviously lost it with some difficulties in an early shedding.
Another informative and captivating video from the Beastie Room... I don't know how I feel about scorpions, we have lots of very small and almost translucent ones here in Coastal Australia though I'm told they have an impressive sting on them, they have extremely small pincers so I guess venom is nessesary, we get so many coming into the house that we have shag pile carpet mats in front of the doors as they get stuck in it and can't get out until I safely collect them up and take them back down to the scrub at the foreshore... Anyway, just thought I'd share my experience with Scorpions with 'YALL'. Thanks Mrs Dave's Camera Lady, and as always... Mr Dave and his little beasties.👍😃👍
Thank you for this beautiful video I enjoy all the videos you make how you manage and handle every single one with that Beastie touch Your a Courteous and honest and brave person who takes pride in everything you do keep doing what your doing
Beautiful🥰🥰🥰 Here in Italy it is difficult to find them lately, if they are found they cost 250.00 euros each, until 10 years ago they were at 30.00 euros. Congratulations😉
That white stuff in with the scorpion is called Perlite, I'm almost positive. I use it when I'm growing mushrooms. It also retains moisture quite beautifully and is great to lock it in. I hope your ear gets better, Dave! I hate earaches!
Dave I'm amazed that you not only keep tarantulas but scorpions as well. Last Saturday I bought a Congo emperor scorpion. Th only difference is that the regular emperor and Congo is the tailson. One have a black tailson and the other have a red tailson. I hope you do a breeding video on them. Mine is a male but it's still small. I named my Congo emperor Draco because I love dragons.
Now I like those creatures. I could look after one of those. By the way, everything is shockingly expensive today. I used to fetch my old Mum a large piece of beef and get change from a ten bob note. A bag of crisps cost that now.
I remember back 2007 only paid £12 each emperor scorpions each. I had two makes and two females had them 4 foot long terrarium all kept lot hiding spaces both females pregnant and give birth few days apart . Great experience. Bought two Pandinus viatoris Cave scorpions another great African species I kept before hope breed them. Got some sake on mantis den 👍
Watch out with that spider shop sub I got their arid mix and burrowing mix for my t's and every viv I used them in grew mushrooms of the magic variety 😳 I just pulled the mushrooms but still not ideal in a sling viv should be fine with bark flakes but still watch out just incase.
