Chins are at least twice as expensive at a pet shop. I got 2 babies at a breeder. The grey ones were 60$, they also sold cheap cages. What's really expensive is the food.

Im getthing a chinchilla named skaven. Shes a baby chinchilla ( about 5 monts old at this point ) and i have Seen her a couple Times and she is very and i mean VERY cuddely, she does not want to leave and once on me or in m'y hands, she refuses to get down. I have to put her back in her cage and angle ma hands a lot so she is forced to jump off. So its possible but i guess shes an exeption

Hello I know it’s a bit late to comment but I’m so grateful for you making this video I recently got a chinchilla as a gift I didn’t know much about chinchillas and I was feeling like a bad owner because I didn’t know much. Im just a bit curious because my chinchilla is a single chinchilla and isn’t in a group is that ok or is it really bad for him sorry if I seem rude I’m just curious :D.
Your videos help me so much. I might be getting a chinchilla in about 20 some days. I have been doing research for about 4-5 months. Most of my research has come from you so you have helped so much. Anyway I have a question, what if you can’t afford 2 chinchillas? Also what breeder do you prefer? How much did Merlin cost?
Aka Magic Merlin was from petsmart and he cost around $165. My favorite breeder is called Chilla Chin Ranch (I think that’s what it’s called, I might have said it wrong😆). It’s very important for Chinchillas to live with another partner and next week’s video is going to be on that subject. As for affording two, I don’t really know what I can say to that because it’s just some of the cost. You can, of course, look for a chinchilla that specifically needs to live alone. 😊

Aka Magic It doesn’t compare to the company of an actual chinchilla. A human, unfortunately, can’t really compensate for the presence of another chinchilla

this really are helpfull i dont have a chinchilla but im planing because is the easyest pet to own and not that expensive and its cute too so im not planing to make more money because in my country 1 dollars is 50 pesos or cens why i need 3000+ to buy chinchila but its not expensive and not that hard and im allergic to cats and dogs and i know that ther is a dog and cats that hypoallergenic but its all expensive but the chichilas are not expensive❤

Jodi Davis Baby Chinchillas can get an unlimited supply of hay and pellets since they are growing and developing, but do limit the treats, lol! Also, thank you, you just made my day brighten!😊♥️

What about when they pee?? How do you clean it and where do they pee? So they just go on the flees or do they have a little area??
Eva Girard The fleece is the bedding and there’s an absorbent layer beneath the fleece where the moisture can be wicked away in. Chinchillas usually choose one spot they like to pee the most around 😌
Whenever I let my chinchilla run around, she will find a corner and then just...... chew on the wall. I want to make sure this isn’t bad for her, can you help?

Rabbits aren’t rodents and they don’t like to be held or cuddled. But overall this video was really good.
I want to get my chinchilla strong plastic wheel but I'm afraid she still might chew it should I get her one or not
tenleyalyssa Plastic wheels are often not big enough at all and are not recommended. They need to be at least 15 inched in diameter and that's the most important thing. Also if your Chinchilla chews plastic, absolutely not because if they ingest the plastic it is toxic to them. 😊

Are you still having issues? I've owned chinchillas for over 13 years and grown up with them in my life. Currently we have a 12 year old female white and a 6 year old grey chinchilla. If you still have issues, feel free to ask and I should be able to answer.
How did you make the ledges in his cage?
Aislinn McKenzie I just bought a long piece of pine wood (I thought it was kiln dried, but it wasn’t and so that’s why I cover them with fleece) and I cut them into pieces. Then I screwed in some screws and attached them to the cage with wing nuts 😊

GalaxyMilkQueen OFFICIAL When the dust starts to turn rough then you should change it. Dust should be fine, powdery and light 💕

Chin' Chillin I’ve started using a new one and it’s called Wondershare Filmora. I bought it and installed it onto my computer, so it isn’t free like iMovie unfortunately , which I used to use. 😊

Cristina Vids Zoey And Lilo’s Toybox, TJ’s Chinchilla Supplies, AZ Chinchillas, or you can make your own. Btw all the stores I mentioned are online shops I really love and recommend😊

If you want to get some wooden ledges in person and not online tractor supply often carries some. You can also look in the bird section at Petco and Petsmart, as they often have them. :)

Bernadette Roberts Yes, they can be litter trained to pee in that specific spot. It’s much like the process of litter training a rabbit and I’m sure there are videos of that on RUclips. It’s hard for certain chins to learn (I tried with Merlin and it failed lol) but I’m sure with time and persistence you can😉💕

Chinchillas like to normally be held on a flat hand, refrain from squeezing them, and if you really need to pick them up try scooping from the bottom with flat hands. Often if you hold your hands out near your chin they'll walk right on them! :D

Aryn 112 You can buy one for now and save up to get another just make sure it can be done within a few months at the most. You can also check out rescues and breeders that have Chinchillas that need to live alone for special reasons😊
