  • An infiltration or percolation test is a way to gauge how well the soil can absorb and release water. This information is vital for properly designing and sizing a soakaway. A soakaway is an underground setup that manages the drainage of surface water, allowing it to disperse naturally back into the neighbouring soil.
Join Reece Hewitt MSC BSc (Hons) MCIWEM from FPS Environmental Ltd, as he conducts an infiltration test at various locations across a site. This exercise is to allow drainage designs to be prepared and undertaken to support a planning application.
As drainage becomes a more stringent requirement of planning applications, surface water drainage designs will be required more frequently.
From the information obtained, our team will be able to design a suitable surface water drainage scheme for the site, allowing the maximum development potential whilst safely managing surface water.
