@@Trblmkr07 Yesterday I had a ranking Shimakaze that didn't get a single cap and decided to go on flanks to just torp. He did the same shit 3 matches. The guy blamed their team mates every single time he was killed and he justified his gameplay because he was rank 3 while the rest were from 5 to 8 on gold league.
He was carried to win the 3 matches.

Yep getting gold isn’t hard if you play enough, bound to get carried there if you’re bad if you play it enough
Old ranked was also terrible, star save players all the way to the top and cheaters everywhere. Haven't seen a cheater in silver yet, seems like they're either garbage and stuck in bronze or guys like Gaishu and rank out / get banned.

Gouden leeuw never disappoints me. Just requires a different play style, esp compared to radar cruisers. Her AP hits pretty hard in ambush situations
GL is an excellent ship that 90% of the playerbase plays wrong.

I personally Love my GL, for some crazy reason I do very well with it. Those guns are also sneaky in how hard they hit.
Highest skill floor ship in the game, but if you are good it can be a real winner
the airstrike can do massive damage against subs if they are at surface level...
It takes 15 seconds for the airstrike to land and less than 10 seconds for a sub to fully submerge...
I'm pretty sure you'd successfully use strike against subs maybe 1/200 games if there was data for it
Was the division on the other end. Watching our team collapse after a C flank obliteration was really painful...
Golden Lion is ... quite decent ship, perfect in line with its predecessors. Island hugging is one thing you can do with it, but the other option is open water gunboating on midrange. They have quite nice concealment and that 13 km range on airstike is nasty bite.
7 Provinces is a beast in current cruiser brawls, kiting light cruiser with up to 4 strikes ready´, reloading every 40s ... one must love the idea of things like Cherboughs camping besides islands and tring to speedduke those airsalvos and burning to death next, while you can speeddodge with speedboost active in kiting position 12 km from them :D
Also works for Gouden Leeuw. It is quite tanky ships and perfect for fighting campers and big targets like heavy cruisers and BBs, its HE hurts a lot, it´s airstrikes even more and it´s AA is almost the only one relevant against things like FDR and so on. It is weak against subs, though, but hydro can help spotting them and DDs will have harder time hitting you with those.
BTW try GL in ranked. It is really strong there

@@derrickstorm6976 It is like this with many ships. PQ loves his Montana and can do crazy things with her, while Flambass absolutely hates that one and it is the only ship he sold as a T10. When everything counters everything, you end up in these "inherently weak" situations ;)

I like this Ship! For me one of the better Cruiser and really Fun to play. Guns are ok, strong AA, really good Concealment, Turtleback , Hydro and these awesome Airstrikes. Love it!
Haven't watched the video yet PQ but I think the GL is a great ship! I'll watch the video now...
What camera settings do you use? I struggle with my camera when switching between main guns and airstrike
Would love to hear your thoughts on the cruiser you mentioned, De Zeven Provinciën. It's such a weird ship of extremes! Small, lower damage airstrikes, but they come back so fast and you can stack three of them. Weak feeling main guns, but I think she might have the most ridiculous AA setup in her tier? Light cruiser armor, but improved repair parties for healing it back. Etc.
I'm not convinced it's a GOOD ship, but somehow I find it weirdly fun to play? I'd love to hear your takes on her some time!
It's a really a very good light cruiser. However I wish it reloaded 1-2s faster (much more comfortable)
What mods change the badge and consumable look?
I hate playing against this ship , yesterday I was having amazing game with schleffen and got first 2 red ships then tucked behind island and this stupid ship took almost all my HP and kept attacking me till death .
5:35 Adriatico positioning, that's pure Italian destroyer players. Holy hell is it painful to have those destroyers on your team.
For me personally I've had the most succes in using GL like a Zao to kite enemy BBs and setting them on fire with the main guns and adter they DCed setting them on fire again with the airstrikes

Tbh, I like the Dutch Cruisers T8 and up. Really good armor and decent gunnery. T7 and below is when you scrap the bottom of the shit barrel however.
I never double airstrike unless the target beached. Too often do players see the incoming planes and adjust course. So dropping the first one, seeing how they're reacting, then dropping the 2nd is the way to play usually
I think the whole line is quite good and actually more tanky than you're giving credit, at the right angle I can bounce Iowas, Vermont and most cruisers even at close range. One game in Johan se Witt I had a Vermont beach and closed the distance while angled and dropping strikes, he shot 2 volleys at me but did almost no damage. He died.
Bad players shoot the belt armor and many ships can bounce like that. If the Vermont would have been competent he would shoot your superstructure for massive ap pens. :-)

I honestly think Gouden Leeuw can be a good ship. Not the best, but surely not bad.
Agree with drheinz :) But you can pronounce ou in Gouden as in how, like Gow-den, then it's good :)
I have mine fully specced for AA defense und every time I play her, I get matches with no CVs. Same with the De Witt.
Still not sure of the justification for the long duration fires on this ship. It's weak enough to begin with, it didn't need an extra handicap.

