My groundsheet is a cut-to-size Tyvek sheet. I have another small rectangle of Tyvek which I use as my table. I have two basic sit-mats, one to sit on, one for my feet. I use a small plastic plumbers 'T' piece that they use to join pipes together from B & Q to push my tent pegs in. I also carry a 15" long, horse riders crop (the end is rounded off) with me that hangs from my belt. I've had to use it once, last year when a farm dog attacked me. I gave it a sharp whack on its rump and it ran off. It's been helpful to me as well, when I needed to gently prod myself through an inquisitive herd of cattle. Lastly, I use a small fabric Decathlon zipped bag that hangs around my neck (it stays attached to me at all times) to keep my passport and cash (the notes) safe.
Ah some great little hacks there as for pushing pegs in my easy way is to just have a spare pop bottle lid that way my hands don’t get cut up. You gotta love helping others get out and about with these little hacks. So fair play to you. 👍
Painters plastic drop cloth 2 mil works and is tougher than polycro. I found some 1/8 inch foam underlayment for putting under laminate flooring and cut a piece to go under my sleeping pad. It helps protect the pad from sharp sticks or briars and adds some comfort. If my pad has a leak I could just sleep on the rolled out foam pad
@@hazeyweather2465 Well can’t sit there watching all that BS on Tv would rather be out enjoying life 😊 cheers buddy. And yeah it is a bit expansive lol
Thanks man, just about to start my wild camping, really useful info, I will be a reg watcher now, Maybe even show you a diary of my first night camping😊
Nice tips 👍🏻 it's always a pleasure learning new tricks, we are always learning. I found another use for those little figure 8 clips, I've added a couple to my osprey talon velocity shoulder straps so I can hang my water bottle so I can filter water into it without having to hold the recieving bottle. Keep an eye out for a video on that soon 😉
Just be extremely careful when cutting. Try doing one clean cut. it is strong but if your cut is jagged it will rip easily. I surgest when running scissors in a smooth action along a pro marked line and cut in one swoop 🫡
Good tips. Was looking for phone mount ideas as well. As for tables. Have you seen “3F UL camping mini portable folding table outdoor barbecue”? 180-290g depending on size. Folds small and acts as a support for gas canister/stove.
It’s definitely on the radar or in the post 😂 ssshhh I’ll have a look in the cupboard it’s probably there. Only joking the wife will flatten me if I get any more shizel 🙄
From actual usage, the backpack is poor. Sorry to say this, as some other advice is good. It has no support and cuts in to your shoulders with just a medium load. I sold mine on ebay within two weeks of purchase. And no I am not recommending an alternative here.
I understand what your saying but you have to remember all people have different ways of loading a backpack also we are not all the same. What is good for some is not all ways good for others. That’s why I always say do your homework to whom ever is watching. don’t always take my opinion again everyone is different I’ll still use this backpack for the Pennine way again because it suits me. But your opinion would be value to others. So thanks for the comment it’s nice to see a disagreement as the case states some products are not good for others.

Sounds a spot on idea. I think they sell that kind of foam Matt at outdoor essentials. But still a great idea. 👍

I love my Rock 60+5 pack, it's as good as loads of the packs that are 2 to 3 times as much. I'm going to buy some of that Polycryo stuff. Cheers

@@escapeoutdoors. I made myself a waterproof kilt/skirt out of it 😂 Great stuff, I just didn't think to use it as a footprint, cheers again.
