Its the fact that they are trying to imitate this particular haka of the Māori people.. by using incorrect actions and pronouciation of the words making it insulting to what ka mate is really about Theres loads of history behind it and its all in the language..if you can't speak Maori or even understand what its about then don't do it! For all those saying Churchill copied New Zealand, this has always been tradition. Churchill's origin is not just black shona speaking people. It was a mixture of Black & white students. Now that there seems to be no more white people I see why one would say they should do it in Shona, but truth is, that's not the tradition of Churchill Bulldogs. Keeping it as it is makes the whole Haka what it is.
@@dd92727 Lol what is Haka to begin with? A war dance right? Doesn't have to match New Zealand's Haka. Even if they originated it doesn't mean other countries can't do it in a different way

Rugby is an English sport that has been adopted in many countries. What makes it unique to the countries that play the sport is the infusion of their OWN cultural norms into their rugby culture. The Haka is part of the Maori culture and as such can be noted with teams that have ties to this norm like the all blacks. The international sides from the Pacific islands have their own pre-match team rituals that they perform before each game. These are less well known than the Haka. Fiji perform the I Bole. Samoa perform the Manu Siva Tau. Tongan players perform the Sipi Tau, a form of cultural dance known as a Kailao. These pre-game rituals are all tied into their indigenous cultures and have found their way into rugby. Why not Shona or Ndebele?

Does it make sense if i say HipHop,Rap, juicy lips, juicy ass, twerking, rhythm are for black people??? The samoans also do the haka and they are not maori..whats your point
That’s not true. Haka is NZ version of a war cry. South Africa has had war cries dating back to the 1800s from what has been recorded, specifically the war against the British. I don’t think they should have titled it Haka (maybe for views 🤷🏾♀️). But a war cry has always been done, the culture just never carried it like Maori and Samoan...etc., unfortunately.
@@MiszJasmine891 I'm talking about calling it a Haka, it's used for NZ war dance labeling, Sipi tau uses for Tonga, Siva Tau uses for Samoa, Cibi for Fiji, please use the African name for it
Because I can, duh. Why comment on a video, you don’t agree on? Because you can. I didn’t agree with everything you said, I agreed they shouldn’t have titled it Haka.
