I love that people constantly dismiss a history degree. They don’t realize that most historians analyze our past so that we can build a better future. No wonder humanity keeps making the same mistakes….
I just know when I was in college there were two degrees that took 7 years. The first was a PhD, solid seven years of blood, sweat, and tears. The other was a bachelor’s in journalism. As long as you didn’t flunk out entirely and were able to get your parents to pay for more school, or you took out more student loans, the journalism school would always take you.
Was hoping after all that he would end by saying med school or civil engineering or something objectively useful to show he was just taking the piss the whole time. Guess he was serious.
the dude isn't wrong, it's very niché degrees that people aren't exactly asking for if you have them or not except archeology and history but those two aren't exactly the biggest of fields where there will be people recruiting for it.
Travel and tourism being useless ? Tourism is a massive sector in multiple countries and it is the biggest in mine. History and archaeology In this list is also a disgrace

Film, Dance, Photography, and Art are all categories under the Liberal Arts. Reasons to go to college, you may actually learn wtf you are talking about 😉

Archeology is useless if you want to be an archeologist
But there aren't many jobs in archeology and they're almost all poorly paid.
