    Hey Scott! I got a adult striped tail scorpion about 5-6 days ago and he hasn’t eaten at all yet… He’s been active and digging in his sand and been occasionally scurrying around during the day and night. He seems to be doing fine but he just gets scared of what ever I feed him (roaches, meal worms) I think I’ve tried almost every tactic of feeding them dead or alive feeders but I’m generally getting concerned. If you have any tips about him please get back to me and keep up the great work!

      Over fill the water dish on a evening so it gets a humidity spike over night, also try squashing the head of a meal so it wiggles but can’t burrow down , or try feeding in the dark or leave some smaller red runners in over night see if it takes them at night time

    • @ScottsInverts

      You can house them together , but you will allways have that risk of one killing the other one but jn most cases it works out well, the stone is for reproduction, the males drops a.sperm packet on the it then with his claws pulls the female over it she will then pick it up

    Great vid:) Unrelated but ... (an soz for the length of this but need kid/t advice) i just had a tarantula related WTF moment. I never thought I'd be trying to talk someone out of getting a tarantula but I just did. If you think I'm wrong please feel free to say.
    I get on well with my neighbour so we've let her son come in an hold one of my sakes an help feed stuff a few times.
    He absolutely loves my tarantulas. Hes been begging for his own for over a year an his dad just fucked off so his mum said shes finally letting him get one, she said it's too stay in his room an shes not helping or having anything to do with it. His favourite colours orange so ya can probably guess what hes getting, a fucken OBT.
    I totally get shes just trying to make him happy n stop him acting up so much but I think it's a really bad idea, even if he says he wont ano he'll try an handle it at cause hes always begging to hold mine an got quite bratty a few times when I've said no, even when I've explained all the reasons why I say no. I tried to explain to her why I think an obt is a bad idea but she said i was just worrying too much. She admits she knows nothing about t's but I dont think she believed me when said it wont be like a bee sting if he gets bit an that I could recommend some new worlds that would be a better choice but she said its the one he really wants so sticking with it. Shes letting him get an adult aswell:/
    I obviously dont wanna put her off tarantulas all together but kinda wanna show her some vids to put her off old worlds for him but she said no an think she got a lil annoyed when I said again that it's a bad idea so no sure what to do. Ano I'm just second guessing my self cause we get on well enough an always say hi when we pass each other but were just friendly neighbours not actually friends so I ovb dont wanna over step causes hes no my kid n ano it's not really any of my business but I'm just worried for him cause I love tarantulas an even wanna get an OBT at somepoint but I dont see this going well for him, hes only 9 maybe 10 now and hyper af mosta the time. Hes never even rehoused a t before.
    You and tara are parents, do yous think itd be crossing the line if I make a wee play list on this about old worlds and obts an ask her to watch them cause I'm a bit worried?
    I don't wanna come across like I'm telling her what to do with her own kid but I just really dont think it's a good idea, hes gonna get bit an the t's probably gonna end up getting squished.
    If ya think I'm overreacting tho ya can say an I'll listen.
    Thanks

    • @ScottsInverts
      @ScottsInverts  2 года назад +1

      I don’t think your over reacting , I think if she’s willing listen then education needs to begin, hopfully she will take a better look at them before actually getting one ☝️ . Apart from that and expressing concerns at local pet shop there is not much else you can do