I found the GL to work very best if u dont try to focus too hard on airstrike. if I spawn on flank I bait enemy into me kiting... then u set perma fires like crazy. if u spawn middle u play in more crwoed control ... but tis ddefinitly not a bad cruiser. very entertaining for me at least.
Still cant wait for a super dutch cruiser to be added, actually decent guns with good dispersion and 3 [even 4] airstrike charges.

She is tanky af! I use double rudder, and open water, almost completely forgetting the air strikes unless a target like that thunderer. I feel like compared to island camping, I have more game impact being seen/shot at
i would love if they build CVs with the same Mechanic to these AIRSTRIKES.
Totally agree. Limiting their range to 13-15km with cooldowns on squads. Ships are able to maneuver to avoid strikes and CV can actually capt. the boat for once.
@@skincookiez7576 Even making The Cvs have Heal and somewhat good armour to make them being able to angle. Yes they might NoT feel like a CV... But balance maybe
@@alejandropinchetti8302 I don't know that I would give them a heal. Maybe lower their detection to strike from stealth but they shouldn't be able to sit in the back anymore and hit anything.
Lol got SO lucky the Thunderer was a complete idiot and only got to farm him, just sitting in front you and doing nothing
i dont think its a bad ship, the player Has to Play the ship good 😅
We had a talk in our clan about sometime missing a lot of shell on DD that just get spot, some mention it could be the skill that give them more chance to not getting hit.
The whole gimmick of this ship is air strikes. Waiting for something new like a premium or a supership of this ship.
honestly my first cruiser tree to go through and I have to say Imloved Haarlem and Gouden alike. they are still one of my fav cruiser classes to date … I just love those airstrikes 😍
Bad ship? I think the ol golden lion is pretty strong.
The accuracy of this ship is what makes me dislike playing it. Not having good guns is a deal breaker for me.
my max dmg is 279 000 with this ship y thing is really strong ....y have only 1 biger dmg at CC (312 000) hemri .....desmoines (270 000) 550 + games played

Played my GL for the Supercontainer.
60 HE shells and 40 bomb hits on non burning targets later... i started 2 fires only. Its the same with the D7P. Sometimes it burns everything and sometimes it doesn't at all. This dependency on RNG is something i really dislike.

Yeah, this ship is pretty strong. I don't really agree with PQs opinion on this one. It's a better HE fire starter than most traditionally known "firestarter" ships. It's fun as hell too. I don't think the dispersion is that bad either.
I actually love the GL . It's my first tier 10 ship and I think my most played ship overall. People really underestimate how brutal those airstrikes can be and just sail straight at them and take 15-20k dmg and 1-2 fires. Overall not a bad ship just misused and if you play to it's strenghts like 10km conceal, great aa (yes I take aa mod rather than gun reload) and chill on the second line as a support cruiser them you can be a major annoiance to the enemy while they can't really do much about you.

This ship has been silently nerfed from very good special ship to very bad one.
I had personal damage dealt record on this ship after it was released and nerfed once. Then she was tanky, but inaccurate ship with powerfull airstrike.
Now any BB penetrate her like there is no armor what ever angle you turn to them.
It is useless, thanks WG for getting another unique ship out of the game.
It was good unique ship; only an idiot confuse uniqueness and mutations. WG seem to fail to understand it.
Worked my way up to the Haarlem a little while ago, she maneuvers well I'll give her that. Just wish the guns gave a bit more performance. She works well in some of the newly reworked operations tho. Not particularly enthused about getting to the GL, but more snowflakes to knock off is something positive at least.
been struggling with Haarlem. It has the same guns as Roon and Hindenburg but they perform much more poorly.
Stopped at T8, too short ranged.

I noticed your build is not proper there is a modification you can put on the ship that will make your airstrike come back in 43 seconds while it does not change the stat in port it does change it in game go test it :)

83% wr, 110,5k avg dmg on the gouden leeuw. 80k airstrike damage is kinda average? if you hadnt missed all those strikes youd be way over 100k dmg
