  • This is what to expect when you attend one of the Spartan owner's chassis training courses. We attended last Oct 2017 up at the Spartan facility in Charlotte. MI. We found the course to be absolutely brilliant and would highly recommend this course to anyone who owners an RV with a Spartan chassis.

    Wow! That is top shelf service from Spartan. As a former Trucker I know a lot of this hardware related , but a vehicle specific course is right up my alley. Can't wait ! Thanks a bunch . Cheers .

    I had a freightliner chassis on my previous MH and took the course in Gaffney, SC. 3 days of intense training….wonderful experience. Suggest these courses to anyone owning a large DP MH. Now traveling in a 43 ft Dutch Star and scheduled for their training session next July. Even added the driving instruction for my wife. I tell you these classes are the best place to learn the ‘how to’ of your coach.

    It’s no small feat Julia to push past your anxiety and drive. We have a Dodge 1500 that to me is a beast! I prefer my Genesis. Now I’ll bet you will beat Glenn to the drivers seat! Drive safe you two! Ed from Lancaster CA. I’m still a few years away from a coach purchase, but I must thank you greatly for all of the time and effort that has gone into your videos! Sometimes just one or three pieces of material info can steer one towards a better decision.

      Hi again ed, if we can help by sharing our experience then it's all worthwhile. And the spin-off if that we get to talk to and occasionally meet some great people.

    What a great idea having a course like this. Glad to see Julia got professional driver training. You have a fire extinguisher in case you have a ****, you wear seat belts in case your in an ******* and you have a second driver just in case one driver has an unexpected *******. The names of these events have been withheld as prevent future jinkage.

    I have to say, this is probably your best video to date. I have always planned on going to the Spartan School once we got a rig. I can say we just ordered a Newmar Ditch Star with the Spartan Chassis and will take delivery in May and go to the school June or July.

      I wish we had gone before say a month or two after owning the RV. So you are doing it right as I've been driving for two years incorrectly. The course is very worth while.

      It was a great video, much better than the ones they produce. They are not the best at marketing the school. BTW the videos you did about the steering problem opened our eyes to Newmar's Comfort Drive one of the reason's we chose Newmar over Entegra

      Hi Gary, Good choice I think if I could turn back the clock I would have chosen Newmar,

    Another great video, thanks Glenn. We took the Spartan course in July this year. One word? Informative. So many things to learn about these coaches. We are signed up for advanced course next June. So much more to learn. We also had Andy as our technician going over our 2016 Anthem, he is excellent.

    I sure hope they paid you for your work on this video. I didn't know they offered this hands on education. It certainly adds to their value when I reach the position of purchasing. Great information. ( None of my business if they paid you.) That comment was directed at Spartan. I've admired their chassis for their engineering and clean simplicity. That course allows you to see systems organised and broken down. Then they show you those very systems on your coach..

    Very good video, I would change a few things, pan slowly, spend 5 seconds on each item like you did on the air bag. It makes it easier to stop the video to study the details of each part or system. I like that Julia took the time to learn to drive, she can help out in a pinch if needed, now if I could get my wife to take her direction.....

    I have seen many videos on Spartan chassis courses and want to take one. I also am considering taking the course on RV tech training that is offered throughout various locations. I laughed when Julia did the U-Turn. I will drive out of my way to avoid them. They are not legal several states and greatly limited in others.

    Liked the hands on here to let you know more things you might have missed not know was there. Like the song. Yes I was born in Chicago and yes were lots of gangs there. Played in a band for 18 Yrs on drums over 30 Yrs. Women OMG they were always around me. Yes loved that part. Make love not war. Flower power oh God yes. Yes on lots of trips but in bed lol. Free love. Man the 60's in a band my God you can't beat that. Paid to play music I want them days back too lol.

      That's one of the reason for me wanting to get Julia behind the wheel. The very next day she drove from the campsite to the interstate and then handed over to me. She really doesnlt loke interstates.

    Is the Freightliner Chassis better overall than this Spartan unit? Which one is better engineered?? Why only Cummins six cylinder units on high end RV’s??
    Would love to see a proper v8 high output diesel attached to a quality chassis for a RV

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  4 года назад

      Hi Anthony, Sorry for the late reply. This is a question I am unable to answer as there are too many variables, such as:
      Home or paid storage
      Insurance cover and your discounts
      Own servicing or garage servicing
      Annual milage
      Warranty or out of warranty
      Brand of coach
      etc etc

    how is your steering doing by now? would you take a Spartan over a freightliner if you had the option?

    • @GreatEscape24
      @GreatEscape24  6 лет назад

      Hi Duane, Well obviously I was pretty pissed off that it took so long to repair my steering but there are two things that do stand out of all this. Spartan was relentless in trying to solve my problems and did also spend a lot of money sending engineers all over the place to try and resolve this issue. After seeing the setup at Spartan you realize that you are dealing with a proper professional company and not some pretend industry run by farmers. So I would probably choose Spartan again. Interesting that Entegra decides to choose different components for their chassis's probably in the attempt to save money. whereas Newmar (also on a Spartan chassis) do not seem to have any of these issues. So I would point the finger at Entegra for cutting corners.
